Pier is, as many others here have noted, a meticulous and highly experienced craftsman who takes pride in showing up as he says he will and doing the job right. We are very happy with the work he's done in two different rooms in our condo, and we plan on dropping him a line as we decide which projects to do next. It's a great and rare event to find a real pro who can do so many different things so well. In short, if you have the chance to hire him, do it!

To whom it may concern I will not respond to every email I receive and for you to give me an F is so ridiculous at best and for Angies List to allow it to be shown is even worse
Pier continues to do a fantastic job with our house projects. Our vision for our dining room wall to be entirely replaced with a folding glass door turned out beautifully. The project was bigger than we might have guessed as it required Pier to subcontract an engineer to ensure our structure would be sound after removing the wall from the first story. After digging under the foundation and opening up the back wall of our house to install the proper reinforcements, the back wall of our house looks better than new and is probably the safest place to be in an earthquake! Once you open up walls, you never know what you will find, but Pier always knows what to do to correct existing problems and reach our goals. Our new door is stunning. Even the inspector asked for Pier's card because he was so impressed with the result and Pier's expertise!
Description of Work: We replaced our dining room wall with a floor-to-ceiling folding glass door (8' x 11') with a retractable screen. It was necessary to reinforce the structure (underpin footings and a sheer wall), re-route electrical and plumbing, replace stucco, repair interior walls & ceiling, and repair patio.
It was great. He was here on time and brought when needed. It was just really good.
Description of Work: replace all flooring in first level floor, removed all old wood flooring, replace several windows with no guard windows and also interior painting. Re-stained our kitchen island.
Pier is one of the best contractors in SoCal!!! Honest and thorough, always practicing integrity, Pier is a true craftsman. Our home is a showplace that delights all who enter it. Pier has done many innovative fixes so as to make our home supremely livable and enjoyable to dwell in.
Description of Work: For more than 20 years, Pier has done extensive work throughout the house., making it a functional and beautiful space that all of us enjoy.

It was absolutely perfect. His timing and attention to detail made it perfect.
Description of Work: He removed a tub from the master bathroom. Moved in a dryer and washer instead rerouted the electrical, plumbing, and venting for the dryer.
I have used Pier for over 20 years for projects both large and small, so I didn't hesitate to call on his expertise again when I needed to raise a long privacy wall in my backyard and cover it with stone veneer. First job was the removal of a huge vine which had covered the wall and had died. Secondly, he added 16 inches to the top of the wall. Finally, he covered the entire wall with stone veneer panels and slate on the columns. He finished the entire project in less than three weeks, and the result was absolutely beautiful! He pays such attention to detail and makes certain that we are 100% delighted with the final product. I highly recommend Pier for any type of work or renovation that you may have in mind.

Pier was a perfectionist, he took care several problems, and he was able to fix a leak on roof. He also fixed the deteriorated stucco, there were some complications on the kitchen leak, fixed the damage under the sink that was caused by a leakage on the faucet and the dishwasher. All of which were problems that he encountered while repairing the stucco damage, he was diligent and tackled the unforeseen problems along the way. And 2 days later, I had a ceiling damage caused by a leaking air conditioner hose in the attic. He came and removed all the wet insulation and replaced it. He brought in a great drywall guy and painter. Wallah! they did a fantastic job, no more leaking house. Pier, made sure things were done right, he was awesome, I highly recommend him. - Mary M.

Well...I got to admit and boy is this hard, but☝️ "HE WAS HEAVEN SENT!" Pierre has a heart of gold and he was our Superman when a couple days had already passed that he was done fixing what we asked and our living room ceiling caved in due to a water pipe that had been chewed through by unwelcoming pests! It looked horrifying to see your ceiling open up like that! We called Pierre to come help and the man is a stand up guy, ONE OF A KIND!!! so anyone reading this, I wouldn't lie to you when I say " Pierre's work is above an "A" and his honesty and kindness are the +'s (pluses) behind it, he truly is amazing at what he does.
Description of Work: Started off simple with our door getting jammed and exterior holes that needed covering.
We made the mistake of having someone else start painting while Pier was working on other items. We fired the painter after 2 days and hired Pier to finish the interior painting of our large home. He expects excellence from his workers - and we have gotten spoiled by his outstanding work. The final results were perfect. Thank you again Pier!
Description of Work: There were numerous small items that needed to be fixed - from caulking to pressure washing to painting the interior, etc.
I received an email saying he could come May 15 at 8:30. I immediately replied OK. He did not show. When I let him know I was unhappy he was rude in an email to me, I sent him proof of my response. First, I was no showed and then I had a very unprofessional verbal exchange. I don't like to leave bad reviews but he was accusatory and rude. He could have said, sorry for the misunderstanding, how can I help you?

NO that is an inacurate statement because I did not receive a responce from [Member Name Removed] I find it very odd that she says I missed the appointment but waited until Sunday at 730 am to send an email that said I was a no show and did not call she said that was bad business practice again inacurate I never received her phone number I did say I was sorry and maybe Angies list made a mistake but that obviously was not good enough for [Member Name Removed] I do not miss appointments I have a good reputation and will not allow someone to make up things

Pier once again did a spectacular job. This is the fourth project he has done for us, and once again his expertise and attention to detail are impeccable. With Pier you know the job will be done right and it will look great - he will make sure you get exactly what you're looking for.
Description of Work: removed window and replaced with much larger glass door including retractable screen, created and installed built-in bookshelf, re-located electrical outlets, built small deck outside new door
Change a dining room into a game room. He removed doors; painted; installed cables behind the wall for a mounted TV; etc.
Description of Work: Pier’s work was outstanding as usual. He took only 2-3 days to completely convert the room. His work is immaculate and he leaves the workspace spotless. He supervised the painter constantly and corrected anything he was not satisfied with. Pier is a perfectionist with his work, and it shows!

We hope Pier Angeli is in business for a long time because after using him, we don’t ever want to use another contractor. But he comes with a warning. He’s not for the faint of heart. He doesn’t hold back when he’s explaining the problem that came up, why the previous contractor shouldn’t have done it that way and what he’ll have to do to fix it. You may not want to know that your kitchen sink is sagging and may collapse in a few years or that there isn’t enough support for part of the second story and it might cave during an earthquake. Once Pier explains the problem, though, he backs off. If you prefer being an ostrich and waiting until things break before you fix them, he’ll let you. The two things that struck us most about him are his work ethic and his attention to quality. We chose him to install a full elevator in the middle of a two-story tract home, which involved taking space from a bathroom, closet and cabinets, plus do a living room remodel with new fireplace and cabinets. The contract called for him to be finished in three months, but we made sure that we could stay in our temporary rental for four months just in case. We knew the biggest problem would be the elevator, and sure enough, when Pier opened the walls, he found things that weren’t supposed to be there, including a giant lump of concrete that he had to jackhammer away. There were also structural challenges that the architect wasn’t aware of because the drawings done for a second-story addition turned out to be different than what was actually done. As the challenges began adding up, we were glad we gave ourselves an extra month. We didn’t know that Pier is in his element when things go wrong, because he enjoys solving problems. We couldn’t believe our eyes when we took a ride on the finished elevator less than halfway through the contracted time. The reason is Pier is focused on what he’s doing, and he doesn’t take on any other work during a big project. He drives his subcontractors and himself to get things done. They work Monday through Saturday! What took the longest on our project was my wife and I making design decisions. Pier also drove us to make up our minds because he wanted the materials he needed to get our job done. I felt like one of his subs. Besides his perseverance, Pier takes pride in what he does. If you’re looking for a contractor to cut corners and do things as cheaply as possible, don’t bother to call him. He’s the guy you want if you’re after quality. When he’s done, he and you know that not only does the finished product look good, but it’s built solid to last. I’d put up with a primma donna to get the great work he did for us, but Pier is down to earth. Yes, he’s outspoken, but he’s got a great sense of humor. He doesn’t take himself seriously, but he’s dead serious about getting the job done right – and on time.
Description of Work: They installed an elevator. They also did a little remodeling in the kitchen, bathroom and living room.
leak repair of chimney, inspection and repair of open points in walls deter mice, remove abandon phone and cable tv lines from exterior walls, repair water damaged hallway ceiling, installed new connector for dryer vent and screen out door vent from dryer.
Description of Work: Pier arrived on the date and time as agreed. Inspection of all areas listed and over two&half days got all of it fixed up. Chimney leak was worst than we thought and he didn’t blink an eye. He suggested fixes and we allowed the work to move forward. He found several critical areas in walls and around electrical wall sockets where mice could enter. One spot behind our kitchen stove was an obvious mice entry point based on dropping we saw. Lots of walls openings left from electrical work done several years ago!
Pier arrived on time and the date agreed upon, inspected and over two &half days to fix everything we needed. The roof leak was more complex and extensive than we thought. This was discovered when he inspected and water tested the suspected area of the leak. Pier purchased extra supplies, etc to do the repairs and paint the hallway so it matched with repair to the hallway ceiling . Also, laundry room walls were patched and painted as well.
Description of Work: Seal openings in walls, around pipes and shelves to deter mice. Also, repair gaps and leak points around chimney on roof, removed old TV Cables and phones lines from exterior walls. Paint and repair water damaged hall ceiling. Seal opening around dryer vent in laundry room and screen exterior dryer vent opening
Excellent job, as usual. Pier is a perfectionist and believes in giving you exactly what you want. Even though he has lots of other clients, when he works on your home, it seems like you're his only client. Pier is great at solving problems - generally caused by earlier poor workmanship. He and his crew are professional, expedient, but careful, and clean, polite and HONEST. And, they can do just about anything for your home. I would never allow anyone else to work on my home - and haven't for the last 12 or so years.
Description of Work: Painting the entire exterior including two screen doors and brick walls, repair and replace fascia, pour new driveway, fix gate, fix garage door, install mailbox (in concrete), repair cracked stucco, repair gutters, repair tiles in three rooms, fix sliding glass door, and install recessed lights in four rooms
Extremely well. Pier completed everything with his usual expertise in a remarkably short period of time, considering all of the unanticipated problems with the ceiling. He replaced the insulation, attached and added rafters, added new drywall and painted both large rooms. He also repaired/switched out 10 recessed lights. Pier is a perfectionist. His crew is efficient, responsible, and careful. They always clean up. I trust Pier and his crew to do excellent work and I've never been disappointed.
Description of Work: The ceiling of the living room and dining room of my open-plan house was literally falling. The rafters were never attached to the ceiling joints and were only supported by the drywall. Also the recessed lighting was no longer working in those rooms.

Pier did a great job on multiple repairs on our house. He even made suggestions that either reduced cost or improved the end result. For example, he suggested that he mount the shower head above the current tile work when he was replacing the faucet. This allows my tall guys to stand upright now when washing their hair. I will definitely contact him the next time I need projects done.

We always hire Pier to do work at our house because his work is impeccable. We had a list of minor items that needed to be repaired. He arrived on time, got the work completed in a short time, and everything is perfect! `

We have used Pier for several projects for more than 20 years and we didn’t even think about using anyone else for this renovation, by far the most extensive one that we have done. This was a complete renovation, removed two walls in the kitchen, new kitchen appliances and wine coolers, patio sliding doors, fireplace replacement, tiled entire first floor and installed wood flooring in the upstairs bedrooms. Also lots of electrical work and plumbing. All of these were done to absolute perfection in less than four months from start to finish, while we continued to live in the house. Pier was courteous, thoughtful of our needs, and professional. Our neighbors marveled at the fact that he was on the job every day, and did most of the work himself. I would recommend him for any project, big or small! So rare to see this work ethic and attention to detail today.
Description of Work: Complete renovation of kitchen, dining, living, family rooms and bedrooms.
It went very well. The patio was re-decked with trex, and it was really nice when finished. Also, he made the step to the deck larger so there wasn't any issue of falling. The crack in the garage was also repaired, when meant restucco and that looks great. He removed some shutters that had outlived their usefulness. An area by the front door to be repaired and the roof over the garage had to be restructured and the gutters cleaned and some new. He also painted where the drywall was replaced over the fireplace. You can't tell where he painted it was done so well. He also removed old carpeting in the house so we can have the hardwoods refinished. They removed an old wall unit that wasn't needed any longer. The back door had to be fixed as it wouldn't close and lock properly.
Description of Work: I had a long list of home maintenance repairs to be done, but especially the fireplace/roof . Water coming in off a leaky roof.
Pier was professional and courteous. His work quality was superb, response excellent, and had reasonable prices. I would definitely hire again. He covers a wide variety of handyman services and has the experience and crew to ensure quality results.

Excellent! Pier was able to fix our closet bi-fold door when two other handymen tried before him. Our original kitchen drawers put in decades ago had all but fallen apart, so Pier built new ones and re-attached the decorative fronts to those. Finally, Pier installed heavy-duty metal venting over the much less substantial Ecorattic Service screens. Those, along with our new Ring Floodlights we installed in the attic now either prevents, or immediately notifies us, should any further rat incursion recur.
Description of Work: 1) Adjust misaligned front door and screen door; 2) Adjust bi-fold closet doors; 3) Build and install 3 new kitchen drawer boxes with soft-close slides and add customer supplied knobs; 4) Install new metal venting on all exterior vent openings to prevent rat intrusions.
