I spent several days with Romy in May, looking at areas and houses, and then my wife and I worked with her in mid-June, making a successful offer on a house in Windsor. Making her work more challenging was that we lived on the East Coast, and that the market for houses is "thin" in the Santa Rosa area, with houses in our price range typically getting multiple offers within a week or so of going on sale. Romy's knowledge of the Santa Rosa area is excellent, and she knows what is happening in the housing market. So my wife and I were very comfortable with making an "aggressive" bid, with minimal contingencies, in order to have the best chance to get the house we wanted. Romy was very helpful in discussing with us whether we really wanted to have just an inspection contingency, even though having more contingencies would have made it more likely that we'd not get the house, and she'd have to continue spending time with us looking for another house. This is the fifth house that my wife and I have bought in the last fifteen years (we don't plan any further moves for a long, long time). Romy is the seventh real estate agent we used to either buy or sell, and while we've had good agents in almost all of these, I'd say that Romy is the best. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: Romy was our buyer's agent for purchasing a home in the Santa Rosa area. She helped us figure out what we had to bid to get our house; recommended a couple of mortgage lenders (the one we selected, a mortgage broker, did a great job handling our unusual situation with our monthly income); and after we got the house, found us a company to tear up the old carpets and install hardwood floors before our household goods arrived. [Note: "How much we spent" is based on a 3% agent's fee, though technically this was paid by the seller, rather than by my wife and I, the buyers.]
