The overall experience was a pleasant one. Eric Holder, the owner, personally came to our house and explained the various options available. He also answered all my questions. Danylle, the person who later took our order, sent written confirmations of the specs and drawings of all grids. The windows arrived on the promised date, and the workmen were fast and efficient. (Beware! Prepping aluminum frames for retrofit windows involves cutting through metal and is a noisy job by nature! It will scare kids and pets.) There was a minor discrepancy between my order and one of the windows. But I pointed it out and Able Glass replaced the wrong pane in a few days. You'd think that, for such first-class service, their rates would be a little higher than the competition's. Turns out it's just the other way round: they're quite a bit less expensive than other window companies I got quotes from. (I had quotes between $5300 and $7000; Able Glass did the job for $4300.)

It took a week to get an appointment for an estimate. The guy was perfectly on time and very polite, but the estimate was extremely high in my opinion ($450) and he wasn't even able to determine exactly what was needed. This is one of the simple flat and square windows, not a fancy curved one, and it is within easy reach for measuring. He said it would take a visit by an installer to determine what to order, then a special order and a couple of weeks to get the window before a third visit could be made to install it. Too many visits and too much money!

Able Glass Company did an absolutely fabulous job. I had been looking for someone to replace my windows for two years. Able Glass was able to beat out the competition by two thousand dollars. Also, they were highly rated by Angie?s List. They met with my wife and I and greatly informed us on new windows and different products they offered. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about them. Their crew came out and did a fantastic job installing the windows and cleaned up after themselves. I could not be happier.

The estimator, Eric Holder, was very professional answering all my questions & concerns. The installers were prompt and showed up when they said they would and did a good job of cleaning up. There were no problems at all. I also had bids from other companies and the price was all about the same. I went with Able Glass because their reputation of being in business since 1969 and not a fly-by-night company. When the job was completed they wanted me to be completely satisfied with their work before I signed off on the job. I highly recommend them.

They were excellent. There were great communications. They seemed to be very trustworthy. Everything was done in a timely manner and they were prompt. They did a good job of cleaning up after themselves. There were no problems at all.

They were able to come the same day. He was right on time to do the measurement and for the actual repair. They were very professional. They got the job done quickly and the cost exactly what they quoted me. It was great and very non-stressful.

It was very simple. I called around and he gave me the best price. It was also a beveled and a 5x3 length of glass. Came on time, worked very quickly and efficiently.

I cannot say enough positive things about this family run business. I have bought windows twice through them and both times have had a great experience. Price was good and they kept me updated on the manufacturer's delivery time by calling me a couple of times, even though there were no delays. Just an honest group of people, unlike the feeling you get with many businesses. Keep in mind that there is a little negotiation room with window prices. They moved the business from Sunnyvale to San Jose to expand the business, but all the same people are there.

We had a great experience with this company. The owner was very knowledgeable and we really appreciated the chance to try out all of the choices at their showroom. They were very patient with us, answered our many questions, and gave us plenty of time to consider the choices. The installation went very well. The crew was very polite and efficient. Installation took 1 day. They arrived on time and worked quickly and carefully. Only 1 minor complaint, the caulk they used to seal the new moldings was a little smeary on 3 windows. We ended up having to wipe the edges down to prevent the caulk from drying on the paint. This was a minor problem and it wouldn't prevent us from using them again.

The estimator was the installer as well. He was straightforward and reasonable. He measured it up for the glass to be cut and he came back within a week and had it installed. He was careful and clean and I'm pleased with the work.

Called looking for advice and an estimate for repair or replacement of existing windows, and spoke with an employee who wanted to argue on the phone about the nature of the problem. After explaining that the hardware on several casement windows was failing, causing the windows to sag and not close, the company representative was more intent on explaining how, in her experience, the windows could not be sagging in the manner I described. All I wanted was to schedule an appointment, not debate my ability to describe the nature of the problem. If she is this contentious when I am just trying to schedule an appointment, what will it be like working with her on a job? I'll take a pass on finding out.

Able Glass was excellent in their communications, showed up when they said they would and did the job quickly and neatly (and left nothing behind to be cleaned up). They even managed to avoid stepping on my plants that are growing under the window right where they probably needed to work! I appreciated their thoughtfulness and their professionalism!

I was extremely pleased with my dealings with this company from start to finish. The window was broken the day before leaving for vacation. They were available to come out on an emergency basis to repair it that day, but I was unwilling to pay the emergency service fee. However, I liked that it was offered. When the other contractor I scheduled flaked on me, I again contacted Able Glass. At this point, I was on vacation, and in an area where cell service was spotty at best. Danylle was accommodating and able to do the scheduling via email. She was professional and efficient in her emails. She gave me 3 times to choose from and promised a 2 hour window, with a 1/2 hour courtesy call from the tech. When I returned from vacation, I had the appointment scheduled and they called the night before to confirm the 2 hour window. The service tech, Ron, called 1/2 hour before coming, and he arrived right on time. He measured the window and wrote the estimate down on his business card before proceeding. I OKed it and he began to work. We had new landscaping I asked him to be careful around, and he was. He placed heavy blankets both inside the window and outside the window as he worked. He worked efficiently and was careful to clean up the glass he removed. He also vacuumed the window sill area and anywhere inside on the carpet that had any debris, though I think it was mostly contained in the heavy blanket. I also had another window that was missing about 6" of glazing. When I asked if he could fix that, he offered to do it at no cost to me. Overall, I was very happy with the service this company provided, and the professionalism they displayed. They would be my first call in the future for any glass replacement needs.

The work was done quickly and only took a couple of days. The crew was very nice. The company and crew were highly professional during the entire process. I would highly recommend them.

I was very impressed and pleased. I received exceptional service from the woman in the store- who graciously and knowledgeably answered all my questions and offered ideas when asked. We had already committed to a company, but if we hadn't I would definitely have asked for an estimate. I would refer others to them without hesitation and would certainly talk to them when considering my next job.

Able Glass is a great company to work with. I m a do it yourself type of person. Eric was more than happy to answer all the questions I had about the process of installing the windows myself. The sliding glass door was too big a project for me, so I had them install it. They did a great job. They were on time, cleaned up after themselves, and did a wonderful job matching the existing stucco. There was one problem with the doors: the manufacturer sent doors that were 1/8 too wide. Eric worked with the manufacturer to get the correct doors and resolved the issue in short order.

They came out when they said they would to provide an estimate. One of the windows has an interior wooden shutter in front of it which needed to be removed to get the window off. They said Able Glass doesn't do that and I would have to find someone else to take it off (and put it back on when the window was replaced). They did not have any recommendation for someone to do that. I got someone from another company who was able to coordinate with Able Glass's timeline and everything went smoothly.

I called Able and the woman I spoke with was very helpful and gave me some options, time frame etc. I was anxious to get it fixed as we were going out of town for the weekend. We scheduled a time for someone to come out and take measurements, and then called later to give me a better time. Since I wasn't home when the estimate was done, Ron called me to tell me the price and when he could install it. They called the day before to say it might be in the afternoon rather than in the morning. I asked that they call my husband 1/2 hour before they came, which they did. The communications were excellent, the price was what they quoted, and they were very friendly. I would most definitely use them again and recommend to others.

They were on time (both for estimate and installation), polite, skilled and professional. They did a great job cleaning up the fragments of the broken old door too. The new door is indistinguishable from the one it replaced. I'm entirely satisfied.

I really do not have to much to say. Able was a nice company to deal with and they did a very nice job. Everything is just fine and I have no issues or problems right now. I do not recall pricing at this time. I do not think that I would ever have to hire them again, if so then I probably would.

I called Able Glass when I noticed the outer pane of an insulated window in my garage was broken. Because the inner pane was still intact, I did not ask for emergency assistance. They sent someone out the next day to measure. He told me the whole window would have to be replaced, and gave me prices for a brand name (Milgard, I think) and a generic replacement. I chose generic and put down a $50 deposit with my credit card. He said it would take 1-2 weeks for the pane to arrive, and an Able representative would then call to schedule a time to install it. Everything worked just as he had said. The new window was installed about 2 weeks later in less than 30 minutes, and it looks identical to the old. There was no mess at all for me to clean up. I was able to pay the balance I owed right then with credit card.

They took forever to come out to my home as they canceled three times but once they finally came, they did a good job. Their price was good as the other companies we searched quoted more. They were very nice people to work with however I just don't think that I will be using them again.

They really did a great job, they cleaned up their mess and they were on time. I thought they were very professional in their work and were very precise. They knew exactly what they were doing.

They even got rid of my old Venetian blinds! We love our new bay window. We can look out and see the mural that my husband painted. The inspector told us the stucco match was the best he had ever seen. I have referred Able Glass to three of my friends.

I called them to schedule an appt to come and look at that windows that needs to be repaired. The person who answered the phone was not helpful or pleasant at all. She sounded like she was doing me a big favor and said she could only schedule 2 hour slot appts. When I asked her if she could schedule me for the first appt in the morning, she said 8am-10am slot was the best she could do. I asked if she can put me down for the first appt i.e. 8am, her response was she could not because the person coming might get a flat tire in the morning and not get there by 8am. If that is how they plan to run their business, I decided that they did not deserve my business.
