Overall the experiences was fantastic. Jose came out for an initial meeting, inspected the entire yard and after asking what my budget was came up with a number of different options that all fell within what I was able to spend. There were even some things things that I initially wanted done that he recommended not being worth the cost and then offered a more economical solution. He was always both aware of the budget and at the same time concerned with the overall look of the final outcome. After the initial estimate, which came in at 15% less than what I had told him I wanted to spend (a pleasant surprise), we set a date for the project to start. After suggesting some ideas for some new plants, Jose then invited me to accompany him on a drive through a nursery where I was able to see exactly what he was suggesting and make changes according to my own tastes. This was a great way to see how different plants looked together and really kept me involved in the design of new yard. After that the demolition work began and except for some delays because of the weather everything went extremely smoothly. I am thrilled with the final result and came away extremely impressed with Jose's team, his attention to detail and his knowledge of landscaping.

Jose arrived at the scheduled time and completed the work. A great experience overall.

We ended up getting somebody that was a little more local and more a gardener on the street. Everybody we interacted with was really very friendly and for what they were offering, they were not asking that much. His name was Jose Barba. We ended up doing the work ourselves. They were professional.

As the owner of Brodey and Brodey Landscaping Design, I'm sensitive to the bottom line and how it impacts my business. Money of course is the obvious bottom line to most people, but just as important to me is customer service. From the first day we met to the final day we shook hands and hugged over a job well done, Jose exemplified professionalism and great customer service while being a part of a private school landscaping project. Communication is integral to my business and determines how smoothly my jobs run and Jose understands its importance. He was proactive in relaying information that impacted the job and returned my calls promptly. For my own research I've read hundreds of customer of reviews on Angie's List for an array of services and good communication is a highly valued asset that's common to most all of them. Jose understands that. I also want to acknowledge Jose's crew and how great they were in assisting me in completing this project. They know what they're doing, did what was asked of them and offered solid input when I needed it. So the bottom line for my business (and my customers) is money, customer service, knowledgeability and professionalism. And it doesn't hurt that he's the only contractor I work with that hugs it out with me at the end of the day. I'd hire him and his crew again in a hot minute. Matter of fact I've already got him steered toward my next project. Thanks Jose!

The job never happened. We set up an appointment to meet but Jose never showed up, never called to say he wasn't going to make it, didn't call to reschedule, and failed to reply to my email when I wrote to ask him why he hadn't shown up. I waited for him for the better part of a day. I feel his actions were unprofessional and that he wasted my time.

The crew from Barba Landscaping worked very hard. They were efficient, professional and hauled away all the waste and debris. A couple of the plants did not do well and Barba Landscaping replaced them without any additional cost. They really did a fantastic job. Our backyard is absolutely beautiful now. The guests from the wedding commented how the backyard looked like a park. The backyard is a favorite gathering place now for our family. It's a tranquil haven. When I'm in the backyard, I forget I'm in the middle of stressful and busy L.A.

Everything went well. Jose worked within my budget. Showed up and did the work in the time as he had laid out. It took a couple of weeks. If you had pictures of before and after you would not believe it was the same yard. The old grass was removed. Sprinklers were installed front and back yard. A new lawn was installed along with plants bordering the side and front of the house. The small backyard was mostly concrete and it just need plants by the back wall. A new vinyl fence was put in along with gates on both sides of the house. Decomposed granite was used on the sides of the house instead of using gravel. Jose was very communicative and kept me up to date on everything that was going on. I would highly recommend him to anyone else. A lot of people in the neighborhood complemented on the good work and thought it looked great.

No work was performed much less even estimated. I called on Aug 17th and set up an appointment with Jose for an estimate on landscaping and driveway replacement for 11:00 AM, Thursday, Aug 19th. He didn't show up or even call. I called him and he said, and I quote, "oh, yeh. Beverly Hills. I forgot" I said good bye and hung up. End of story!

I spoke with Jose and he came out on Saturday. He examined the property which includes 2 slopes in the back yard, one quite large. He gave me an estimate for cleanup and included cleanup in the front yard as well as trimming a parkway tree. He said he would get back to me when he could start. He made arrangements for the following Wednesday. He and his worker arrived on time. The amount of work was more than a day and, in fact, took three days to complete. Jose brought in two of his maintenance people on Saturday and they did an outstanding job in finishing the planting, pruning, weeding, and checking out the sprinkler system. The total price included completely installing new ground cover on the lower slope in the back yard in addition to the slope and general front and back yard cleanup . I was so impressed with Jose's service and attitude, I have hired him to take over the maintenance of my yards. He is responsive to phone calls and emails. I highly recommend Barba Landscaping.

Barba Landscaping and Design was absolutely fantastic! The crews showed up on time and were very efficient. Jose's crew found mistakes that had been made with the old lighting and wiring and fixed them. The wiring issue was a safety hazard and we were grateful they took care of it. Our backyard had a lot of potential, but needed a major overhaul. Now, it's a beautiful, peaceful haven. The whole family enjoys spending time in the backyard. I was so impressed with the work Barba Landscaping did, that I hired them to do the maintenance and gardening regularly. I would highly recommend Barba Landscaping to everyone! They are dependable, trustworthy and stand behind their work.

There was no service. I made an appointment with his Jose Barba for Sat 9:00AM. He never showed up and has not returned my phone call. I was expecting him around 9:00AM this morning. I have been calling him since with no response. I have only gotten his voice mail.

The team with Barba Landscape was knowledgable, experienced and friendly. I felt confident from the start of our dialog that the work performed would be good quality and fairly priced. The team worked seamlessly with an excellent independent designer that Barba Landscape brought to the effort. After the job was completed, I had one minor issue, which was immediately addressed with the same high quality delivered throughout the job. Some highlights: timely, responsive, friendly, neat/clean at site, reliable, trustworthy, on budget.

Over the years we've had many so called "sprinkler experts" install, repair, and replace sprinklers - most of them didn't know what they were doing and were only interested in collecting their fee. Jose is the first one who not only knew what he was doing but was sincerely interested in doing a first-rate job. Jose and his crew are a pleasure to work with and I recommend them without reservation.

Jose and his workers showed up early each day and went right to work. He employs a regular crew and does not fill in with day laborers. Much of the work required a lot of physical effort to get large rocks into the backyard, as well as large plants and trees. He also found that some of the old sprinkler system had corroded galvanized pipe and was inadequate for proper water pressure for the new plants. He replaced it with PVC, and replaced old the leaky valves with brass ones. He rechecked the wiring on the system and found several shorts. He also made several excellent suggestions about plant and rock locations. He and his crew were a pleasure to work with and I recommend him without reservation.

They delivered plants on time and worked very efficiently. Were very clean and courteous. Careful not to disturb any other surrounding items in garden. Left on time and were very respectful.
