About us

We have roofed for literally thousands of satisfied customers. Crandall Roofing was started in 1995. Stanley Klaus, the president and general manager of the company, has been a roofing contractor for over 25 years in Sonoma County. With a team of 5 project managers, as well as crew foremen, our company can guarantee that each and every roofing job is supervised and all of your needs as a property owner or property manager are met. Rigorous factory training and certification allows Crandall Roofing to offer you the most valuable extended full system warranties available in the industry. Fewer than three out of 100 contractors meet these requirements. Crandall Roofing is fully insured to protect you. All of our employees are covered by workers compensation insurance, and we carry $2,000,000 in general liability and property damage insurance. We maintain a thorough safety program to meet all Cal/OSHA requirements. I called this morning 8/22/17 and was told that an estimate would be 4 weeks and work would not be complete before the first of December...really don't know why they answer the phone...this information should be provided by Angies List. It is pertinent to doing any business with this company. I'll just move on...thanks very much.

Description of Work: Very competent and professional work by a local firm. The rep who prepared the bid was excellent and kept us informed, and he supervised the work for a new roof on our two-story house during the two days his crew worked. The crew foreman also answered our questions and gave us progress reports on the job. Very satisfied with the work of Crandall Roofing.

Description of Work: This job was more than just a redo of a roof. We had extensive dry rot of the eaves requiring replacement of 3 feet from the gutter back on the underlayment of the roof due to faulty installment of a gutter guard system about 10 years prior, by a different company. We also had extensive repairs needed on a workshop, detached from the house, so it could be reroofed at the same time. Big job, Big cost, great service!!

First of all Mr Crandall said it would take two days to replace the roof and he was right he brought in a big enough crew to accomplish the Job. They cleaned up all the trash and nails that fell from the roof after they were finished the first and second day. They also made sure to move all my potted plants and cover them with tarps if needed. This was the first time I have had to put a roof on my home and I have to admit I was a little stressed out about replacing my roof but it could not have gone more smoothly, they were right on time both days and everything was done very professionally I could not have been more pleased with the work. Thank you.Crandall Roofing Inc.

I had just purchased this 1700 sq.ft. home, knowing that it would need a new roof. I had 4 bids, but this company impressed me from the outset with their commitment to both quality and integrity. They were not the lowest bid, but not the highest either. The roof had 3 layers of shingles that had to be removed. It also lacked proper attic ventilation. I told Thomas, who I worked with through out the entire process, of my concerns with these two issues. In particular I was looking to correct the attic ventilation issue. I also planned to install 2 skylights at the same time as the new roof went on. Thomas gave me good information about correcting the attic ventilation issues, recommending a extra insulating barrier to be installed on top of the roof sheathing to seriously eliminate much of the heat. He did not push me to sign the contract or schedule the job, but said when I was ready to let him know and they would get on it. He spent time with me walking in my neighborhood, looking at the different roofs I liked and didn't like and gave me a good education on roofing in the process.. The day the work was scheduled to start, the entire crew was there on time. The job was scheduled for 2 days and seemed on time until a patch of rotten roof was discovered, which necessitated cutting into the ceiling of my family room, replacing tongue and groove boards, and then repainting. This was all handled so fast and very well--it was impossible to see where the roof had been opened at all. Because of this extra work, however, the job did go into the third day. I was impressed with how much care was taken with my property during the work. My plants were either removed or covered so they would not be injured by falling debris. The premises were cleaned each evening before the crew left. Great care was taken to find and pick up any roofing nails. Just after the roof was completed. we had some days in the 90s. To my relief, the inside of my house was noticeably cooler and very comfortable throughout the day and evening. Also, this company worked well with my contractor to make sure the new skylights were integrated carefully into the new roof. After all was completed, I realized I should have decided to include a gutter on the garage. I called Thomas and he had 3 men out the next day handle it. He himself arrived several days after everything was done and inspected the job thoroughly. There was one area that he will be sending someone out to correct to his standards. I was happy to pay him for a job well done. If only all the work done on this little house had been completed as well as this particular job! I am happy to recommend this company as highly as is possible.

The company installed a new shingle roof, new gutters (subcontracted to Superior Seamless Gutters), a skylight and leaf guards. We opted for the recommended leaf guard since we have a tri-level home making it difficult to clean the gutters. The work was done in two days according to the schedule we were promised. We are very pleased with the appearance and workmanship.
Description of Work: We received two estimates and Crandall was comparable to the other company. Crandall also provided us with numerous references and other assurances that the work would be down professionally and backed by a solid guaranteed. We discussed our needs and preferences with the company salesman, Thomas, who was very knowledgeable and responded expertly to all of our questions. He was quick to respond during the job when we had further questions/concerns.

We bought a home that had been partially re-roofed during a remodel. The new roof part was leaking. We also needed an estimate to have the rest of the roof re-done. We had Crandall out to give estimate for re-roof job and talk about leak which was still under warranty. Owner essentially said that the leak it wasn't his problem and wouldn't fix the leaking area even though it was clearly improper installation of flashing by them. Apparently warranty not worth paper it was written on. Furthermore, on the part of the roof that they had re-done, none of the flashings were painted, and we didn't realize how bad it looked until the roofers we did end up hiring painted them for us for free. For the re-roof bid, we got 4 bids. Bid included tearing off old roof, installing new roof, and new gutters. Their bid for the roofing was over 5K higher than the bid that we ended up going with. Their gutter bid was 3K, which sounded a bit high to us. I had a good seamless gutter company come out and do bid and he bid it at 1800. So not only did they pad the roof bid by 5K but then they added 1200 to the gutter job. Overall, wow, bad job and tried to rip us off on new work. Not a great way to do business, so we don't really recommend them.
Description of Work: Home was partially re-roofed by them several years ago.We asked them to1) Complete repair on leaking section of roof they had completed that was still under warranty.2) Bid for re-roof of rest of home

Response from Crandall Roofing Inc.
Dear Sir, In response to your review I would like to clarify a few facts that will shed light on the situation for any future readers. First, your roof was built by the prior owner of Crandall Roofing under an entirely different contractor's license number. I am a new owner, so this review no longer applies to MY company. Second, I did go out to look at your roof and spoke with your wife. As I explained to her at the time, the leak was a result of a design flaw in a metal flashing which was installed by the general contractor, not the roofer. Thus any issues caused by the flashing were not the responsibility of the former owner of Crandall Roofing, nor are they mine. Third, regarding the price of your roof; Crandall Roofing has built nearly six-thousand (6000) roofs in the Sonoma/Marin County areas since its inception. We have done so by maintaining competetive pricing not, "ripping people off". In fact, we have a fair price guarantee that we give out with every proposal which states: "We will match any equally qualified contractor's price for the same job specifications". Finally, we would have been happy to fix the problem for you at the time, however because the problem was caused by your general contractor, we would have needed to bill for our services rendered. The decision to get estimates on a new roof was entirely yours. If you are still dissatisfied with Crandall Roofing I am always happy to continue the conversation. We pride ourselves on our decade-long A+ Rating with the BBB. Stanley M. Klaus, General Manager/President

Crandall Roofing was the most professional company that came out to give estimates. The crew gave me what they said they would give me. That means a lot to me. They were not the cheapest or the most expensive but they gave me the best value for my money. I have had no leaks since the roof was put on. They cleaned up well and did everything I asked. I had no problems in any areas. I would definitely use them again if I needed to and I have referred them to several friends.
Description of Work: Crandall Roofing installed a new roof on my home, including tear off of the old roof.
