Western Exterminator

We have had some problems with a particular insect that won't go away. They have been out several times to take care of that. They have been here four times since the initial visit. My wife calls them, they come back and spray some more stuff. They haven't charge me for the return visits. They give real good service. The guy is very professional, and responds back. When we have a problem, she will call them, leaves a message, and he will call right back. He will set up an appointment, even if he has to stop by after hours, and do another spray.

We had this insect problem about a year ago. They have came out a few times to stray again. They only charged for the first visit, all the follow ups were because they didn't get all the insects from the previous visits. They have excellent service, the techs are very professional. They are responsive to get back to us when we need them to come back.

Western came in with a high bid compared to other providers. Everything else was fine.

Kevin was well within the window of time and called us 30 minutes before he shown up. This was great as we could be out and about and beat him back to our house. He explained everything that he was going to do and answered all of our questions. We decided to sign up for the ever 2 month service since we have seen a lot more activity around our house and yard probably due to our drought here in California. He was very neat putting everything back when he moved items out of the way. He put no pressure on us to sign up for the monthly service once we ask about it. In fact, he said that the every month service was probably overkill for us. I have used them before for termite inspection and Steve came out for that. I am very pleased with how professional and friendly both Kevin and Steve are.

From the initial point of contact and through job completion, my interaction with inspector/sales-consultant and my experience with WEC was very very pleasant, responsive, professional and reasonably priced. Sales consultant worked with me to make sure all my concerns and job requirements were documented prior to job start. I work with contracts in my job and it was nice to see a company like WEC not shy away from listening to and working with customers to define, document, reasonably price a job and then satisfactorily complete the job to make a customer (me) happy! I really appreciated WEC being responsive to all forms of communication: email, txt, phone, mail. This is very important to me. Tech/Staff Member (Troy) that performed actual work is top notch. He treated my house like it was his own and went the extra mile to make sure job was completed properly. Job took longer than he originally thought as WEC only deployed 1 person instead of 2 as originally planned due to a scheduling conflict. But the person never complained once about this. At first, I was worried about this, but half-way through the job, I knew I was in good hands. I will be using WEC for my regular every other year inspections and follow-up work. By the way, I did get an inspection and bid from another company based in Paso and that experience was very cold and disconnected. They missed their 1st inspection appointment and acted like it was our fault. Very defensive and unapologetic. I wholeheartedly recommend WEC. And No, I have no friends or relatives that work for them.

WEC was quick and responsive to my call. I had called another company which took a couple of weeks to get me an estimate. WEC people showed up when they were supposed to. The technician who did the trapping was knowledgable and persistent, coming back every few days, making sure that the problem would be taken care of, which I appreciated.

Our account was handled by Steve, who is upbeat and professional. We had a lot of questions and he answered all of them easily in our first meeting and then others in a follow-up "pre-fumigation meeting" when he brought us the fumigation bags you use to protect your food, medicine, etc. We did get a quote from another company and it was about $150 less, but we learned that all the local fumigation companies subcontract to the same fumigator - so you should base your decision on customer service and follow up not price. We picked Western Exterminator for this reason. They have excellent customer service. One of the areas where Western Exterminator stood out in terms of customer service is that they agreed to repair any damage that might inadvertently happen at the house and dispose of any dead wild animals that might have been in our crawl space during the fumigation (neither of these happened - no damage and no dead animals). The other company said they would not be responsible for any damage they caused (!) and they would not remove any dead animals. Western Exterminator's warranty is 5 years. As mentioned previously, the other company charges less - and then gives you the option of paying an annual fee to warrant your home from further termite damage for as long as you own it. As long as you keep paying that annual fee, if you get termites anytime in the future, they say they'll re-tent and re-fumigate for free. If you do the math though, the standard fumigation fee plus the annual fee the other company charges times 5 years costs more than the extra $150 you pay up front with the 5 year warranty with Western Exterminator. Also, termite infestations are hidden and don't show up for 5 years. So, no matter what company you use, you can only expect the termites to not be noticeable for 5 years. The reason we rated punctuality as a D had nothing to do with Western Exterminator and everything to do with the fumigator. We were told he got stuck at a job in Atascadero and, thus, instead of showing up at 7:30am as we were told by Steve, he didn't arrive until 12:30pm - 5 hours later! Steve did keep us informed, but this created a lot of issues on our end as we wanted to meet with Gerardo, the fumigator, in person and so we had to back out of all our plans during that 5 hour time period. There is nothing more fun than waiting for someone to arrive - and then they are even later than late. Unfortunately, we did have to leave at noon and was never able to meet Gerardo and his crew. Steve instead handled the issues we wanted to discuss with Gerardo and assured us that our house was safe (it was), but we would have preferred to have at least met the person to whom we were giving the key's to our precious home. Thus, it's important for you to know that the time period you are given for your fumigation can slip. We were led to believe that due to this slippage, the fumigator had to increase the amount of fumigation put into our home, which naturally made us nervous upon returning. Fortunately, there were no issues, but hopefully Steve has learned to warn future customers that timelines can slip. I would use Western Exterminator again, mainly because of the good customer service. Oh, and they let you keep your fumigation bags. The other company asks you to return them, which seemed rather silly to us - not to mention you are then on their timeline for unpacking everything and, of course, that means you could be given used bags for your own fumigation. I like the idea of recycling, but it just seems safer for us to recycle the bags than for the extermination company to be handling that. It's vital that these bags not have any holes or tears in them so using new bags seemed more cautious - another plus for Western Exterminator.

Had them out twice. First time checked around the inside and outside of house. Sprayed for spiders, etc. Had to leave the house for two hours after they sprayed. Second time checked all around house and inside house and under house. Pointed out dry rot and showed me the area that had to be replaced and painted.

Kevin arrived, explained what he was going to do in order to complete a full termite inspection, did the work just as he had explained and did it in an efficient time (no breaks, no stopping to chat with someone on the phone), then came back to my door to explain his findings. While explaining, he used a simple map of my house to help me fully understand what the problems were. Finally, he told me that he would return to his office, draw up his findings on the computer, and mail out his report the next day. I received the report 2 days after the inspection was completed. The whole experience was as painless as could be, and I always felt great about my decision to call this company for a termite inspection!

They spray indoors and out, remove cobwebs and alert you to any potential problems you may have.

We were very pleased with their work. Their representative, Steve Adkins, was very friendly and he explained the whole process to us in detail. All of our questions and concerns were addressed by him in a professional manner. His workers were also prompt and efficient. We would definitely recommend this company to others and also use them again in the future.

We've used them for 10-12 years, which speaks volumes for them. When we have any type of problems we call them and they come out and fix it. The charges we pay every quarter cover it. Their price is fair and we haven’t contacted any other companies for pricing.

They had a good price. They didn't kill any shrubs, they did fine.
