water heater repair
+ -1 moreCarroll Plumbing has to be the most unprofessional, disrespectful plumbing business in town. I was quoted $300 labor to replace a water heater that was still under warranty so I had them do the work. I was shocked to receive a bill of just under $800. The invoice showed a charge of $175 per hour for 3 hours of work. I timed the plumber and he was here exactly 2 hours and 10 minutes. When I asked about the discrepancy, I was told they were charging me "driving time" which means I paid 50 minutes of drive time when their office is 1/2 mile from my house. I was also charged a $175 "warranty procedure" which was explained to me to be a charge for picking up the water heater that was actually shipped to their store from Rheem, the water heater manufacturer. These people are total rip offs and the front office is manned by people that are rude and condescending

Description of Work: Call them for my kitchen sink is leaking and told them I can see the cabinet wall piling.. Whe the service person come, I was told to.. 1/ replace the sink faucet..the qoute is reasonable $ 120 for the part for Moen basic one head Low arc 2/ replaced water filter....he first quote $350 then came back with the equipment and said he was wrong it should be $450. It raised my suspicious so I google and find exact the same thing direct from company for $240. I ask if he will match the price or somehow discount the parts.. he said the most is 10%, so I decided to buy the set from the Internet and call them for next job.. The problem is, he quote me the two jobs together is 2 1/2 hours, after i choose to do one, he still charge me two and half hours with travel and talking on the phone outside.. I know Santa Barbara service is very pricy and they Never carry anything in their truck...Shoping charge is very common in town.. But, greedy and dishonest irritating and cheating !! My advise.. Do check your parts for price and make sure you got good deal..do tell the operator your problem and make sure the service person came with right tools and parts..believed me, they Do carry them in the car! Don't let them take advantage and charge your time...
