AVL Moving Systems

We were scheduled to have the movers at our San Jose apartment between 8 am and 10am-didn't show and didn't call. When I contacted them I was told the movers were running late and would be there my noon. Noon arrived to movers no call, I contacted them again, movers were on their way would be there in the next hour. Movers didn't show up until almost 2pm. The movers themselves were great very nice, professional, and quick. They then moved our Hayward furniture etc immediately and that was all well and good. We were told that the rest of our property would be moved to San Diego within 7 to 10 days. On the ninety day I called and was given the run around. Finally was told that our stuff would be delivered the next Monday or Tuesday. On Saturday I called just to check on our delivery and was told again Monday or Tuesday. On Monday no delivery or call. I called and was told for sure tomorrow, tomorrow came no delivery and no call. After I called, and again bounced around was told it would be the next week for delivery. Luckily, the stuff being moved was extra furniture etc that we didn't need. The next delivery date came and went, so now we are one month since our stuff was picked up. During all of this the company never, never, initiated contact with me on the delay etc all contact was established by me. When I called this time I was adiment that I get to talk to someone in charge. I was given the director of delivery Mr. Jones. Mr. Jones was very nice and gave me his cell phone number so we could keep in touch. He again gave me a delivery date and again it was changed. Finally I got a call from the driver of the truck that had our stuff. He gave me a delivery day and time and was there with in 30 minutes of his scheduled time. The driver explained to me that the truck containing my stuff had broke down several weeks ago and that it was in the repair shop. He said he had to rent a uhaul truck and then transfer my stuff and another families stuff to the uhaul and transport it from the bay area to San Diego. If he hadn't have taken the initiative to do that I am not sure I would still have my stuff.

The Good: The guys were nice enough. The Bad: Charged me for fuel from wherever they came from, which seemed to cover and entire tank of diesel. So, they charged me 9% of $370 in fuel for a 2 mile move. They wrapped EVERYTHING in tape, costing me about $200 in tape (I have a one bedroom place). A 3 hour move of 2 miles cost me $450. When I tried to call with my concerns, they didn't return voicemails. When I then tried via email, this is the response I got from the owner verbatim: "If your still not satisfied let us know what you need refunded and I will just send it to you. By that your acknowledging that you just want things for FREE." The owner was unprofessional, and very personal in his attacks. 10 days have passed, and no refund has been received. AVOID THESE PEOPLE !!!!!!
