Preferred Glass & Windows

They are a very big company and have locations in three different places but yet we still had to wait almost ten business days to get the glass put in. Once the glass was finally available, they did a very good job!

I had somewhat of a hard time getting an estimate appointment. (I think they are just really busy and perhaps low on manpower.) In any event, I originally scheduled an appointment just for the broken window. But, when the arrived I asked them to look at the matching glass to the broken slider side, and fogged glass in a French door and glass slider. They gave me a good estimate for all 3/4 jobs. I was concerned that when they removed the moulding on the French door that it would break or when put back on it would look bad. They assured me that I would never know that the moudling had been removed. They gave me a 2 week lead time, but came back with the replacement glass in 2 days. The 3 guys did an excellent job. No mess was left behind. And, they were correct, the French door looked like new. They re-caulked everything perfectly. I now wish that I had had all of this work done sooner. After completion, Josh at HQ called me to inquire as to whether everything went as promised. I was reluctant to use Preferred Glass as many people had told me that they felt they were overpriced. After my experience, I don't believe this to be true. I would definitely use them again. And, I would request the same service guys.

Did not use this vendor. Although we did use another local glass vendor. Unfortunately this vendor was not a good fit for this job.

We paid extra to have it done quickly, as we are also painting our house. The promised day of installment has come and gone and we are having a hard time even getting them on the phone. They are suppose to install tomorrow. We have been very unhappy with the way they do business so far. I have no idea yet how well they will install the door.

Preferred Glass and Windows was great throughout the entire process. We worked with Jason, who was phenomenal. As he measured the windows in our home to give us a quote, he also offered us suggestions on things he would change (the direction the window opened, whether it was a hung or sliding window, etc.). The vast majority of the changes he suggested could be done at no additional cost, so we didn't feel like he was trying to up-sell us on anything. We went with most of his suggestions, and we are happy we did! The windows came out beautifully, and where we live (in Granada Hills), there is a LOT of wind. Our 20 year old windows did nothing to keep the sound or heat out of home. Now, we hardly hear the wind at all and the temperature in our home is better. We purchased Milgard windows and had the windows delivered to our home. Even the Milgard people raved about Preferred Glass and Windows. Our installers, Rich and Tony, were professional, friendly, and did such a wonderful job removing and installing our new windows. Jason even came by twice to make sure the installation was going as planned and that we were happy with our windows. Several neighbors have asked for their number and we were happy to refer them. At first, we were hesitant to call Preferred Glass because they did not have many reviews on Angie's List, but after learning they were a preferred vendor with Costco, we decided to give them a try. We are so happy we did. Their prices were competitive, but considering the customer service, it was a steal. I would call them again in a heartbeat (but Milgard's warranty is so good, we probably won't have to!)

Contacted Preferred Glass and Window through Costco's Home Services. From our first contact by phone to completion of the installation everything was completed in a thoroughly professional and expert manner. Courtney, our phone contact, was helpful in obtaining the type of door we needed; Josh's home visit left no questions unanswered and helped us through the ordering process with his expertise. The installers were great -- arrived on time, installation was done well and in a timely manner, and the workspace was clean when they were finished. We were contacted after the installation to ensure that the installation and installation process went according to expectations. Would be sure to use Preferred Glass and Window for any future window or door services.

I went to their store and they were very nice. I didn't have them give me a quote. They didn't really have what I was looking for. In terms of customer service, the vibes they gave of and their professionalism was nice. I walked in and they were right there to help me. They answered all of my questions and they showed me different things that they had in their showroom. It just wasn't what I was looking for. They had very nice things. They were very good. I think their prices were reasonable. I don't think they were way out of line. It just wasn't what I wanted. I don't need anything now but I guess if I needed something I would shop there.

That was a bad experience. I complained, and they wanted to give me a 20 Dollar worth of Pizza coupon. This was the first time we used them, and we had seen advertisements around through out the valley. I guess many people use them. They were late in delivering the windows, they cracked a fascia board and refused to fix it, they installed a french door without using the proper stuff, and it had leaks. They refused to come back and fix it, saying that it was a subcontractor who needed to fix it. When I pointed out the fact that he cracked the fascia board, he was rude. He put his hands on his hips, and looked left and right, the house is old, and so he said that he can see other cracks, so he doesn't see why it matters. I told him to just pound the board where it belongs, and I would paint it myself. He was still being rude, he was so rude, that I was literally shaking, and my mouth was dry and I told them to leave my property before I did something else. Hew as a young guy, and I thought that he would try really hard being in this valley, I could not understand why he would be rude to a customer who can refer him to 8 people down the street.

When we first saw the windows at Costco , we were contacted by Preferred Glass. Josh came out to our house and thoroughly explained how the windows were constructed, measured our windows and gave us an estimate. We felt very confident about dealing with his company. Jace, Jose and Arturo arrived on time for the installation.They were very professional. They took down our blinds and quickly removed the old windows. They installed the new windows and meticulously trimmed and caulked. They vacuumed our living room, re-hung our blinds, and cleaned the new windows . They left my home cleaner than when they started! Excellent experience and I love how the windows make my house look and feel.

They came out and they were very good and very responsive. We were just doing multiple bids to see what windows we wanted and how we wanted to do it.

The representative gave an estimate over the phone, but said they needed to visit to confirm that the job was as described and materials were appropriate. Price they quoted is what I ended up paying. Prices were comparable to other businesses I got quotes from. Work was quick, materials arrived when they estimated them to arrive (less than a week). I would use them again.

The work went well. The work went well all way through from the showroom to the time the work wa done. I went to their showroom and picked up the door that I wanted. They installed that door.

I got an email from Costco Member Services about a deal on windows, so I filled out their online form for Trusted Home Services. I specifically requested to be contacted by email and late in the afternoon; I got a call midday. I told them that I had gotten other estimates; they asked me to forward those estimates so they could get the dimensions and not have to come to my house to measure my windows. Unfortunately, my other two estimates didn't have dimensions, so I requested that they come to my house. I got another call back from their estimator, and he asked me to measure my windows. As a working mom, I don't have time to measure the windows in my house and feel that it's their job. Needless to say, I was disappointed and did not call them back.

We had certain quotes from other companies. However, we chose Preferred Glass and Windows. We spent $10500 on the job. They did everything that they said they would do. They were honest. They gave us discounts for putting in new windows. We also got another rebate. We were very happy with them. They had knowledgeable people that worked on the windows. The work went really smooth. Their price was middle of the road. We had some problems and they came back out for fixing them. We will use them again in the future.

THE QUALITY OF THIS JOB WAS EXCELLENT. THE QUALITY OF THE GLASS AND INSTALLATION WAS EXCELLENT AS WELL. THE PRICE WAS A BIT EXPENSIVE. THE SERVICE WAS ON TIME.

GOOD EXPERIENCE, WORK DONE AS DESCRIBED. ON TIME, CLEANED UP AFTERWARDS, DONE IN TIME FRAME STATED IN CONTRACT. WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO ANY ONE WHO WOULD NEED THIS TYPE OF WORK.
