We paid Sean about 40% when we signed the contract in February, and the design phase went fine. But when it came time to begin installation in June he was a couple weeks tardy. He installed just the boxes and we made another (contractually obligated) payment. But then he stopped working on the job, mostly stopped answering phone calls, and let his voice mail fill up so that we couldn't even leave him a message. On the rare occasion when we were able to talk to him, he'd promise that he would show up very soon, but these promises were repeatedly broken. Eventually around the end of September, he installed some of the doors and drawers, but then stopped again. Only when we contacted another contractor to try to pick up the pieces did Sean come back and do a bit more work. Now it's almost December, the job still isn't complete, and Sean is once again unreachable. Because of the long delays between the rare occasions that Sean or his associates did any work, the results are inconsistent and showed many mistakes that seem to be the result of simply having forgotten exactly what needed to be done. Other defects seem to be simply errors in execution.
Description of Work: Sean designed, built, and installed new custom cabinets for our remodeled kitchen.
