The Termite Guy

After the treatment I still was seeing pest and was dissatisfied. I called them back because they sent me a bill, but I informed them I had paid ahead of time. They only gave me excuses and didn't answer my concerns. I wouldn't use them again in the future.

Overall, the interaction with the company went well; the office staff was competent and friendly, although there were some communication glitches. The inspector/estimator showed up on time and did his job in a thorough, professional, and friendly manner. The estimate was a little late in coming: we had to contact the office to remind them to send it via email at least once. When we received the detailed estimate for work recommended, we asked if we could have some of the work done instead of the entire recommended work but were told we could not. The total cost of recommended work was higher than we had anticipated: $3,700.00. Because of the lack of flexibility of the contractor and the high cost of the proposal, we decided to seek another estimate for the part of the work we could afford and had that done by another contractor for $1,600.00. The $99.00 we spent was probably a good deal for what we got: a professional inspection and estimate for recommended work.

The technician that came was very professional and showed up on time. Their customer service was not up to par.

I originally called and scheduled an appointment after buying a and quot;Big Dealand quot; offer of a free inspection plus $500 worth of termite treatment services for $100. However, the appointment was cancelled by the main office without much notice so I had to reschedule which was inconvient for me and is reflected in the score I gave the service provider. However, aside from that, the inspection went well. The technician did a detailed inspection of both the exterior and the interior of my property. He spent alot more time than I expected and checked all accessible areas (under the sinks, rafters in garage, etc.) He found evidence of termite activity and made note of the locations. He educated me on the different types of termites and the different treatments available. All this was later provided in writing along with a quote for multiple treatment options (it took longer than expected for me to receive the quote). The price quoted seemed very reasonable when the $500 credit was factored in. I would have used them to treat my property but it turned out my HOA covered termite treatment for free as long as I used their preferred contractor (not an Angies List rated company) so I used them for the actual treatment. Overall, I was satisfied with the inspection and would have been comfortable in trusting the Termite Guy to treat any termite problem.

We saw the offer for a complete termite inspection and, based on the reviews for The Termite Guys, we decided to jump on it. We called them up and they were excellent in their response time. They sent someone within a couple of days. Teraign was great, very polite, very professional, very thorough. He did his thing and when he was ready to leave he informed us that our house was safe from Termites and we would receive a report by email in a couple of days. Two days later we received our report.

The inspector was prompt, polite and did a very thorough inspection, and gave a detailed report. The person who did the work was also prompt, polite, and did a through job. We had requested the job be done late in the afternoon, and had no problem getting the request filled. And all our questions about the chemicals that were to be used were answered. Everyone, from the people handling the phone calls to the ones who came to our home, were very professional and helpful.

I misunderstood what the $99 for $500 Worth of Termite Exterminating means, or is the ad misleading? I thought I was paying for $500 worth of exterminating. I am out the $99.

Representative arrived within the estimated timeframe and walked my property to search for termite signs and damages. A quote was produced after the inspection and a formal quote was received via email.

Overall I feel it went well. I did not know who to hire, so got a membership to Angie's List. The Termite Man was listed, and had a $500 discount. Paid $99 for an inspection. They said we had infestation a number of places, and recommended tenting. The company that did the tenting was a subcontractor, and everything went well. The Termite Man said they gave free ant treatment with a paid fumigation. Arranged for the treatment and the technician was a little late. But he was very informative, and he did a good job.

The person who came seemed careful and thorough. It is too early to tell whether the treatment will keep termites away from the wood for years and years.

We had a HUGE ant problem before we moved into our new home. They did an amazing job eradicating the ants and were very fair on pricing etc. No upsale.

Poorly as described above. I will request a refund.

Estimates were very confusing on what was recomended and what options i had to choose from. Communications between the inspector and the people generating the proposal was not good. It took about three times to get it right. I did not expextto have this kind of trouble. The service, once things were straigtened out, went fine. Had problems with trying to make payments. Office person seemed to not know what types of payments were excepted.

I bought a $99.00 coupon for services from the Termite Guy in April of this year--which has been an extremely difficult year for my husband and me. Both of us required major surgery. First, I underwent a total reverse shoulder replacemet to my right shoulder, a result of a serious accident. Rough surgery and long and painful recovery. I simply was not able to even think about termite inspections for a long time. Shortly before the coupon was to expire in October, I was setting up the inspection with Nikki at the Termite Guy when, as poor luck would have it, another accident undid my husband's previous back surgery. He required an immediate operation. When I explained all this to Nikki at the Termite Guy, She was so kind. She understood that once again our termite inspection would be delayed, and since the coupon was about to expire, she suggested I ask Angie for a refund (which hadn't even occurred to me). She told me to let her know when were ready for the Termite Guy. How is that for good service? I was so moved by Nikki's empathy and kindness, that I will never forget it. Now as this year moves to its close, my husband and I are both feeling much better. Right after the New Year, I intend to call Nikki and set up our long overdue termite inspection. It went well the men were here a couple of hours. They did all we thoght they would. How much can I write about termites. I am done with this report. Rita Banul

I called early in the week to schedule an appointment, thinking it would have to be in the future. She had a time for me that Thursday. The guy called to tell me that he was on the way and where he was coming from, so I knew when to expect him. He was polite and professional. At one point, he thought he found some evidence of termites. A few minutes later, he said he had been wrong and showed me what he had seen. He did a thorough inspection and did not find any termites. I almost wish he had, because I really liked the way they conducted themselves. He was honest and upfront and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need.

I did not have The Termite Guys do the job. I thought I was out the price of the coupon but Angie's List did give me a refund.

They did a fine job. They were accessible and fulfilled their agreement.

It was very helpful, we have been trying to find someone to do it and even though we have not made the call to complete it we will soon.

Did a complete and thorough check in a very professional manner. They were friendly and knowledgable. They also sprayed the perimiter of my home for insect pests.

Have not scheduled nor completed the work yet. Just submitting review of initial appointment.

This was my first experience purchasing a Big Deal. In this case $99 for $500 worth of termite services. We have received two estimates, one for treating locally and one for tenting the property. Both estimates will be lowered by the full $500. The estimates, even before the discount, are very reasonable. We are still trying to decide between the two.

It went very well. They were flexible about scheduling, arrived right on time and the technician was very professional and friendly. We walked around the yard together to spot problem areas and he gave me a lot of information about foliage and pests. He then went about his business of spraying both the front and back yards. I am happy with the service and know that the Angie's List price was a very good deal as I have paid much more for one time spraying.

I called to set up an appointment to check my home for termites/dry rot. Rick (Derrick) came out. He did not check everywhere; just asked me where I had seen termites. I have kitchen cupboards to the ceiling; all he did was stand in the kitchen and shine a flashlight into the cupboards, which were full of stuff. I mentioned that he should remove some of the items to see if there was termite dirt, but he said it wasn't necessary. I told him that I would like the attic crawl space treated. He said it was too small for access, but that he would spray from the attic opening. He checked the outside fascia etc., showed me areas that had either termite or dry rot. He assured me that the affected areas would be cut out and replaced. The HOA where I live accepted his bid (the other bid was higher) and he came with two workers on Friday, 28th. After a few minutes he drove off, leaving the workers; only one person was able to communicate with me in a basic way. They started work -- after 1/2 hour I went outside and saw that they were NOT replacing the affected area, but scraping out the damage and then filling it with bonding. I immediately told them to stop and call Rick. He told me that altho he had verbally promised that he would replace the affected areas, his bid said and quot;repair/replace.and quot; I asked him about the crawl space and he said that he never saw any termite activity! He didn't even access the attic, so how could he see if there were termites? He said that I should have read the bid more carefully. I have an inoperable glaucoma; therefore I am losing my sight. I find it very hard to read very small writing; the bid was in tiny writing. I assumed (yes, I know what that means) that they would do an excellent job. I do want to say that although I will never use The Termite Guy again; the supervisor that he left, replaced at his expense all the areas affected when I told him to stop work.
