Pacific & Santa Monica Air Duct

Did not finish the job on first try, had to call them back to complete the work. They forgot to clean the main air intake.

They were excellent. Charles, the owner, went out of his way to make sure that everything was done correctly. He drove 15 miles to the nearest store to get the two correct furnace filters that we needed. He didn't even charge us for that. He's a very nice person. We were very comfortable using him.

Charles was extremely professional and very pleasant to work with. He was fast and efficient and my floor heaters look amazing considering they haven't been cleaned out since 1985. Great job!

Great attitude from the first call all the way until the end. I was even late to meet him and there was no guilt trip. I live in Thousand Oaks and he made the drive from Santa Monica gladly saying he services this area a lot. How refreshing to meet a business owner who actually wants to work. I contacted the office and asked for Charles because of Angie's List. I was called back promptly. An appointment was made and kept with my wife and there were no negative factors to report.

The cleaning went as expected, I checked out the finished job and all was done well. Not much else to say, the guys were professional and were non-obtrusive to others in my household.

Air duct cleaning is ripe for being taken to the cleaners. I had a less than honorable person three days prior quote me $200 on the phone and show up and tell me that it was going to cost $925. Needless to say, I pointed him to the door. Santa Monica Air Duct arrived on time and with no gimmicks. It's obvious that he has been doing this for quite sometime. He was quite thorough going room to room for each air vent. He even pointed out two minor issues and advised me how to fix them. He offers a 1" air filter, so know what type of filter your system uses. Knowing mine used a 5" filter, I purchased online prior to his arrival. We were quite happy with the cleaning and would use them again.

I initially contacted Charles to get an assessment of my situation and price estimate over the phone and found him to be very courteous and knowledgable and his pricing seemed very very competitive. Based on that, I set a service appointment with him. He arrived on time and I appreciated how he took the time to explain what he was going to do and why. I also liked his measuring of the air particulates before and after the cleaning proceedure so I could gauge the success of the work hoping that my dollars would be well spent. Sure enough, the initial readings were sky high and a visual examination of the ducts made it clear that this was definitely a good thing that I was doing. Charles performed his proceedures in a most timely fashion and I also appreciated how he was careful not to damage or marr any of the nearby furniture with his cleaning hoses. He was very conversant and I certainly learned quite a bit about the importance of clean ducts as well as the many different air filter options. Thanks to him, I now know where to go to order better quality filters to further improve my living environment. When the proceedure was complete, the final measurement readings were dramatically lower and I really felt like I got more than my money's worth. I strongly recommend him to anyone seeking to improve their home's air quality.

Excellent. After checking Angie's List I called them in the morning and they came at 1:30 in the afternoon of the same day to my surprise. They went right to work in a businesslike manner and did their job. I would recommend them to anyone.

They were late. The guy didn’t fix the problem. They offered warranty, found more lint, cleaned it and it is fine now.

We had a really great experience with Charlie. First off he took my call and showed up a couple days later like he said he would do (important start). Apparently, we really needed the service and he took a lot of time to clean each vent, vent shaft and even cleaned our dryer vent for free. He talked us into buying a permanent filter which he should deliver next week but his prices were much better than I was expecting. Great experience and I'll think we're going to have people in our building use him as well.

Really great service, professional, efficient and nice!

Totally horrible experience from almost the beginning to the end. The technician generally was late and non responsive. The equipment he installed broke 2 or 3 times. This past month when the weather got warm again the system again was not working properly. I had several estimates from different A rated Angie's List companies. Every single company characterized the work as a disaster.

I called Pacific & Santa Monica Air on Thursday afternoon to get a quote on dryer vent cleanout because I suspected a rodent had gotten into the dryer vent from the outside. There were rat droppings in the vent and it was beginning to smell. The owner Charlie took my call and arranged to meet the next day around noon. He arrived on time (which can be a challenge since he had to drive over 60 miles through LA to Anaheim Hills). It took about an hour to clean the vent and sure enough he got the rat. Charlie, job well done.

After almost getting scammed by another "dryer vent cleaning company" (served us right for not going through Angie's List) we called Pacific Santa Monica Air Duct to open up our dryer vent flap that had been stuck by stucco. We live in a brand new condo complex and the only way to access our vent is either from the inside or with a 40ft ladder from the courtyard. Charles the owner came out to the appointment and he surveyed the location of the vent even before he came in to introduce himself! He confirmed that the vent is blocked by timing the flame of the dryer, sure enough flame comes on and off in 10-15 seconds, so the machine can't properly heat up to dry clothes. Long story short, he used an auger to open up the space and voila! Pieces of stucco that was blocking the vent flap came off and out! Before Charles came to fix the vent I was drying a medium sized load for over 2.5 hours and even then the clothes would come out semi dry. Now I've done 4 loads of laundry in under 1.5 hours!! Charles was very responsive and professional. We will forward his information to our HOA & Property Management to take care of our condo complex's air ducts and dryer vents! Thank you, Pacific & Santa Monica Air Duct for putting back the joy of laundry day to our lives!

They ended up having to come back and they did not fall short on their responsibilities. They gave us a senior discount and and Angie's List discount.

The two technicians showed up on time. Their names were Charles the owner and David. The both of them were very personable and professional. They performed a particle scan of my air quality in our home at various air vents. They gave me pictures and video of my duct work as they removed each and every vent. They ran a vacuum hose with a round brush from their HEPA vac system through the entire duct work back to my furnace, then changed the filter with a 3m filter and sanitized all the duct work. When they opened up my HVAC unit, they noticed that the return duct was not connected and there was a leak, so they repaired it, at no extra charge. As I explained to the owner, we were getting a very bad smell every time we turned on our furnace. They finally found a dead rat on the furnace and removed it. They informed me that there was an opening, where the rodents were getting in and suggested to me to get a pest control company to rat proof the house. My HVAC service contract company never told me about this situation. They discovered rat droppings around the furnace and vacuum all of it. These guys were so nice to me and I can't remember when I had contractors that did an excellent job and were that caring. David went up to the roof and put his gauges on my condensing unit and charged my unit with 2 lbs of R-22 for free.!! Now my air conditioning is freezing in my place. They also included my dryer vent at no extra charge. I now have Pacific and Santa Monica Air Duct on a HVAC service contract, as well as cleaning my air ducts on a yearly basis. I highly recommend Pacific and Santa Monica Air Duct.

He was on time, gave me a good price, and did a great job. I liked that he was personable, honest, and I thought that he was easy to work with.

Technician was running a little late but called to so advise. Worked quickly, cleanly, and efficiently.

Shopped around and they had the best price by far. The web site looked similar to other air duct cleaners. Got a quote over the phone. It took about 1 1/2hrs for 2 men to clean my 4000 sq ft house. When speaking to the other companies that wanted more money the other companies said that it would take all day. It just seemed like these guys cleaned the area of the duct near the vent and did not clean very far into the air duct. I have never had my ducts cleaned before so I do not know if other companies do a more thorough job of cleaning the vents.

It was a horrible experience - the owner has a bad attitude, and he lied about performing a full service.

Overall, I was very happy with the service and the cost. I have been quoted $700 and more to clean my ducts. I didn't think that was a reasonable fee for the service. So I went onto Angie's list and shopped around. Pacific and Santa Monica Air Duct had alot of good reviews so I called them. I called and got an estimate over the phone based on the size of my house. I made the appointment and two guys including the owner of the company came out to do the service. They stayed for two hours and did a thorough cleaning of my ducts. I haven't had my ducts cleaned ever and I've owned the home for 7 years! The cost was exactly what they quoted over the phone. I definitely plan on using them every year now. Do call Pacific and Santa Monica Air Duct, you can't go wrong.

Charlie returned my call right away. He was very personable and prompt for our appointments. I first called him to come clean the dryer vent. He did that very quickly and even walked me through the process as he did it. After he was finished he asked me how long it had been since my air ducts had been cleaned. I said, I thought about 3 years ago. He asked to see the intake vents and I led him around the house to the various vents and HVAC units. Two of the three vents were black with filth, and it was time for cleaning and maintenance on all of the units. One of my filters was a custom size that nobody had ever offered to have made for me, but Charlie told me he could call the company right away and have a washable filter in a couple of days. I actually had a regular service appointment scheduled with Lumas Air the following Monday, but I called and cancelled it. It even cost me money to cancel, but I really liked Charlie and liked the idea of having one guy that knows me and my house doing these services in the future. Lumas always sent somebody different. It was always hit or miss if I was going to feel confident in who showed up. I scheduled a time for the following day for duct cleaning and HVAC servicing and cleaning. Charlie and another guy, David showed up on time and proceeded to do their work. Prices were upfront and fair, and he gave me the Angie's List discount without me having to ask. *Side Note - My family and I are not as close to the beach as we used to be, and I have felt like allergies have been worse in the past four years in this house. Charlie suggested installing a hepa filter on one of my HVAC units and testing the difference in air quality. It's something I have researched, and I'm taking his advice. I'll write an update after I've tried it out.

Charlie is very personable and easy to deal with. He showed up and got right to work cleaning the ducts, which were in desperate need of attention. He was very efficient and left everything as he found it. He's even helping to get us new registers for our vents at wholesale cost! I think Charlie did a great job and would definitely use him again.
