We couldn't be happier with our backyard project. Motti and Kimberly were just wonderful to work with. They were professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive all throughout the process. They listened to our thoughts and educated us as to all our possibilities. Motti has a wonderful design eye and is so passionate about his work. We were very happy when we used them for the front of our house 4 years ago, this time around for the back, and we would use them again in the future. We recommend them highly.

Our backyard was in need of a redo: We struggled to grow grass, and we wanted a space that would accommodate a trampoline and a small garden, as well as a dining table and sitting area, but still feel green and lush. After meeting with a few landscapers who suggested we get rid of the trampoline, rip up our existing brick patio and put pavers everywhere, we met Alisa from Motti's team. As a landscape designer, she really listened to what we wanted, and had great ideas for how to incorporate it all, as well as suggestions for garden planters and furniture. A week after our meeting, we got detailed plans that showed us just what the yard would look like, as well as what plants would look and work best. We then worked with Motti to tweak the plans, finalize the budget, and pick out materials, etc., and we were able to schedule the project within a few weeks time. Once the job started, Motti's team of workers were professional and efficient, and Motti stopped by daily to check the progress. Our backyard is now a true extension of our living space, and it's welcoming to kids and adults. A great big thanks to Motti and his team!

I am very pleased with the finished project by Motti and his team. The project fit my budget. Not only was I impressed with the daily work effort of the crew, I was equally impressed with the daily clean-up before leaving. Motti was very responsive to phone/text messages.

Green Republic did an amazing job. They worked with us to give us what we wanted and within our budget. The work was fast. Seriously, their staff are fantastic. And extremely friendly. They completed the entire job in days. The best part about this is I’m pretty positive I now have the best front yard on my block. The neighbors continue to compliment the job and ask who did the work. Will totally be using them again when we start on the backyard.

My husband and I have been thinking for several months to get convert our backyard to a drought tolerant landscape. We want to lower our water bill as much as possible and revamp our yard and get it ready for summer. We decided to hire Motti because we felt he gave us the best presentation of ideas for the yard and his background knowledge of landscaping. We had our grass ripped off completely and remove very old sprinklers. The crew planted about 50 California Native and desert type plants with a new irrigation and removal of a Yucca type tree, with stump and roots. DG and rocks were also installed. Overall the project came out great. We are happy and will call Motti for our next project (Front yard).

Motti and team were excellent to work with over the project timeframe. Motti is on top of his team and constantly making sure they are delivering top quality. I am a demanding client looking for top quality and he delivered. Will use him again in a heartbeat.

Motti and his team did a great job! He worked to stay within our budget but didn't cut corners on anything. He was onsite most days to make sure the job was progressing to plan.

Came twice to our house, and gave us some inflated estimates for works we did not need. Finally, we asked the manager to refund the $ 1000 we had already paid. Said he would get back to us. Ever called us back. Beware.

Made an appointment for estimate. When NO SHOW, called the office. The female that answered said she "text" me the day before to verify the appointment. I do not receive text on my home phone! No other attempt(s) made so they did not send their technician for the estimate!

Based on the positive reviews of Green Republic on Yelp and Angie's List and our initial interactions with Motti we were excited to have them landscape our front and back yard. Unfortunately, our experience was not as positive as others. The positives were: (1) that the pricing was fair and the bulk of the work was completed very efficiently. The negatives were: (1) despite telling us the work would be done by Green Republic employees all of the work was done by subcontractors with no supervision from Green Republic, (2) though most of the work was done very efficiently the last 10% dragged on for months with lots of promises that it would be finished by a certain date only to be notified of further delays at the last minute (definitely don't pay these guys until the work is complete), and (3) though we were told all the work and plants were warranted when we had issues they didn't warrant their work. Without any supervision the subcontractors did subpar work. A few examples of this were: 1) We picked out pavers and we asked them not to set them until we saw them to confirm they were the correct pavers. Instead we walked out one day to see that they were setting pavers and they were the wrong ones. They told us these were better more expensive pavers which may have been true, but they were the wrong style, so it didn't matter. We asked that they get the pavers we asked for which the subcontractor was not happy about and begrudingly did. 2) The old plants and roots were not properly removed, so within a month we had the old plants growing back through the ground cover and wood chips. 3) Drip lines were installed, but no one bothered to check if the spouts were open or if all the plants actually were receiving water and a new sprinkler controller was installed and never programmed or turned on for two weeks. Rather than provide the instructions to us they threw them out or we would have done it ourselves. 4) They installed decomposed granite, but in one area it was so thin that the first time it rained, the DG was washed away and the soil was exposed. In addition to these issues, they didn't set the pavers in a straight line, we had several plants die, and the sod that was installed developed dead spots within two weeks. We were left to deal with disgruntled sub contractors, Green republic pushed back on all warranty issues providing excuse after excuse as to why it wasn't their problem (even for dead plants that most nurseries would warrant and happily replace). For us Motti and Green Republic were a major headache. We are very disappointed particularly given all the other positive reviews.

We called Green Republic Landscapes and our first contact person Glenda, was both professional and friendly. Motti, the owner came to meet with us and think through the design of the area. He agreed that his workers will be able to remove the day lily, roses, dead sections of the bamboo and all the palm, as well as non-bamboo vegetation among the bamboo from the roots so they would not grow back. We agreed on a redwood wall with a mid section (about 2 feet) of plywood that will be painted black matte to double as a chalk board for our 6-year old; using all redwood would have been more expensive. The gravel will be covered with Angelus pavers with a small pipe underneath to drain any rain water that collects in the patio. We also decided to use the same pavers to cover a 2 feet wide dirt area that ran along the wood wall to make it a seating area. The total cost was $1750 for the vegetation removal, $4500 for the wall and $7500 for the pavers. We were introduced to Melissa, our project manager and Ivan the lead crew member. Everyone was polite and professional. Ivan, however didn't say much and was chronically late so if you work with this team please keep that in mind and refer all issues to Melissa and Motti. The work was completed as agreed and the patio looks really nice. We received our $500 Angie's List discount. However, be aware that you have to inspect the work regularly and hold the work crew accountable. Ivan reported to Melissa that he had completed the job but when we inspected the area the 1) redwood was not treated (he told her he had applied one coat - it was not true); the strip of sand at the edges of the pavers was not sealed either and a simple spray of water scattered the sand edging; and we found palm growing back from stubs he didn't remove (from the root). Melissa had Ivan and his crew come back to remove the redwood, treat it and replace all the planks. He sealed the sand with a glue like substance. He brought a drill to remove the hearts of the palm to "kill" them. The job was corrected quickly but I wish it had been done properly the first time. We are enjoying the area as an additional living space so I'm glad the job is done. However, I just found multiple strands of ivy growing back between the live bamboo and more palm fronds showing where they were supposedly removed so it is frustrating, and the bamboo was so unevenly cut that I've tripped several times walking through the area trying to trim the palm. I'm not sure if I should call Melissa again as we've signed the exit contract. I'd recommend them for their ability to work on both landscape and hardscape and for the responsiveness of the management but know that you'll need to keep an eye on the work crew especially if you are working with Ivan. And don't feel bad to speak up. For the total price, the work was mostly (90%) completed after corrections were requested. I really wanted to like this company as I have several friends who are also looking for team to help with landscaping and paving work. I might refer them with the caveats above. I would hire them again depending on the project.

Motti was very personable and honest about what he thought would work for our front yard. He seemed to immediately understand our vision, and was able to create the look we wanted. He was also able to easily incorporate the fountain and leftover flagstone that we had already purchased. The work was done well and efficiently, including cleaning deep roots and removal of 2 large trees. The team was helpful within a couple days of the job completion after we realized that the sprinkler system was not working properly. My fear that the plants would die within weeks was unfounded -- only 2 plants died in the middle of the summer heat!

The workers were very punctual and did a great job. Motti had a great vision for my little front yard.

Everyone at Green Republic was extremely professional, detail-oriented and did exactly what the said. They came out to do a design consultation which made me rethink some of my original plans. Scheduling the work was extremely simple and the work was done on schedule, on budget and they accommodated any minor changes or tweaks. Once the job was done and we turned the sprinklers back on there was a minor issue; Green Republic came out the next day and resolved it immediately. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them or use them again.

Fantastic, our yard looks terrific! Motti was very knowledgeable and professional and responded quickly whenever I had questions. I wanted both an English garden feel and drought-tolerant, native plants and Motti definitely delivered - I love the plants he selected for us. Great experience, I highly recommend him!!

Amir and Motti did a beautiful job designing and executing the garden and patio. They supervised everything and were always reachable and responsive, proactive with issues as they arose. All the workers were efficient and responsible.

I hired for a landscaping consultation. The consult was great, and we chatted about some idea's and plans. Some thoughts on how our yard could best be setup. Also gave some tips on current landscaping as well as thoughts on grass, sod, seed, and artificial.

It all went well. Alisa was the designer/project manager. She had really good ideas, listened to my needs, and was very professional. The only issue was with the gazebo. I purchased a kit from another company and I had Green Republic put it together. They did not do it properly the first time, but they did a good job rectifying the situation. New parts were ordered and the gazebo was completely in a timely manner.
