It went really well. Not a single complaint. George was closely involved along the way, the team was professional, they cleaned up, did a great job. Since finishing, he as called and asked if there are any corrections we've noticed, and he offered to fix them if there are any. The reviews on Angies List are well founded and well deserved.

They arrived on time and completed the job per the agreed upon schedule and budget.

We could not be more pleased with the job Gerge Parks did in putting a new roof on our house. Not only was his estimate considerably cheaper than others we had received, but the work performed could not have been better. He helped us choose a product - and he did not try to push us to a more expensive one than we needed or wanted. He was always responsive, did the work on time as promised. The installation was done with precision and professionalism, under his close personal supervision. Highly recommended!

George was always punctual and very polite. He brought samples tiles over to look at. My house also needed painting and he did that also. When his crew removed the old tiles they discovered that it had been laid over 2 old flat roofs. Unfortunately, and not his fault, it cost extra to remove the old roofs. He dealt with the permits and inspectors. I had a hard time figuring out what color tile I should use, and he helped me pick out a color that I love. With the new paint and tile roof, I feel like I'm living in a new home. He also called a couple of months after to make sure everything was ok. I couldn't be happier and I highly recommend him.

George came for an estimate and did his usual intricate and thorough inspection and evaluation of the work to be done(see my review 8/13/14). There was a lot to do but they did it all in one long day as promised. The painter was very careful not too get any paint on the gutters! Also, the woodwork on the rafters was done with precision craftsmanship. They actually looked like new and their integrity was restored. The job site was neatly cleaned up. George and his workers were easy to get along with. Highly recommended!!

The job was completed in a speedy 6 hours--and just hours before the Pineapple Express blew into town: perfect timing! I appreciate the responsibility they took to cover and protect the areas affected. The other bid I got said it was up to me. When it was discovered I needed not the anticipated 3 new sheets of plywood but 10 (ten!), I appreciated that they split the additional cost, with me covering the materials and them covering the labor. I am a completely satisfied customer!

They did a good job. They were professional, arrived on time, and cleaned up after themselves.

I was on a very tight budget, and had received 2 quotes that were so far apart in scope of work to be done & cost that I didn't know who to trust. I decided to get a third quote from George Parks Roofing & Painting to determine whether I was getting a fair price. George Parks was quick to respond to my request for a quote. He knew I had limited knowledge when it came to roofs, and he was very patient and had excellent communication throughout the process. He was very understanding of my budget and worked with me to stay within my means. In the end, I ended up paying less than I thought I would. The workers knew their craft and finished everything in the 3 days that were quoted to me. They left my home & yard clean, and free of debris. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone needing roof repairs or re-roofing. You will get a very fair price and fantastic work ethic!

It was truly a pleasure working with George Parks Jr. He was very respectful concerning my needs and extremely attentive to the work being done spending hours every day at the job site. He had his painters lay down an elaborate array of plastic sheeting(tarp)throughout the entire living room/dining room/den to catch debris falling from the open beam ceiling during the roof replacement. It was very effective in keeping my house clean. Also, when rain was predicted(unexpected) George made an emergency call to the roofer on late Saturday afternoon, in order to cover the entire roof with plastic. That night it showered and George called me at least 5 times to check how things were holding up-it stayed dry. The painters and roofers were also very friendly, seemed to enjoy their work and were competent and professional. I was able to communicate with them without any problem. George helped a lot in choosing the right roof and picking out the proper stain colors. He was very patient. The job took only one week. End result-my old house looks terrific and I'm very pleased. .

Mr. Parks' crew was prompt, neat, and did the job quickly before the one heavy rain we had this season. Mr. Parks is pleasant and courteous.

These guys answered all of our questions, and checked out our roof and other areas of the house for leaks. In the end, the source of our problem was not something they handled (issues with our windows), but they were great about checking out the issue for us. They returned phone calls promptly, and were courteous and pleasant. We will definitely keep them in mind for a roofing or painting issue in the future.

Overall, the work was timely and efficient....from tear off and prep, to completion and clean-up. All the workers-a total of 12 on the tear off team, then fewer for the rest of the work-were polite and cordial. The company worked with me on the price, and George, Jr. who diagnosed and assessed the job and supervised it, was a continual presence. I would recommend that anyone planning this costly a job educate yourself... shop price, and get a written prospectus with fotos from any and all consultants, to get a ballpark idea of relative differences for labor and materials. Having said that, I would HIGHLY recommend this company because, 1) they are a family business.....father and sons, and started by the grandfather. They are hands on, and appear to value the satisfaction of their clients, and 2) although I did find them through Angie's List, my first contact was several months ago with George, Sr., when I called to ask about getting my garage door painted......and he told me that because the job sounded small, he thought I could do better on price with a single person vs his company, as his overhead to dispatch his crew out would add extra cost. That was pretty honest and straightforward so I remembered that when the need for a new roof arose. Be advised that having a roof replaced is very noisy proposition, even with pros like these guys. It took 4 days of continual banging. I would recommend you stay out of the house as much as possible, especially if you have young children or pets. Also, tho I would recommend getting a city permit, be aware that pulling a permit apparently opens up the door for a city inspector to ding you on city code violations having nothing whatever to do with roofing. I needed to get a city certificate verifying that I have hard wired Carbon Monoxide detectors.......fortunately I had already installed them, but had I not, it would have delayed the roof work and added to the cost as the inspector would not "sign off" on work commencement until that certificate was obtained. The company did go to City Hall to obtain the certificate for me.

I contacted the Orange County "George Parks" office to get an estimate, somehow Mr George Parks of the Santa Monica office took over the job. It appears that company was busy, and they brought in George from the next county, who came out, made the estimate, scheduled the work and accepted all payments. The workmen did a fine job. The problem was with George who never met a promised schedule. On Tuesday I was promised the job would be done by Friday, actually, it was not completed until late Sunday afternoon, which was the only day that a full (4 man) crew was on the job. George arrived to collect final "job completion" payment at 11 AM on Sunday, I refused to pay before job was actually complete. The 4 man crew continued to work more than 4 hours, to finish and clean up. I gave the final/completion payment to the boss workman because George never returned.

My experience with them fine; they did fine.

The paint job (consisting of three different colors) looks beautiful. The guys did a really careful job, making sure to achieve complete coverage without cutting corners. Moreover, they did a nice, neat job, making sure first to cover our furniture and patio with plastic, and cleaned up thoroughly when they were done. They were also a pleasure to work with, communicated well, and genuinely cared about the quality of their work. Chris Parks skillfully managed the job throughout, from initial bid to determining level of customer satisfaction. He effectively explained the details of the job to my wife and me, and maintained communications with us throughout.

The tiles on our roof were installed about 12 years ago, but apparently they loosened over the years. In addition, many of the tiles were broken. Accordingly, George Parks' roofers had to perform a good deal of maintenance, and they did an excellent job. The tiles are now nicely aligned and appear to be adequately secured. Chris Parks explained the details of the job to my wife and me, and recommended some additional long-term maintenance (without applying pressure), which we are considering. We felt that he was honest, and that he didn't try to sell us anything that we did not need. Both Chris and his workers were a pleasure to work with, and everyone genuinely cared about the quality of the final product. Communications were maintained throughout.

The project went very well. I had contacted 4 contractors to obtain bids. Chris, one of George's sons (family owned business) responded the same day. He and I made appointment for him to come by the following day and take a look to give me a price. He promptly showed. Chris was very courteous, patiently explained in detail what the exterior needed and gave me a price then and there along with some options. The other contractors took days to follow up with me and one of them actually finally called after George Parks had completed the job. George Parks crew, usually 5-6 men, were there everyday working (except Sunday) for at least 9 hours in very hot temperatures above 90. Very hard workers and very polite. Chris and George came by everyday to check on the progress. I was quite pleased that the job was done in 5 days because the noise and disruption with any home project is a drag. One other contractor I had contacted quoted me two weeks to complete. Chris helped me select paint colors offering suggestions. Chris went the extra mile and had his crew paint an unattached wall in my backyard that I was not expecting in addition to my patio cover! I will definitely use George Parks company again!! I have received many positive comments about the exterior look of my home from neighbors and friends.

I had to hire an electrican to come replace all the wiring. They did an okay job and we haven't had any issues yet.

This was an amazing experience. We called to ask for an estimate for a new roof. They came out the very next day to look at the job and much to our delight, knowing that we were prepared to replace the roof, rather than rip us off, they told we did not need one and instead suggested a tune-up for a fraction of the price of a new roof. Then they completed the job the same day! We found them to be professional, knowledgeable and most important, honest. Eventually when we do replace the roof we will absolutely call them. Highly recommend.

Estimate too high, didn't hire.

It went very well. George got it done quickly and, although it hasn't rained yet, it appears the leak is fixed (again, the leak was from the condensation pipe/vent).

workers showed up when schedulaed and started job. removed ridge caps and panted vents. photos were taken before and after job but were never given to me despite several attempts.

Member Comments: We had called George Parks on Thursday, and George Jr., returned my call and we set up an appointment for the next day. I had obtained other bids and selected George because he had a fair price and was able to pass through paint discounts which would not be available later in the month. We signed the contract that day, and they were able to start to work immediately. They brought over the power wash equipment and cleaned the house to let one dry before we started to paint. The house needed significant preparation work, sanding and stucco repair which took a few days to complete. The workers started each day by 8:00 am and worked full days. George Jr. would always come by in the morning to check on the status of the work and making sure we were satisfied with the progress. He applied paint samples to the house so that I could see how they looked. George then went over the overall schedule indicating times at which he needed inputs from me such selection, paint color selection etc. The house painting went very smoothly, but I had an issue with the trim color. From the sample painted on the house, it dried much lighter than I expected. George Jr., worked with me to find a solution, as the gutters were the same color. He brought new color samples, from which I picked a darker color and he had his staff repaint the trim and gutters. At the end of the each day equipment and paint were cleaned up and put away. George Jr. was highly involved throughout the work and I think that its completion in the span of one week attests to his planning and attention to detail. George always made clear that he was committed to my satisfaction. He was very responsive to the few minor concerns we expressed over the course of the work, such as minor re-painting of small areas. At completion we did a complete walk-around and George made it a point to call us the week after to see if I had discovered any problems. I was very pleased with the whole experience using George Parks Roofing and Painting company and would hire them again.

I needed a new roof because old roof was leaking like crazy. My roof is flat and someone had put shingles on it, which is NOT what is supposed to go on a flat roof. George came out and quoted me a very fair price to replace whole roof. He and his crew were great. Very responsive, courteous. New roof is great, no leaks!

When I called George to get some work done, he was very unprofessional, unhelpful and down right rude.
