This is a complete waste of money. When I needed help when my AC went out I filed a claim. The temperature was over 107 degrees. So I called for service and got no answer. I had a local HVAC company come and repair my system. When I finally got confirmation for service, 5 days later, I was assigned an HVAC company with a horrible reputation and terrible reviews. I canceled my service request. When I contacted FAHW I was told, that because I went outside their system my claim was denied. Their warranty is basically worthless. I can not recommend this company and feel I wasted $600.

Here is a glimpse of how things went: We called in a broken washer SIX MONTHS AGO. The first contractor FAH assigned claimed the washer was fixed when it actually wasn't. Then FAH assigned another contractor who never called to schedule and never returned our calls. Eventually it turns out they don't even service our area. Then FAH calls a third contractor (Major Home Appliance) who is completely incompetent. They claim they have to order a new part, but when they schedule the appointment to come over with the part, they realize they ordered the wrong part. The next time they came with the part, they realized the part was broken. The third time they came they said they could not move the washer out of the closet for liability reasons and that we needed to get someone to do that first. And on and on for months. Finally I was so ****** off that I demanded FAH purchase a new washer (I wonder how long this would have dragged out if I had been a different type of customer who doesn't speak up). It was escalated up to someone named Tammy Sack, who dropped the ball on my replacement. In this whole period I called almost every week, spending about 40 mins per call with sub standards agent who don't understand English 100%. FAH never responded to my recent messages on their customer portal. I finally got a hold of an agent named Andres (x3960) last week who could confirm that FAH would pay me the cash value of the replacement washer (I chose this option b/c FAH will buy you a new unit but won't haul away the old one and won't disconnect the dryer if it's stacked on top of the washer. But Home Depot will). But when he asked me where to send the check, I gave him my home address, not the address of the warranted unit. He then told me that in order to enter this information (which they already had in their file anyway), he had to cancel the approval for my check and re-enter my mailing address. But then their computer system froze so he could not complete the payment. He said I had to call back later in the day to re-process the payment. I called back, and by then the agent told me the approval office had closed. I called back the next day and spoke with an agent named Elvira who had me on the phone for one hour while she kept having to check everything with her supervisors. She assures me the check is in the mail. I'm not holding my breath. This is just a snapshot of all of the frustrations my tenant and I have gone through to get this washer replaced after SIX months! You would think they could offer to NOT CHARGE ME PREMIUMS for the period in which they were not able to do anything about my washer and my tenant had to use a wash and fold service. That would be excellent customer service, but I guess the lesson is that FAH does not deliver excellent customer service.
Description of Work: In exchange for approximately $1200 in premiums annually, supposed to repair broken appliances such as washer and dryer. Eventually paid us the replacement cost of broken washer, but only after 6 months of delays and incompetence, and after countless calls from my partner who eventually demanded they pay us the cost of the broken washer rather than repair it. Money was eventually received.

county plumbing is TERRIBLE! they don't return calls, etc. I'm still waiting for my call back to clean the line after 4 days. (I called another plumber so I'm good now. Would cost $385 to clean out the line) County plumbing said that the only way the could clean the line was through roof vent. Guess what! That's not covered by home warranty. I was told toilet had water in it so that couldn't be pulled to clean out the line. (in the past - with other home warranty company, plumbers cleared the line through the shower drain even though I didn't have a clean out.) Good plumbers came and pulled the toilet and cleaned the line $250. If I had been given a choice with County plumbing the pull the toilet I would have 1. done it myself so he could have access or 2. paid that part of the claim because that's also not covered by FAHW. As it turned out, I had to pay $65 to be told I had a clog and lied to that the only way to clear it was through the roof. 2 I wasted 4 hours waiting to hear back from county plumbing only to have to call another plumber - who came out in 1.5 hours and cleaned the line. I had to pay $250 to the good plumber to clean the line but that was still less than the $385 I would have had to pay County plumbing on top of the useless copay of $65! I'm in the process of finding a better home warranty.
Description of Work: Nothing other than charge me $65 to tell me I had a clog. Ummm, yeah, I knew that.

I have a home warranty contract with First American Home Warranty. We tried repairing it. We put the part on it and it broke. What they ended up doing was ordering me a new microwave through Sears and Sears deliver it and install it.
Description of Work: They are my home warranty provider. I had a microwave issue.

After dealing with the company rep and supv, we contacted Home Depot to get an estimate f, THEYr a BRAND NEW SYSTEM. They sent out a local provider called YES Services. They came out that day in the afternoon, and we made a deal for a brand new AC/and heater system. It was installed the em.next day so by BED Time the following day we had AC again. It is was an exceptional system and timing was great. We contacted First American Home Warranty and they said, since we did not give them a chance to REPAIR (23 YR OLD) SYSTEM THEY would not negotiate a deal to split cost of new system. Thus a fail grade for service. I ask if an AC component fails 2x in 110+ temps, consecutive yrs, would you accept a new compressor again? We have found home warranty companies are NOT worth the $$$ they charge for the service. Yes, they say repair or replace, reality is repair only. This is 2nd company and have gotten same results. Repair is cheaper for them than replacing a faulty system.
Description of Work: REPAIR A 23 YR OLD AIR CONDITIONER SYSTEM A 2ND TIME FOR THE FAILED COMPONENT WHEN AMBIENT AIR TEMPS OUT SIDE WERE 112 DEGREES, INSIDE HOMe E WAS 101 DEGREES.. THE PROVIDER LISTED ABOVE WOULD ONLY AUTHORIZE REPAIR TO THE SYSTEM. SAME COMPONENT HAD FAILED THE SAME TIME OF YR THE PRIOR YR.
