Stop looking. You have found the construction crew to use. Professional - with all the good connotations that come with that word. We did our due diligence on this job. We had different contractors in for quotes that varied in price as much as what they said they would do TME Construction was the highest quote we got. And at the end it was their knowledge, professionalism and follow through that got them our business. They never treated us as if it were just a little job. We didn't want a kitchen remodel. We wanted to get a stove out and another in its place that was an inch wider which meant cutting the counter-top and back splash (Formica). And we wanted to add a fan where none existed. Tony came with his crew (on time) and had the job completed in a little over three hours. When they left, after testing to make sure everything worked (and was clean!), there was no sign they were ever here except for the new range, back splash and hood -- and happy customers. We plan on using them again. We made the right choice. You get what you pay for.
Description of Work: We have an older house with an outdated kitchen that came with a drop-in gas stove that fit in a 29 in space. We needed to have a 30 in slide-in go in the space. We also had the microwave above the range removed and a exhaust fan installed which meant adding a duct to the outside which did not exist before.

We had a horrible experience with another contractor that was remodeling our bathroom and we finally kicked him out and Tony came to the rescue to finish some odds and ends that we couldn't get done. Tony sent his son out to hang a TV in our spare bedroom and he moved all the electrical to hide all the wires and everything just looks great!! They also put some privacy film on our windows in the bathroom and then tony came out himself and put some door handles on our vanity. Tony called a few times to keep me informed of when the team would arrive and they showed up on time and knocked it out quickly. I would recommend Tony & TME to anyone!! Thank You Bill Bowden

Tony showed up to give a quote the same day I called him. It took him about 5 minutes to look at the two issues and he said he would email me a quote. Got the quote quickly and scheduled a date for him to perform the work. He worked around my schedule and came on my day off. He and his crew arrived on time and completed the work quickly and cleaned up after themselves. The door now works great and the new fan/light combo in the bathroom looks and works great! I plan on using them again!!
Description of Work: Tony and his crew fixed a pocket door that had come off its track and installed an exhaust fan in the master bathroom.

The tile on the ceiling over our tub was starting to come down and we wanted it taken down right away. Tony was able to come out quickly and gave us a very good price. Everyone who worked for TME was very professional and did a great job. We were very pleased with the result. They also did a nice job cleaning up. We will definitely call them again.
Description of Work: TME removed the tile from the ceiling over our bathtub, prepared and painted the ceiling, and put grout around the edge between the wall tiles and the ceiling.

TME's guys were spectacular! Seriously. They were fast, careful, paid attention to the details and quality, and -- which my wife especially loved -- they cleaned up so much that it made our post-construction cleaning just a fraction of what we'd anticipated. The crew members are likeable, respect your home, and are craftsmen. And Tony the owner is always available, offers very practical advice, and is able to explain why they need to do things a certain in way in non-jargon, understandable terms that all made sense.
Description of Work: We'd used TME to fix-up the home we moved into (see my earlier review), and liked them so much we used them again to fix up existing house for sale. They repaired plaster wall/ceiling cracks, drywall, stucco repair, interior painting, exterior trim painting, light electrical, hardwood floor re-finishing.

Tony and his crew, all very professional, took two days to complete the work. On the first day he brought three workers with him to repair and replace rotted wood and closed up the outside wall and prep for the stucco guys to finish up the job. Took him about two hours. After the work was completed, he and his crew thorough clean up debris and swept the driveway, leaving the area where the work was done spotless. A few days later he came back and worked on replacing the door jam and raised the door to make the door fit better. At the same time, the stucco guys who he subcontracted, worked on the walls. They too were professionals. Again, he and the stucco people did a good job, working maticulously to get everything neatly installed and properly finished. He even worked on another problem door for us for free. As with the previous day's work, he thoroughly cleaned up the work areas after the job was done. Nothing but high praises for Tony, his crew and the people he used for work that was outside his expertise. Tony's quote for the job wasn't the cheapest, but I thing you get what you pay for, which is a true professional who knows what he's doing and top quality results.
Description of Work: Repair/replace rotted wood caused by water pipe leak, closed up open wall and patched up stucco. Repair/replace rotted door jams and raised door for tighter fit.

Everything went fine, on time and on budget. The work is of excellent quality.
Description of Work: Wow, this guy is terrific. When Tony says he is gonna do something, it gets done; and done right. Excellent work performed on time and under budget. He and his crew are totally professional, and executed our various jobs from installing safety railing; a bannister; and rebuilding a huge ancient wooden table in less than a day. I have already asked them back to do more work.

Tony met with us to go over the kitchen plans, which were primarily a layout of the cabinets from an IKEA designer. The remainder of the materials were from Lowes (backsplash), Warehouse Discount Center (appliances), and elsewhere (countertops, sink, knobs/pulls). He gave us an estimate of 2 weeks for the job, which turned out to be overly ambitious, since the job ultimately took about 5 1/2 weeks to complete. It's difficult to tell in retrospect whether this was the result of some hitches we encountered during the process (waiting for countertops, subcontractor availability, etc.) but that was our only real concern about the job. It was hard to complain about the timing, however, since everyone else we knew who had their kitchen's redone had taken roughly the same amount of time, and the results were spectacular. That, and Tony did everything he could to make the process easier on us, including helping to set up a temporary kitchen in the garage, and staying on top of everyone who worked in our house to ensure that the work was done as quickly and cleanly as possible. Of all the things he did that impressed us, ensuring that the house was spotless at the end of every work day, and at the end of the job, was one of the things that we really appreciated. There was little impact on the surrounding flooring outside the kitchen, or anything else for that matter, despite the fact that our kitchen opens into our family and dining rooms on either side. Otherwise, every one of Tony's subcontractors and all of the guys that work with him were unfailingly nice, professional, skilled, resourceful, and accommodating to anything that we wanted tweaked during the course of the job. There were things that needed to be repositioned, adjusted, or otherwise reconfigured to fit our design, and Tony went out of his way to let us know that nothing was unexpected, and that his goal was that we be happy with our kitchen and feel like we'd been treated fairly along the way. By the time the job was done, the results spoke for themselves.
Description of Work: TME did a complete kitchen remodel for us, from demolition to installation of new tile flooring, IKEA cabinets, paint, countertops, sink, backsplash, lighting (including swapping out overhead cans with LEDs and under-cabinet lighting), and appliances. Note, the $17,000 figure for the job did not include appliances or cabinetry, which we purchased ourselves. The total price tag was more like $30,000 or so, but TME's total invoice was $17,000.

Overall it went great. Tony and his crew were on time and completed the job in only a few hours. All of the work looks good and they cleaned everything up when they were done. We will definitely use them again and we recommend them to anyone looking for handyman services.
Description of Work: We hired TME to do several handyman projects that had been stacking up over the past few months. - Assemble cabinetry for our garage (we purchased the cabinets off the shelf from Home Depot. TME built and installed the cabinets) - Build platform for the cabinets in our garage - Affix cabinets to our garage wall - Replace two bathroom faucets - Fix shower handle, replace shower head in our master bathroom - Install towel rack - Replace two hanging light fixtures - Re-seal a leaky window

Hired TME for the two projects discussed above. The gutter repair went smoothly and was quickly completed. The building of the patio cover became a permitting nightmare. TME went to obtain to permits and were informed that there were outstanding issues with our property from 1962 (before it was built). TME went as far as they could but had to turn over to us the information they had gathered to follow up on thie outstanding issue. They quickly recognized that if they had continued to pursue the permit, additional problems could have been created. After much work we were able to get the old issues cleared and TME helped us to the extent they could with dealing with the Building and Safety department. After clearing the old issue, TME took over the final permitting and started the project. During the inspections, however, we encountered a crazy inspector who started making unreasonable requests (this was confirmed when the final inspector confirmed that the first inspector requirements were no valid). TME managed to get the through this process and complete the patio cover. The project also included installing a fan, lights and wiring (misters to be installed in the spring). WWQhen completed ist was just what we were looking for. I was glad I had TME on the job. Not only did they performed as promised, but they were a great assistance helping us through the code issues. We have more projects on the horizon and plan to use TME again. Thanks again Tony and Mary Ellen.

Overall, went well. Happy with the completed job.
Description of Work: This is the second job that I have used TME construction. Both jobs even though small were completed professionally, timely, and competently. This second job involved a downstairs leaking toilet that ended up turning into ripping the damaged Pergo out (that was not replaceable). As Tony was ripping it out, I was thinking, “good thing I trust this company”. They ended up replacing the Pergo with tile and did a great job. Even though it was a small job, Tony treated it like it was a very important big job.

We interviewed 3 contractors for a modest interior remodel on newly purchased home. It was our first time doing something like this. We decided on Tony (of TME), because he was prompt, knew his stuff, did not try to upsell us and offered great ideas that were practical, budget-friendly, but truly added to the house's appeal (such as a decorative inset in the kitchen, LED lighting, staircase rebuild). I appreciated that he forewarned me about potential costs or problems with some of the ideas we had, and he offered suggestions to solve them. He emailed a proposal immediately, that was easy to understand and very reasonable. He and his crew arrived on time, were clean, friendly, and efficient. And their work and craftsmanship was fantastic. They turned a ho-hum mantel/hearth into a beautiful centerpiece of the family room. They converted an outdated, open staircase with metal bannister into a closed staircase with white vinyl spindles and stained wood bannister, which is gorgeous. And his painters are excellent. They had to do extra coats because of the colors we chose, and the trim, walls, ceiling all were done flawlessly. Tony was very easy to communicate with, always available via cellphone/text/email. He called with questions. And he always had answers to mine. We got delayed a few days because a vendor delivered a wrong-sized item, and Tony explained the problem, but had his crew still finish and totally clean up the place (and even moved a few pieces of furniture for us), so that our move in date to the house didn't have to change. We're using him again to fix up our prior home for re-sale. Highly, highly recommended.

I had a list of handyman things for them to do. Tony squeezed me in b/c I had guests coming and some of the things to be done were in the guest room. He came exactly on time with 2 other men to help. They fixed some light swiches that weren't working, fixed the front door locks, changed 2 timers to light switches, hung a new lamp fixture in the bathroom, changed the light bulbs in my skylight b/c we couldn't reach them and they had been out for about a year, fixed a broken toilet and rehung window blinds that had disconnected from the wall bracket. They finished all of this in less than 2 hours, which included them going out to get a new flapper for the toilet. They cleaned as they went. Vacuuming up any mess they made. They were very pleasant to have in the house.

Everything looks beautiful. Having having been homeless for 2 months, I now feel grateful it happened because our house is SO clean looking and gorgeous. My Dad is a contractor whom I used to work for when I was growing up and I can tell you that Tony went above and beyond. He offered to paint the ceilings for many rooms for no charge just because it had been done so poorly the last time by whomever did it. He also made sure to come back and touch up anything that wasn't perfect. He was the last one out of our place, even though he was only one of 4 contractors who did the work. Allen, Tony's Drywall guy is very gifted. He was the one I first worked with before the pipe accident and he managed to make this bizarre, half-removed wall in our home that stuck down 2 feet from the ceiling and actually curved in a half circle and make it look like it was designed to look like that. Also, the texture work was a perfect match. You would never know we knocked down the wall. I owe them a tremendous debt of gratitude for taking extra time to install my antique faux fireplace in our master bedroom. This ancient piece of hardware weighs over 150 pounds, and is H*** to install. But, knowing I had had this since I was 14 and I was in a bind with my 3 year old possibly getting hurt by this THING falling on him, they took they extra hour to do it and didn't charge me for their time. Tony and his entire crew feel like a big family and I felt very safe having these guys in our home while we were away in a hotel and sometimes out of town. He will talk you ear off but is so personable and funny, it made this whole process less painful for us. I believe its important to Tony that he do quality work and I will always call him first.
Description of Work: I found TME on Angie's List and was originally working with them on some small changes to our first home prior to move in. The price was very fair and quality of the work was great. So when, 10 days after we moved into the home, pipes leaked, doing $23,000.00 in damages, I called Tony to repair the damage. Tony was on board immediately during this very stressful time, living in hotels for during the holidays with a 3 year old. Because our particular problem was bad pipes to begin with, Tony wasn't able to start until after we re-piped the entire house. By the time that was done, it was mid-December and we then had twice the amount of sheetrock cuts to be repaired and retextured to match, painting of all of the downstair walls (including the garage!) and most of the upstairs, repairing the damaged kitchen cabinets (where most of the damage occurred), reinstalling appliances and replacing carpet upstairs. It took them about 3 weeks during Christmas and New Years Holidays, which I felt was very speedy. They came in pretty much right on time, but were delayed only because of some choices I made and because the other contractors I chose wouldn't work anywhere near holidays. Tony worked up to and the day after both Christmas and New Years because he knew we wanted this done as soon as possible.

Tony came with his crew to install a vented range hood over my stove, to move some overhead kitchen cabinets to my washroom, and to patch a couple of holes in my kitchen wall. I am very pleased with Tony's work. He and his men arrived on time and within two hours completed all the work I had asked of them. They cleaned up after they were done too which was a nice extra added bonus. I would definitely hire Tony again - a good reliable handyman is a wonderful thing!

Tony was very prompt in coming out for the initial review and delivered a detailed estimate within a few days. Unavoidable bad weather (rain) caused some delays in scheduling, but communication from Tony was always good so I was never in doubt about the job status. When work began the crew was very fast and professional. They solved several unanticipated problems with ease including re-framing a door and window with (hidden) rotten wood and replacing/re-wiring a light fixture that required breaking down and re-assembling some custom kitchen cabinetry. The overall quality of the work was exceptional, no complaints at all - drywall, paint, window and door install, closets, stucco repair, all were top-notch. I would definitely use TME again for future work.
Description of Work: Replaced all (8) windows and patio door with Milgard units. Replaced 1 outer and 2 inner doors. Repaired significant drywall damage on kitchen ceiling and several interior walls. Painted walls and ceiling to match existing color. Replaced several difficult-to-access built-in light fixtures including bathroom fan unit. Did drywall repair, paint and built-in installation for 3 closets. Removed rotten trim boards from outside of house, repaired stucco and painted exterior to match.

I got bids from three different contractors and my management company approved TME for the job. Tony was honest and upfront during the estimate. I got a good feeling about him during the estimate and am glad that the management company ultimately decided to go with TME. Tony and two additional guys (I believe Mike and Tim were their names) arrived promptly the morning job was to take place. Tony barely entered the apartment before jumping right to work, directing Mike and Tim as to what needed to happen for each repair. Throughout the morning, Tony was hands on and very attentive as he worked. He oversaw all aspects of the repair work being done and did a fine job managing Mike and Tim, making adjustments and redirecting when needed. I always felt confident that Tony was gonna make sure things were done with quality as priority. The whole job took 3 hours, including an unexpected run to the hardware store to adjust the piping to fit the new faucet. They cleaned up incredibly well after they were done, which I really appreciate! And I don't know how, but somehow Tony even found some time to chat some with my Dad, who stayed in my apartment while I left for a bit for an appointment. I am more than pleased with the work that Tony and his workers did and am in discussions with him to come back and do additional repair work on my balcony.
Description of Work: I needed the following repair work done on my apartment: - Clean out and rebuild under the kitchen cabinet with new base and shelf. (It had sustained tremendous water damage; wood rot and mildew had set in; shelf board had split.) -Remove Vanity in order to seal hole in wall; reinstall vanity (There was a past plumbing repair done by a previous maintenance guy where he opened up the wall and never resealed it.) - Remove and replace bathroom faucet. (Old faucet had cracks in veneer and mildew had set in and couldn't be removed with cleaning.)

We tried out TME in early December and am planning on calling them back to do more work in the New Year. The Owner (very likable) came by on the weekend to look things over and give us a bid. About a week later two workmen (also very nice guys!) came to do the various jobs. They did a good job, were quick and acted like sensible and reasonable people. I would say more good things but then this review would seem fake so I'll just end by saying that if you're unsure of who you should try out I seriously recommend this company.

I had water damage in three rooms of my house. The ceiling had fallen in, the walls and door jams were damaged and the carpet ruined. TME appeared for the estimate on the date and at the time agreed. I received a written and itemized estimate the next day by email. I compared the estimate to 3 other estimate. TME was not the lowest, but I felt most confident with TME. I asked for a date when work could commence and when it would be completed, in full. The owner of TME and his workers appeared as agreed and completed the work as agreed. The owner came everyday to check on the work and progress. My final bill was exactly per the estimate. I would use TME again.

We were very pleased with their professionalism during the initial estimate, and that continued through the actual work done.
Description of Work: We had a wooden side gate built and installed for us, as well as an interior door installed.

We had been looking for some time for a LICENSED contractor and/or handyman to replace the already existing attic ladder in our home. Believe it or not, there are not too many people out there who do this (who are licensed!). When calling General Contractors (many on Angie's List), we were told that our job was too small etc. (very frustrating!). One contractor told us that we needed a $1500 minimum job for them to even consider coming out. :( We did have one other licensed handyman/GC come out and give an estimate, but he did not give us confidence that the job would be done to our particular satisfaction (and we ARE particular!), AND he was more expensive by $140.00 so we kept looking. Although, the $ was not really a factor -- we just wanted it done right because it is a safety issue with our family and others climbing up and down the ladder to the attic. I called Tony at TME - we scheduled a time for him to come out, look at the job and measure. Tony contacted me the day before to confirm our appt. and he came out, as promised. Tony also gave us great advice re what kind of attic ladder to purchase. We agreed that he would install the ladder after I ordered and picked it up from Loews. While Tony was here, we asked if he could also fix a small threshhold issue at the same time that the attic ladder was going to be installed - and he said no problem. We picked up the ladder, confirmed the install date with Tony, and he showed up this monring right on time with his THREE assistants! One of them was his son. They were all very professional, nice and respectful. The job was done quickly, efficiently, and definitely to our particular satisfaction. They also did a GREAT job of cleaning up! We are VERY satisfied with both jobs (attic ladder install and threshhold repair). We will certainly call Tony again for other jobs, including, installing a potential new range in our kitchen! We highly recommend Tony (super nice guy!) and TME Construction. We found them to be professional, punctual, responsive, fairly priced and we received quality workmanship.
Description of Work: We had TME Construction replace and install an attic ladder in our home. We had one that was there for about 15 years and it finally gave out. Additionally, they did a small masonry/grout job on one of our outdoor threshholds.
