+ -1 moreInitially I was impressed with Tim brown roofing. I called seeking an estimate for a new room on a house that is just barely 1000 sqft. Tim brown himself told me "oh no problem we should be able to get that done for you for around $5500" awesome! He told me he just needed to check out the location in person to verify the size of the house and the job etc. Fast forward over a week never hear back I called multiple times and never got a call back eventually I got a hold of Tim who told me he still hasn't gone out to look at the house but he will for sure tomorrow and get back to me. So the next day I call Tim and he tells me he didn't go out to the property but that he "googled earthed" it and the price is gonna be about $10,000. Not quite sure what google earth revealed considering you can't really see any detail. But i I would recommend not using Tim brown roofing. I went another local highly rated Angie's list roofer who did a fantastic job and final cost was half of Tim browns quote

+ -1 moreQuality workmanship at an affordable price. Several of our neighbors have used him and recommended him. In two and half days, they removed old shake roof, replaced some damaged wood (minimal), put down new felt and new 30 year composition roof. They were prompt, efficient, courteous, and paid attention to detail. They painted all the vents emerging from the roof to match the roof. Finished off the job by using a leaf blower to clean the roof and the gutters. Also swept up all the debris around the house.
Description of Work: Reroofed our 1500 square foot house.

+ -1 moreTim was very good at communicating. He gave a written estimate and stuck to the estimate even though some his costs increased due to unforseen issues. The guys that were actually on the roof were very good, very professional. I appreciate that they show up on time and work. They weren't constantly on a break. the 2 guys did the whole job in under a week. Unlike other companies we had give bids, Tim didn't require any money down to start working. His price wasn't the lowest but close to it. it was fair as compared to the other bids. He also provided us with proof of workmen's comp and liability insurance, which was important to us. Would definitely recommend him.

Description of Work: Our house was needing a new roof. We had some leaks the winter before and we knew it had to be done! My husband shopped around for a roofing company and, with some local recommendations, decided to go with Tim Brown Roofing. His crew was courteous and cleaned up when done. They found some underlying plywood board problems, and those had to be replaced, which increased the cost, but ensured the integrity of the roof.

+ -1 moreWe are extremely pleased with the work that Tim Brown's roofing company provided from start to finish. They did an excellent job and we felt very comfortable with him and his employees. They all acted in a very professional manner and we would recommend his company to anyone. It should be noted that when I searched Tim Brown's Roofing company on Angie's List, I noticed he received what I thought was an unfair "F" rating. Apparently this was from a person who never had any work done and was unhappy only because Tim did not return his call. Despite of this rating, we still decided to hire Tim Brown and we are glad that we did.
Description of Work: We decided to call the Tim Brown Roofing company for a roof repair estimate. We had a lot of leaks from the last rain storm. Tim Brown was referred to us by others who had hired him. When we called his company for an appointment, we received a quick response from him. Tim came over with his associate Paul (Swinson). Both men were friendly and very professional. They inspected our roof and Tim gave us a fair estimate based on the damages he initially observed. The company (unknown name) who had installed our roof over 20 years ago apparently did not do a good job (due to a lack of code requirements back then). Tim showed us the dry rot damages on several facia boards all around our house and also explained that some of the boards under the roof tiles would have to be replaced. He then prepared two estimates: one, if we decided to keep our old concrete tiles and another, if we decided to replace it with brand new tiles. Both estimates were fair; however, we decided on a new roof because we were not happy with the old tiles and several of them were broken. Tim assured us that our new roof would be installed properly by his team of professional workers. Tim also said he would do a lot of the work himself.

+ -1 moreI called to get an estimate on two roof leak areas of concern. I spoke with a person that seemed to be a calling service. They indicated Mr. Brown would vcall me as soon as he could. No specific date was mentioned. As of this date I have not heard from Brown roofing at all. This is no way to treat a potential customer. It is very unprofessional.
Description of Work: No services provided. Mr. Brown failed to return my original call and my followup call.
