Went well.

The initial phone call went well, I felt they were very responsive. I was quoted $75 for 4 hours of work, with $10 more for each additional hour. I was told I could keep the housecleaner as long as I needed her. I called back the day before the maid was supposed to come and let them know that our vacuum was broken, so if she could bring one that would be great. If she couldn't fine, we just wouldn't vacuum. I was told that he would try and see if she could bring one. The maid did come on time but immediately I had a poor impression. She seemed ill, or depressed, or something. She was looking around in a spaced out manner and seemed extremely uncomfortable with my small dog, who was friendly but checking her out. It's a good thing we sent the big one off for grooming that day! If they have employees who are uncomfortable with animals or allergic, they should have asked me if I had any. I asked if she had a vacuum and she said "....no." It seemed like no one had asked her to bring one, but it was hard to tell because she would only answer "yes" or "no" to anything -- and she did speak English, so that wasn't the reason. She was very slow moving and seemed so depressed or down I was feeling badly, like I was oppressing her. She did a good job cleaning but by that time I just felt so uncomfortable at the end of the 4 hours I asked if she was finished and she said yes. I paid her $75. Two minutes later there is a knock at the door and she's telling me it's $85!! I know I was quoted $75, and she seemed very unhappy with that price and she must have called the office where they told her they had quoted me $85. Whatever, it was not worth fighting over $10 - I was just glad for her to leave. All in all, good job but hint to Golden Maid - personality does make a difference, or if your cleaning folks are so depressed because of something you're doing, I don't want to be a part of it!!

The cleaning girl started with the kitchen first but when she opened the refridgerator which was still full of food, she paused. I explained that I had to take the kitchen food last since it needed to be kept cold. Though her English was very little, she appeared to understand this. However, after I cleared out the fridge shortly after, she did not return to it to clean it and in fact, was annoyed that I was dropping things on the floor near the fridge. She told me that she won't clean it again. I had also thought that she would sweep the empty garage but in the end (we had to pay and leave before she was finished) she did not do it. Except for the children's crayon marks on the walls (which would have easily come off had she tried), the garage and the refridgerator, she girl did a decent job with the rest of the house and cleaned the surfaces, windows and floors fairly well.

They have two girls, Noelvi and Sonja, that are spectacular who clean my house. They are cheap, $65 for four hours. They do great work. They walk in and they start. They don't take a brake; they go at it and get the work done. The girls that clean are excellent. They are very courteous as well. They even bring their own cleaning supplies.

For the first project, he sent one guy with his wife to come clean the patio during the week. There was a slight misunderstanding over the price because they were expected to stay 5 hours, but he brought his wife instead and only stayed 2 1/2 hours, but they did a good job. I then called them again and they sent three girls to come in on a Sunday during Memorial Day weekend. They completely cleaned the house, which was to have included cleaning the windows, which they did not get to. Of the three who came for this project, one girl was very professional, and the other two were less professional. One spilled a glass of soda on the brand new carpet, and she and another of the workers talked incessantly. I paid them for 15 hours of work, and did not feel that I got 15 consistent hours of work. As far as an agency they seem okay, but the workers themselves could have been much more professional. I would use the agency again, but would be more careful about who they sent.

SHE DID A GOOD JOB. I FELT THAT ONLY HAVING ONE PERSON COME OUT TOOK UP OUR WHOLE DAY. OUR HOUSE IS ONLY 1700 SQ. FT, WHICH IS NOT VERY BIG, SO I FELT THAT SHE TOOK A LONG TIME. SHE WAS VERY THROUGH AND VERY GOOD, BUT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE EFFICIENT IF THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN AT LEAST 2 PEOPLE ON THE JOB.

Both times they performed the services they were late. The first time, one hour, and the second time, 1.5 hours. During the 2nd visit, I was informed that their price was different than represented, and the maid attempted to collect the extra money for the prior visit as well as this one. I would not pay the extra charge until I spoke to her supervisor and asked him to call me. He never did, and they never showed again.

Rosa was 30 minutes late. She understood my requests and worked well at a reasonable speed. I was very satisfied with the results and would use her again.

I called Carlos at Golden Maid Agency and explained that the cleaning job hadn't been completed; he arranged for another housekeeper, Felipa, to come out to the house. Felipa was very nice, spoke English well, cleaned thoroughly,and worked more quickly than Marina. She not only helped to complete the original job, but she was able to assist me in cleaning another area of the house. My home was pulled together just in time for visiting relatives, and a gathering of thirty people. The cost was $75.00 for the first five hours, and $12.00/hour thereafter per housekeeper.

I DON'T HAVE REGULAR MAID SERVICE... BUT PERIODICALLY I CALL SOMEONE IN TO DO A THOROUGH ONCE OVER ON MY HOUSE... AND I EXPECT THEM TO DO A GOOD JOB. SOMETIMES THEY DO AND SOMETIMES THEY DON'T... BUT THIS TIME IT WAS ACCEPTABLE.
