Abbey's Carpet City & Flooring

I did not like the fact that Abbey gives you no credit if you remove the old flooring and carpet. Other companies gave credit for this and so I pulled it out without thinking but they refused to change anything on the quote. II was impressed with the service and the workmen. They were very professional and worked really hard to see that everything was done correctly. For a particularly difficult transition between some tile and the floor, they sent a workman who worked very hard to match my flooring and make sure this was done to my liking. I am not as impressed with the carpeting. It was a light color but I remove my shoes when I come in the door and the carpet is not even a year old and filthy. Also, no one said anything to me about where the carpet was made (which salesmen from other companies did) and if I had known that the flooring and carpet came from China that would have made a difference to me. (I realize that this is pretty much my fault as I should have been more aware) I find it weird that the carpet is dirty in corners where I don't even step. My vinyl flooring is also hard to clean and gets smeary if I wipe up water spilled on it. So, I would say that the quality of the work is high but buyer beware and ask lots of questions before you buy.
