My wife and I had decided that our whole kitchen sink and everything related to it needed replacing, after the garbage disposal went out (the last straw). We went shopping at the local home centers, and found a sink (enamel over cast iron -- nice and solid), faucet, garbage disposal, and 2-stage cold-water filter with its own spigot. I called Alfred Williams Plumbing on Sunday, explained the job, and asked for an estimate. Steve estimated that it would be 3 hours or slightly more, and told us what his hourly rate is ($108/hr, which sounded better than or comparable to other outfits). He offered us several times that week he could come out. Steve arrived 5 minutes ahead of the scheduled time, went to work, and got the job done in exactly 3 hours. He was very professional, the sink looks great, and the work underneath looks solid. He gave us a detailed invoice listing his hours and each part he used (about $44 worth). He gave us his cell phone number in case we had any problems, but we haven't had any. Would definitely use him again.

Returned our call promptly. Came out the same day. Fixed the problem very quickly and efficiently.

He did a great job and I really liked him and was happy with him. I paid about $100 or $160 for that work. He was outstanding and did the job really quickly. He did a good job of cleaning up after himself and he was very professional, and I was very impressed by him. He was very responsive and told us upfront that he was very jammed up, but still ended up coming within a couple of days. He came on time and when he said he was going to be here, and one of the most professional plumbers we had.

While performing a "do-it-yourself" replacement of kitchen water supply valves, the old fittings (both of them) were really stuck hard. And the main water shutoff valve to the house failed to completely stop flow. Thus I was in a bind to get it fixed quick on a Saturday afternoon. Alfred showed up within 20 minutes of our call (good timing for us) and had exactly the right tool to pull the reluctant compression rings off. He then quickly installed the new valves and offered to finish installing the kitchen faucet itself for only $20 more (total of $96). We were extremely pleased that he was able to show up so quickly and able to complete the work completely to our satisfaction. The price was excellent considering it was pretty much an emergency for us, and others had already quoted us prices well over $100 and could only show up the next day. He was a very pleasant man and worked with a calm professionalism. We would definitely use him again.

Steve arrived on time and figured out the problem in short order. He replaced the pipes that needed replacing and snaked the drain from the roof. He was finished in little over an hour and did an excellent job.

I just found out about Angie’s List and this is the first company I used from it. Was the best Plumbing experience I have ever had. My mother in laws shower valve would not work stuck. When I called Alfred Williams Plumbing I had ask them to come out and tell me how much they would charge to replace the whole valve. Steve said he would come and look at it and see if he could just fix it. He came out and fixed the one that was there. Which saved us a lot of money. Thanks Steve and Alfred Williams Plumbing

I checked Angie's List and found Alfred Williams Plumbing with all it great reviews, so I called. The woman who took my call said she would contact the plumber who should get back to me within 15 minutes. He called in 3. He said, "I'm in the area so I can be out in 20 minutes." He came in 12. He (Steve, the owner) looked at my situation and tried the same things that I had tried with the same lack of success. He said the next solution would be to remove the faucet, but then reconsidered when he saw how tight the space was. He stated that he night have to cut into the wall (and my mind added up the dollars). But he wanted to try one more thing before doing something so drastic. Instead of the wall, he cut through the brass coupling. Success! He attached my new hot water hose and checked to make sure that everything was all right. But really important--he advised me on how to avoid this type of problem in the future.

Steve was right on time. Walked through all of the items and listened patiently for all of the explanations. Gave me a time frame of how long it would take and cost and off he went to work. Everything was great. Right on time just as he said and finished everything just as promised. Very clean and professional. Very happy with the work.

The plumber came out and asked a description of the problem. He then did his own investigation of the problem, asking questions as he proceeded. He then suggested the source of the problem and asked should he proceed. I asked what the cost might be and he replied he had to verify the source first. He went to the water heater and showed me where the original home (1951) plumbing had galvanized piping and the upstairs addition (1978) had copper piping. He said there is probably a clog at that tee junction. He shut off the water heater water, opened the copper pipe going upstairs, unscrewed the brass coupling and there was a huge amount of debris. He said the repair would cost less than $100. He cleaned out the galvanized/brass tee junction, prepped the copper pipe for soldering to a shiny surface, did the same to a copper connector and soldered the connection back together. He proceeded to flush the hot water system, making sure all hot water faucets were flowing clean hot water. The kitchen faucet was running slow so he worked on that until the water flowed freely. He cleaned up his mess and proceeded to write the bill. I asked how I could keep the water flowing freely and he told me to shower in the upstairs bathroom once a week and that would keep the system okay. He told me the cost ($97.00) and showed me the bill. I did a courtesy glance at the labor and material costs and all seemed in order. I wrote a check and we shook hands and he left. I then looked closer at the bill and found he gave me a 20% senior discount on the labor. I later called his office to thank him for the unsolicited discount.

Steve arrived promptly at the appointed time and spent about 1 hour repairing (changing packing and washers) the problems with the first home. At the second home he had to "snake out" the tub drain which was clogged farther down the line and also got the tub drain lever operational which hadn't worked for years. One faucet needed a new supply line and the other needed new washers. Total time here was 1-1/2 hours.

Alfred Smith Plumbing were very fair and very fairly priced and they did good work as well. I would hire them again if needed.

On time, professional. I don't believe it was very good value for the money because the parts are marked up so high. I'm satisfied with the work, but will try someone else next time.

They did quite a bit, they were fair. I did like the fact that there was no hassle, they came in did their work well and went on their way.

I am pleased with his competence. If he does not have the equipment to fix a problem (such as main sewer line), he refers you to another plumbing contractor who he is familiar with.

D. Williams came in a promised time to fix the problem. He replaced some wire that was short on the water heater within 30 minutes.

Alfred did an excellent job. I called late in the day and he came over within two hours to asses the problem and do some of the initial repair. He returned 3 days later to finish. He was on-time, efficient and did great work. His prices were very fair and I will use his company again, if the need arises.

Both jobs were completed very quickly, and there have been no problems since the repairs, approx 60 days ago very timely, very good work knowledge.

JOB 1: MR. WILLIAMS, WHO IS THE SON OF ALFRED WILLIAMS, DOES MOST OF THE HANDS ON WORK FOR THE BUSINESS. IT IS A VERY GOOD, LONG-STANDING, FAMILY-OWNED AND OPERATED LOCAL BUSINESS. WE TRUST HIM WITH ALL OF OUR HOUSEHOLD PLUMBING NEEDS. JOB 2: WE ALWAYS CALL MR. WILLIAMS WHENEVER WE HAVE A PLUMBING PROBLEM. HE IS ALWAYS HONEST, HARD WORKING AND FAIRLY PRICED.

They did a good job. They fixed the toilets so they would flush right and we never had any trouble since. Their not extraordinary, but they did ok. I think they charged too much which is why I would not use them again. The work performed was good just expensive.

They were clean and respectful and we had a good experience. I was pleased with their work. You pay for what you get so the price was high, but it was worth it.
