They were always on time, no problem, very cordial and I never had spiders or rats ever since.

Terrific experience. The Hitmen kept appointments reliably and sent a super knowledgeable guy for the first round. He put out traps - including extremely effective bait that's like peanut butter but better - and checked them regularly, removing 15! rats over about six weeks. Other Hitmen staff closed up every potential opening. A year later, when three rats found their way in because roofers had unwittingly created an opening, the Hitmen came back, set traps again, closed the opening, and got the ones that had found their way in. Now we've had 0 rats in the last 12 months. Hooray!

I should have looked at this companies yelp reviews. I scheduled service on Thursday for a Saturday appointment since that is the only day off I have. The lady on the phone was great. My appointment was an 8-10 am time slot so I was not excited about waking up early on my day off but I did. I was awake at 7:45 waiting for my tech to come. By 10:15 I called and asked about an arrival time and the man on the phone let me know that the tech came and no one answered the door. There are quite a few reasons I know that is not true. First, I was awake and in my living room with the huge window facing the street the whole time, second I have 2 very nosey dogs who bark at EVERYTHING. Even a paper bag floating down the sidewalk, and they would not have missed a strange man knocking at the door without letting me know. I never received a call letting me know he was on the way and I did not receive a call saying the tech was at my home. Going to yelp I see that this is a common accurance for this company and I will take my business elsewhere. And believe I will let all my friends and family know not to waste their time calling this company, they probably won’t show.

The external plus internal approach they used was ultimately effective.

When they came they didn't even walk up in the attic, we have an opening that requires a ladder to enter, they went up put a few traps near the opening and then called it done. The space is high enough to walk around, they didn't even bother. Outside they placed two traps as well in our gated backyard. A few weeks later they came to seal up some space around pipes and such in the rear of the house and check the traps (no rodents). They require several trap checks as part of the contract. For all but the trap check that was done when they seal the openings, they call the morning they wanted to come and we were not able to be home. They came and charged us for the trap checks (which would have been impossible for them to check, with the yard gates locked (6 foot fences and the house locked). They left an invoice at the front door. They did this twice more, to get the "required" trap checks. $45 a pop for those checks. Finally, I told them to come for the last trap check, they came found no additional rodents and took the traps away. I paid my final bill and was happy to never use them again. Unfortunately, they appear to have forgotten to charge me for one of the trap checks that never actually happened and have continued to send me a bill after, I have repeated told them they never did the traps checks so I won't. Stay away from this company, one of the worst experiences I have every had with a firm doing work or providing a service in our home.

The technicians are excellent and professional. Our issues were fixed quickly. Unfortunately the information provided about fees and charges was confusing and we paid about 50% more than expected when we were quoted.

Delay in getting work done was long. When work was done it worked.

I'm quite happy with them. They seem together, they show up on time. There's just a slight problem, whether there is still a rat, all those things have been sealed up if there were rats in here before. So I may be seeing them again. I'm very happy with them and I would recommend them. I didn't really do a lot of price shopping. The price seemed kind of expensive for me, but I don't really have a basis for that. They basically charged me what they said they would charge me going ahead. There was an extra visit which they charge me and extra $50, which I didn't have a problem with. They were always on time. They were all very helpful and seemed to know what they are doing. I never used any other similar service, but I was very happy with them.

They were great. The price seemed good. They knew what they were doing. They came and they were very professional. They got it done right away. It was the first time I've used them.

Unknown landlord contracted with company but rats still here. May not be company fault

I have used Hitmen Termite and Pest for the past year and couldn't be happier with their service. They come out to my 3 cabins once a month and set rat traps and sometimes set out rat poison, come back the next month and redo the process. I get an email a few days before they come out and an immediate phone call each month right after their visit letting me know what results they have had with their trapping system. I am approx. 400 ft. from the river with fruit trees around so rodents are definitely an issue. I would recommend Hitmen to anyone who is asking for a referral.

We had a issue with insect bites in our bed room and first we called a bed bug company. They just did the spray without detecting the bed bug and charged us $1,500. Then, the situation didn't improve. We called a K-9 bed bug detection company and it turned out that we had no bed bugs. They suspect it might be some kind of mites. They recommended The Hitmen Termite & Pest Control and I gave it a shot. My technician, Vince came over and treated the bed room and set up some traps and rodent traps outside since our backyard is facing an open field.Also, we had a lot of spider webs and insects outside even though we had a bi-monthly pest control service from other company. So we switched to The Hitmen Termite & Pest Control for the bi-monthly pest control and Vince always spends good amount of time spraying eco friendly material thoroughly even arbors and fences, setting up rodent traps and removing all spider webs.We are very happy to have service from them and they really respect our unique family situation such as dogs and a baby.I highly recommend this business!!!

The owner arrived promptly, did the work carefully, and provided a detailed report.

It went well. There was a little bit of disconnect here and there, but everyone was friendly and it worked out. There are a few different groups that you have to coordinate with and so that was a little messy, but it worked out. They were always helpful when I called.

Left side gate wide open and dogs escaped on the prior service. They did not charge me for the next service ,because they did not notify me that they were coming. I talked to some manager and he was sorry about not notifying me. I was going to cancel the company's service when they contacted me. I felt bad, anyone can make a mistake, but I wanted to talk with the owner about it, but he never called.

I haven't actually expected their work. That was fine and they're very responsive. They appeared to be very quick and flexible in dealing with it. There's no negative but I still haven't seen what they have done.

This place was much better when it was Big Valley Termite. Now that they are Hitmen I will never do business with them again. I have a billing dispute with this company (who we have paid thousands of dollars to over the course of several years when they were doing business as Big Valley Termite). They apparently bought Big Valley Termite so now all of a sudden we are dealing with Hitmen. We had an old (but resolved) billing issue with Big Valley Termite. Suddenly, when Hitmen took over they started billing us for something that had been previously resolved. We would pay them if we thought we owed it. But we don't owe it. We are the victims of bad record keeping that was done with respect to our account. I am willing to go back in my records and prove we don't owe it, but that will take time (and I work an 80 hour a week job, have little kids at home, health problems and all kinds of other things that will make it so that I can't drop everything to find my paperwork). So, why is this a problem? Because the person who is calling me to request payment could not be more rude. She is combative, is unwilling to give me the time I need to look in my records for proof that we don't owe the money. She has left no room for the reasonable possibility that there has been a clerical error, and that perhaps she doesn't know everything given that she was not present during the dates in question. When I asked her to please stop being rude, she hung up on me!! I used to recommend this place to other people, but no more. Nobody deserves to be treated this way. I am a loyal customer to good businesses and I am willing to pay a good price for good services, but I will never do business with Hitmen.

There was no visible infestation that I could see disappear, so I can only take it on faith, but i do trust them. I called them because there were some tiny dead insects on the floor under the skylight. We did not know whether they were termites and whether they had come in thru the skylight. We had seen them once before - dead on the floor- and after we cleaned them up, they didn't come back for years-until now. Hitmen said they were indeed termites and were in the wood, so we hired them to do the job. However, the fact that we have not seen any in the last few weeks is not evidence that they are gone. I can only trust that Hitmen is honest and reliable.

They don’t use decon or internal poison. They use a trap instead and they will come and check the traps and dispose of them. I had a contract with them. They came around here 3 or 4 times. They showed me a layout of where the traps were. They did a thorough screening of my house to find access that the rats had. They put in heavy duty screening in the small areas they could have gotten through.

No success. Gentleman was friendly, experienced, professional; but no rats were caught and the problem continued. On the bright side, no squirrels or birds or other animals were harmed.

I called Hitmen because there was some serious scratching going on in our attic. I was told over the phone that it would be $95 to have someone come out and give an estimate (by the way, is SAYS free estimate on the website but later I was told that this didn't apply to rodents and that having someone come out and look around to give a price wasn't considered an estimate. WHAT??? He set no traps and did nothing else but try to find points of entry so yeah, what???) I was told over the phone that the $95 would apply towards any work that they did. I had them come out and the guy that came was very polite and proffessional. He was very careful and detailed as he looked for points of entry. However, after looking around and seeing the tracks around our home, he said it looked more like a raccoon. He then poked his head in the attic and saw zero signs of rats or mice and said that he was pretty sure I had a raccoon, but would not go further into the attic as he wasn't equipped to handle a raccoon. He gave me an estimate and left. When I called to see about making an appointment for the service to be done, I was then told that my 95 would NOT be applied after all. That they don't do that in any way shape or form. After talking to the manager as well, I was still told they wouldn't apply it. I felt cheated. No service was done, no traps set, and still I'm out the $95. It felt shady to me. I didn't give an overall F because of how polite and professional the man that came for the estimate was and because though they refused to honor what they said, the ladies were very nice on the phone. I won't shoot the messenger. Needless to say, I will be looking elsewhere.

This is how the company responded to the other reviewers complaint: "I'm sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused you. We do provide free estimates, our office manager responded to your email to let you know the technician would come out and evaluate the property at no charge. The office manager simply stated the price of what the inspection would be if you decided to go forward with the inspection. If you wanted us to do the physical inspection, setting of traps, and the report on what it would take to secure your property from unwanted guests then there would be a charge of $95. We would not have charged to simply send the technician out to go over your options. In no way would we have charged you $95 for our technician to go out and speak with you. We strive to provide our customers with the best customer service and apologize for any miscommunications that have happened." Based on my 3 phone calls with 2 office employees and a technician, this is definitely NOT how they perform estimates. They are lying in the above response.

We originally hired the Hitmen when we bought our house about 3 years ago. We contracted them for the every other month service for $80. They have been fantastic! In addition to the every other month automatic visit for outside spraying and cobweb removal, they will also come out for free in between visits, as many times as you want, to take care of any problems that pop up. We have had to call them a few times for ant trails, spiders etc that appeared. When we called, they came out within a few days, and the problem was taken care of.
