Clark Plumbing Heating & Air

Our 12 year old water heater sprung a leak. We had used Clark Plumbing for the past 20+ years and they had installed the water heater. They came out very quickly and replaced the water heater. While the work was done quickly, I feel like I have been ripped off by the price, which seems very high compared to other people who have had the same work done recently. I found a plumber on Angie's list that would have done the same for about $1200. When I called the next day to complain about the pricing, they said it sounded about right for the job. When I said it was about twice what I've seen others charge for the same work, the man said, well they also replaced the flex hoses. I guess they're really valuable. This is the third time I thought I was overcharged by this company, so I'm done with them.

We had used this company a few times when our regular plumber wasn't available. They were expensive but we had no real complaints until a pipe under our house leaked and the Clark plumber said we needed to hire a water restoration company. The plumber recommended a specific company, said he'd worked with it before and that they would work with our insurance company, and gave us a phone number. The plumber called it "American Restoration," which had okay reviews, but the company's name is actually California Restoration which has multiple complaints about wildly inflated bills and a history of taking homeowners to court (250 cases in Los Angeles County so far). This company tried to charge us $20,000 more than the estimate. When I called Clark to complain, the woman who answered insisted that they had no financial relationship with California Restoration, that they knew nothing about it and that they only recommended it because the company gave them free mousepads.
