We called Mr. Rooter back for toilet backing up in our shower 3/25/15. M.r Rooter gave us a $11,880 quote then made it $9,936. with out the access from out side the house; With Senior Discount the final quote was $8280.00 plus they forgot the work they already did for us. Now why didn't remember us? And it sounded like they knock their own work. They wanted us to do the work immediately; no time to waste. I learn over the years. to get a second and third quote. This is my mother's home. I her daughter just happen to be home when the plugged toilet occurred. The first time my mother call Mr. Rooter no one but her was home. They did ask to talk to some one who could make a good reasonable decision for my Mom since it was obvious she shouldn't be making these kind of decisions (her memory is not well) So the plumber talked to my brother and my brother felt at a bit of a disadvantage not being there and went with the plumber's recommendation. We just felt gouged by now since we got two other quotes. One for $1000 less by Roto Rooter out of Carpinteria and one half the price from Lewis Plumbing on Mission in SB. The one with half the price, $3885.00 i refused to give any info. I received from previous quotes. Roto Rooter ask to re-quote if I got any lower estimates. WE agreed. He seemed amiable and trust worthy and said more details of exactly what he was going to do which we appreciated. He was obviously out to negotiate a good price for his business as well give us a decent market price.

I called Mr Rooter Plumbing after seeing their vans on the road everywhere and talking to my daughter who had used them prior. We had a problem with our toilet which kept getting backed up. We have had other plumbers come out and they would charge us to unclog the line but then the problem would reappear shortly after. The Mr Rooter guys who came out were very professional, came on time and used door mats and covers for their shoes. I liked the fact they took the time to put plastic up so the dust from their work wouldn't make a mess. They were very respectful. They finished the work quickly and we haven't had a problem since. I would call them again if i had another plumbing issue come up.
