Well, I ONLY had him back because of his cute dogs which he did not bring! : ( He was supposed to raise my side ramp 5+ inches...instead the ramp had about the same vertical height but then also had a 5 inch step....but was cut back so as not to affect the steepness of the ramp at all.. He had a bad attitude the moment he showed up and threatened to leave...I should have let him...as I have since had to hire someone else to redo the ramp back into steps! I would give him an F instead of a D, but he sort of did what I asked him to do...so I thanked him and paid him even though I was not happy....and also realized he did not do as good of a job on the last job he did for me as I thought....he left a 2x4 inch rectangular "hole" in the side of the lattice and refused to remove some pavers saying the grass would grow over the small amount of dirt he placed over them......the grass did not grow...after several attempts... so my hubby had to take the pavers out...and reseed a few more times......I would change my last grade for him from a B to a C-

With a few miscommunications and weather issues it all got done in 10 hours on Monday. Was supposed to be done on Saturday but I only got my estimate on Saturday which was 375 and WE had to get all the parts which was another 300! So it WAS more expensive than we thought, but I'm so glad it's DONE! He has two very adorable dogs he brings with him and frankly it's the real reason I'm having him back to do more work...because I love dogs and don't have any right now : ) The plan is for him to do more work this Saturday on a ramp to cost only 100.00 hopefully total as we have some left over wood and paint..so fingers crossed and I'll get back to you on how that goes. But over all.....I am happy with the job and glad it's done. It was VERY hot and humid Monday the 20th of July, I'm sure he would have been done sooner had it not been so hot....but he charges by the job and not by the hour...so I was glad about that too...I'm sure this job was harder that he originally anticipated, but he didn't charge us any extra after all...but be SURE to write down or get a copy for yourself of what is to be done in writing...so when the going gets tough...you can refer to the agreement! He is on time or early so be ready. His van is plain white with back up beeping...so you can hear him! : )
Description of Work: Took out old front steps and cut back some tree roots, put in cement pavers and put in new steps and painted them.

Mario is a very talented guy he assembled my bike in no time flat and was very kind and courteous to myself and my wife. He is a very nice person and can be trusted with making you happy and completing the task at hand and he is a very good person . I called him afterwards to tell him he did an excellent job and to also let him know he left one of his screw drivers at my home, well when he came over to pick up his screw driver , We asked Mario to help us with our kitchen fluorescent lights and he said he would be happy to take a look at it for us, well he not only took a look he installed all the lights and coverings and I asked him afterwards how much? he responded "don't worry about it this ones on me! I was very grateful for his help if you need a dependable and very friendly guy call Mario he is very knowledgeable in many areas of home repair he is the complete package a true experienced Handy man with a great attitude! Description of Work: Mario was hired to cut a sink hole in a new butcher block countertop and repair a drain leak in the master bath. The cost estimate for those items were $300 plus $25 travel because we live 15 miles out of town. After those items were completed i asked him to do the following: Install sink and faucet to counter top. Reconnect plumbing to new sink and faucet Reconnect dishwasher Cut remainder counter top to fit (3 cuts) Install floor molding (approximately 20 ft) I unfortunately did not confirm the price with Mario for the additional work. The total cost at that point was over $900 and did not include attaching the counter top which I wanted done. So unfortunately I could not afford to have him complete the job. I felt his pricing was exceptionally high for non licensed worker. Mario did a nice job and seemed very knowledgeable, I would recommend him, but get price estimate for each job so you don't get shocked.

He lives in California not Oregon and is a great guy. He isn't licensed or bonded, but he's skilled. He does an excellent job. He did other jobs for me. He has done painting for me and did work at my mother's home in California, so now he's my mother's handyman. He is honest about his work.
Description of Work: Mario Baca did extensive plumbing work for my mother.
