Sousa's Garage Doors

They removed the old and replaced with a new one. They were very professional and completed the job quickly in just over an hour. My overall experience with them was good.

The process was very smooth overall. * Saturday - Prompt arrival at 9 am for estimate, which took all of 15 minutes. What needed to be moved in the garage was explained clearly. The extent of teardown was described to me as well. * Monday morning - I called to accept the estimate and authorize work. My order was confirmed over the phone and I was told that it would take up to a week for the installation to be scheduled. I was told to expect a phone call once the door and opener had arrived. * Tuesday afternoon - I received a call indicating that the first available day for the install was Friday. We settled upon a Friday afternoon installation. * Friday morning - At 10:30 I received a call checking to see if it would be possible to start earlier. The new door and opener were installed before 2 pm without any surprises.

Sousa's was the only company that would come out to the house and give us an on-site estimate on a Saturday. We got 5 estimates that were all about the same, but went with Sousa's b/c we were more comfortable with them - since we actually got to talk with them in person (vs over the phone for estimates done during the day when we were at work). Work was performed quickly, within budget. The garage was left very clean. Great experience.

One day, our garage door wouldn't open. One of the coil springs had snapped. This was an inconvenience, so we wanted someone as quickly as possible. After consulting Angie's List and getting a few estimates, I chose this company based on price, availability, and their good ratings. We had to wait a couple of days, but once he arrived, our problem was fixed within an hour. We decided to replace both springs. He used half a can of WD-40 afterwards on the moving parts just to make sure it all worked smoothly, which was nice.

My experience with them was pretty good. They got the old door out of the area without harming anything. They did the job well and fast. I would recommend them and use them again.

Our torsion springs on the garage door broke. We really needed someone out ASAP to fix it. I checked on Angie's List and found Sousa's. I'd called around and everyone wanted so much more to replaced the springs. Since the reviews on AL was good, I called Sousa's. They sent someone out the next day. It took the person less than 2 hours to replace the springs. He was courteous, professional, and understanding. I have no hesitation in recommending this company to my friends and neighbors.

They were great! Their price was great and he was prompt and knowledgeable.

The man who came to install the door had not been warned that he'd need to take down a shelf that was blocking the way. However, he set to work efficiently and competently and did an excellent installation. I called a week or so later because the door didn't close all the way. Another employee came by and explained that I needed to use my foot on the edge to get it to close completely. That worked. But he came back another day and spent an unnecessary amount of time tinkering with the settings to make the door balance and move better. All in all, an excellent installation of good quality material. I'll call them to install the automatic opener if I ever can make room in the garage to actually park a car there.

He was very efficient and very good. He was very punctual to the appointments. He showed up about an hour early and he was done within three hours. I would use him again in the future.

Frank came out to estimate. He helped us pick a style and finish, that exactly matched the look of our house. The doors had to be custom made and took about 2 weeks to deliver. The delivery was exactly as promised. The installers came out and installed the doors in about 2 hours. They removed the old doors and hauled the doors away. We are absolutely delighted with the doors.

It went pretty well. They promise to arrive at 9:00 am in the morning. The guy arrived at 8:30am. He is very prompt and courteous. We are happy with the work.

Went great. I called on Sunday night, left a message, and the door was fixed on Monday morning.

He identified the problem as soon as he stepped into the garage. He managed to get the door open and I pulled my car out so he could work on the problem. He had the springs changed in half an hour and told me how to maintenance the rollers. He was punctual and friendly.

Overall??? AAA+++ I have the door I wanted and not too bad on the pocketbook. I can see why Sousa's Garage Doors have won awards.

I called them at 6am expecting to leave a voice mail, but a gentleman answered the phone and they were at my home within 20 min. Very reasonable price.

Sousa's Garage Doors came out promptly when we requested an estimate. They carefully detailed all our options, from the least expensive option (just replace the garage door opener) to replacing the door as well as the opener. There was no 'hard sell' to chose a particular option. Their bid for what we wanted done was slightly less than another bid we had received for the same work. We set a date and time for them to do the work. They came promptly, completed the work, were very neat and clean and careful in the process and then removed all debris and our old door when they left. We liked the added bonus that the old door would not be dumped in the land fill but would be donated to help build homes in Mexico instead.

I called them a few months back and they promptly came by to give me an estimate. I took a lot of time to decide which type of door to go with. Based on my decision, they decided to come in again for a new estimate. Both the estimates were free and Frank (the person who came for both estimates) was very helpful and gave me some good suggestions. In fact he saved me from making a mistake in selecting the trim for my garage door windows. On the day of the installation, the contractor arrived a little late; but he got to his work right away and did a wonderful job. He did not mind me poking in the garage once in a while and asking questions about how things are going and understanding/addressing my concerns. I am very happy with the overall work he did. He seemed to be in a hurry towards the end, but stayed back till I had checked the door and was satisfied with the results. They did not charge me for the haul away. Now I have a garage door with windows that match my front main windows!!!

It went well overall. The first estimator was very courteous and on time. He seemed to have to ask advice from a senior person a couple of times, but he got immediate answers over the cell phone. I wanted to get the thicker double sided (insulated) steel door. It was reasonable to pay the extra for it ($125 extra); but my door had an odd size so the cutting of the door cost me extra. I could have waited 3 weeks to eliminate the door cutting cost but I did not want to wait. They installed it well and moved the garage door opener to the correct position with no extra cost. They installed new vinyl door seals, which I think is best. It took only about 3 hours.

The installer was professional, friendly, and on time. It took about 80 minutes to complete the work. Another company I called did not install screw-drives, sighting potential reliability problems. They also wanted much more money to install a different type of a drive. Since I've had my screw-drive for years before it stopped functioning, I went with Sousa's Garage Doors to replace it with a similar machine. The customer service representative I talked to was very friendly and answered all my questions. The appointment was scheduled for Saturday morning that week (very convenient for me). Everything went as smooth as I could have hoped, and now I have a new LiftMaster 1/2 HP unit that is likely to give me years of worry-free garage access.

My old opener was nearly 40 years old and still worked fine (!), but the clickers had literally fallen apart and couldn't be taped together anymore. In looking for new clickers, I discovered how old the opener was and decided it had earned its retirement. I called Sousa's based on the Angie's List comments; they had someone out 2 days later to do the installation. I just left him alone and he was done in about one and 1/2 hours. The new opener works great, is much quieter and has much better lighting than the old one. Plus, the clickers are much smaller and don't need to be taped together.

They did a very god job and I am pleased with them. Joe was the guys name and he was really good. He checked everything out and told me that the other spring may need to be replaced soon as well, so we went ahead and did both. I was quite pleased. I think the pricing was pretty standard for a double car garage.

Timely, professional, good price. Explained to me the options (cost of replacing the door, replacement of 1 spring or both springs, did the work promptly, explained necessary on-going maintenance for me to do. Very satisfied.

Joe Souza arrived right on time to give me an estimate. Explained my options. Did not try to sell me more than I wanted. Was very informative. A few days later I scheduled the date for installation. On the day of installation, the installer actually arrived early. He was very friendly, very quick and efficient. I couldn't believe how fast he did the job by himself! In and out in 3 hours.
