Took some time to help me understand that their equipment was not capable on the AT&T service. This is a common item, and either Bay Alarms is just catching up, or they do not have a solution yet. Wireless unit is in the garage, clean installation. Installation was fine. Time to complete was about an hour. Professional staff.

the alarm went off because we had a guest who didn't know not to open garage door until it was disarmed. Bay called to make sure we were OK . It was within a min from the time the alarm went off.

We had a whole house alarm system installed. The house was pre-wired for an alarm system, so the actual install was very smooth. The sales process was interesting. After reviewing what I wanted, the negotiation began. We manged to reach an agreement and they threw in fire detectors (over and above our house detectors) with monitoring and dropped the monthly monitoring fee a bit. Don't be afraid to negotiate on price. The installation process was very smooth. My tech was knowledgeable and professional. After about two years of service the alarm system developed a "signal" fault - meaning the cell signal received by the controller was not strong enough. After trying to trouble shoot over the phone a tech was sent out. He tried to resolve the issue, but determined that the receiver needed to be replaced. Unfortunately the receiver I had was not being made anymore and an "upgrade" was required. After a quick call to the sales supervisor I was able to work a deal by paying for the upgraded unit, but they would pay the labor and the truck roll.

Things went great. The installer knew what he was doing and finished in a few hours.
Description of Work: I met with Amy Walsh, the sales rep., and she was wonderful. She was prompt, professional and didn't try to push extra services. Once my contract was approved, the company had someone install the alarm. They installed 3 door alarms, one motion detector, alarm box, phone connection for monitoring and a horn.

We refused to give all this info, so they required that we pay for the full 3 years of monitoring as well as for the alarm system up front. We signed up and then cancelled the contract within the 3 days allotted by the State of California, because they used questionable tactics and did not state up front what the conditions of the contract were, and we felt that the conditions were unacceptable. If you use Bay Alarm, you should try to get them to confirm the install date they give you, because they changed ours after the contract was written. While we had some issues with getting ADT's system installed, nothing is required up front for the monthly monitoring service. No personal information was requested. Their contract is for 2 years and has a cancellation provision. You have 6 months to cancel without a charge. They are nationwide, so if you leave the area, you should still be able to get the monitoring service. We chose ADT, and the alarm system works great. See ADT for details.
Description of Work: We needed an alarm system for the house. Bay Alarm's price was competitive, however, their contract has provisions that you should review very carefully even though the print on the back is very small and the ink is very light (the sales rep. did not discuss the items in the contract with us). Here are things you should be aware of: 1) The contract is for the alarm system AND payment for 3 full years of the monitoring service, 2)There is no provision to cancel the 3-year service if you move, 3)They are a local company, so if you do move out of the area (basically Northern or Southern California, there is no monitoring service available and there is no Birthdate, Employer, Spouses info, Savings Account#, Checking Account#, as well as mother's maiden name for the codeword (although you could give them another name that you choose).

THIS COMPANY IS THE BEST IN CALIFORNIA. IF A FALSE ALARM GOES OFF SOMEONE IS RIGHT THERE TO ASSIST ME. THE ALARM WAS INSTALLED VERY NEATLY. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH ANY STRANGERS.

THEIR PRICING WAS COMPETITIVE WITH SEVERAL OTHER COMPANIES WE CALLED. THE MONTHLY CHARGE FOR BEING MONITORED IS $35. INSTALLATION WAS DONE QUICKLY AND NEATLY. WE FIRST HAD IT INSTALLED WITH THEM SNAKING THE WIRES THROUGH THE WALLS. LATER, THEY RETURNED AND WIRED WITH OPEN WALLS DURING A REMODEL WHICH WAS ANOTHER CHARGE BUT EASIER TO DO. ANY SERVICE CALLS HAVE GIVEN ME A 3 HOUR WINDOW AND THEIR TROUBLE SHOOTING IS DONE QUICKLY AND NEATLY. THE MONITORING SYSTEM WORKS WELL.
