Montecito Pool & Spa Service

If you are having Bill do basic pool maintenance with nothing extra needed then you're probably OK but we also had him maintain our fountains and install a salt system which is where the problems came up. On the salt system, his price to install it was very good but we ran into a lot of issues on the actual installation. Bill was able to plumb it in without too much of an issue but was unable to get it working once installed. He had hired an electrician to do the electrical work and it was very clear the electrician wasn't up to the task and couldn't get it to work. Rather than hire another electrician he tried to wire it back up himself and still couldn't get it to work. We were also concerned because the house had previously had an electrical fire so we're were very sensitive to having the electrical work done by a qualified and licensed electrician. This is where it got frustrating because he basically stopped all work and the pool sat for over a week without anything working and unusable. When I asked him about it he said he was waiting on the electrician but he was tied up on another job and not sure how long it would take but likely at least another week or two. I finally hired my own licensed electrician who had it wired up correctly and working in less than 30 minutes. I figured everyone has a bad day now and then and kept Bill on but made a note to keep him only doing pool maintenance and not anything beyond that. The second issue came with maintaining the fountains on our property. As you would expect, we get algae every now and then but that amount of chlorine Bill used was so high that it destroyed the filters on the pumps and killed all the grass around the fountains. I had another pool company come out to get a quote since I was getting frustrated with Montecito Pool at this point and they said the chlorine content was so high they characterized it as "red hot" and to keep the dogs and any animals away from it until it could burn down some. It was at this point that I finally said enough is enough and ceased my relationship with Montecito Pool.
