The Electrician

Once again, George was a real pro and knocked out this job in a few hours. He installed two new outlets in my garage/man cave and troubleshot a light fixture that was in one of the bedrooms. After detrmining that the light fixture was bad and needed a transformer, we made the decision to get a new ceiling fan/light fixture and he agreed to install that on the job as well. The work was performed on the spot and while I ran to home depot to get a ceiling fan, he knocked out the outlets in the garage. He is very prompt, professional and easy going. We feel comfortable having him do work for us and as always the price is right.

I knew that this wasn't going to be an easy job, having to crawl around in a blazing hot attic, but George was up to the challenge! I managed to get as much of the "prep work" done ahead of time (centering the fan locations in all 3 bedrooms and installing 2x4's between the joists as needed). All George needed to do was cut the 4 inch hole for the overhead fan box, run the Romex from the fan box to the top plate down the wall to a new 2 gang light switch and install the fans. George was very helpful and even recommended installing remote control units (which were not included with any of our 3 fan kits). Must say...that was a great idea! George even went as far as to replace a bad outlet for us at no charge (it had fried years ago when a lamp shorted out). Look forward to having George back to serve us for all our electrical needs!

George scheduled an immediate apt and was professional, knowledgeable and quickly identifed and corrected faulty GFI electrical oultet in master basthroom and bad wire coupling. He also checked other house circuits to ensure no shorts or other faulty wiring. Had great suggestions on wiring garage lighting system and provided tips--i.e. place small amount of petroleum jelly on end of light bulbs before screwing them into socket to make future replacements easier. Delightful guy!

George arrived promptly and listened to what my problem was. He diagnosed the problem and provided a solution. The problem turned out to be with the pool light which he then referred my to a pool company. While he was there, replaced a GFR outlet which was close to failing.

George and his helper are excellent. Punctual, professional, and good at problem solving. They are extremely careful and friendly. Nice to have around! They were here on 3 separate days installing various fixtures and outlets.

This man is a gem! We have some rental property about an hour down south and had a call from a tenant that her power went out, during a rainstorm at that! Under the circumstances, we were responsible for putting her up in a hotel if we couldn't get it fixed quickly. Mr McCutcheon ( aka The Electrician) came out almost immediately, despite the weather, and restored her power within just a few hours, working in the rain. He called us promptly to let us know the job was done. Happy tenant, very happy landlord!! As we are 50 miles north of the property we rarely have the opportunity to check the adequacy of repairs. We can't even check whether they are necessary or not. So, we need workmen who are competent, honest, fairly priced, and who get back to us in good time to let us know what they found and what they did.. Mr McCutcheon fits all these categories and happens also to be an extremely personable and nice man. We recommend him without reservations to any and all.

I called The Electrician (George) on Monday and scheduled an appointment on Friday to remove and replace some old security light wiring from a DIY job I did some 10-15 years ago. Scheduling went without a hitch. George called the day before to confirm the appointment and he arrived 15 minutes early on the day of the appointment. We went over what I needed done and he quoted me a price of $300 for 3 hours work to remove old wiring, install some conduit, an outlet and new wiring. About 2 1/2 hours later he finished and walked me thru what he had done. A perfect hassle free job. I would definitely hire him again!

My man George ... he is so AWESOME and came through for me again. It took him nearly 30 mins to figure out the electrical wiring in the condo that my daughter purchased. It was like trying to figure out a puzzle but George found the problem and reconnect the wires so that the dinning room could have a ON/OFF light switch again. George even removed the old ceiling light fan and installed the chandelier that my daughter purchased. George is extremely trustworthy and the work he does is worth every penny you pay!!!

George was very prompt in returning my call. We played a bit of phone tag but he called several times and we finally connected. He showed up on time, diagnosed the problem, explained everything in detail to my wife and charged a reasonable price for his service. Definitely a number I will keep around to use or pass on to friends.

George did a FANTASTIC job correcting the sloppy and incorrectly installed light switches and outlets that was done by a handyman (I did not know he was not a licensed contractor) who was referred. After I paid this "handyman" I realized that his work did NOT LOOK right. Checking Angie's list, I found "The Electrician" (George) and he came out right away. He is HONEST, and dog gone good. Showed up 20 mins early and just a great guy!!! I DEFINITELY will call him again if I have another remodel because his FAIR, HONEST and most of all very reasonable. Oh.... get him to tell his iPad joke. It'll crack you up. Thank you George for saving our home from catastrophe.

A true professional. George arrived for the work day early, always a good sign. His truck is a monument to efficiency. He went to work right away, and completed all tasks in a highly professional manner. Very congenial. Communicated well throughout the process. Highest recommendation.

George was a huge help and I will definitely use him in the future and recommend him to friends & neighbors. When I left him a message asking to make an appointment, he called be right back. Later, he called the day before to confirm the appointment time and then showed up exactly as scheduled. George is friendly, extremely knowledgeable and quickly worked through my list of items that needing fixing. He not only did what was needed, but provided a lot of useful information along the way. I was actually surprised by the cost - I expected the work to cost more than it did - so that was a pleasant surprise! George has decades of experience and I definitely recommend him for any project large or small.

We had some water damage in our downstairs bathroom that required most of the drywall to be removed. I decided it was a good time to rewire the wall switches, add a new outlet and have some down lights installed. I called George and the next day he was there promptly at 8:00 am. He is one of the most honest and polite person I've had the pleasure of working with and he does excellent work at a very fair price. This is the third time I have used George and it will not be the last.

I found George's information after calling two other electicians in the area for comparable quotes. George was certainly not the cheapest but based upon his existing reviews, I decided to give him a call. From the moment he picked up the initial call, until he left my home in the evening, George was dilligent, humorous and a pleasure to be around. He called the night before to confirm the appointment and subsequently arrived 10 minutes early (woo hoo!). Rather than just breaking ground when he got there, George considered a number of options to ensure his course of action would be the most efficient. He explained what he intended on doing and even asked my opinion (nice gesture but I am not sure I added much value with my two cents!). George is a consumate professional who has truly mastered his craft in the many years he has been doing this. If he does truly plan on retiring soon, any prospective clients should take advantage of his work while they still can!

George was great. Very thorough and professional. Reasonable price for great work. I felt very comfortable with him. He has obviously been doing this for a long time and his experience shows.

George was fantastic. First of all he arrived 25 minutes early and was just going to do cleanup work in his truck and ring my bell at 0900 as scheduled. I went out and introduced myself and he started 20 minutes early. The first problem was easy for George to find and repair. I had two GFCI receptacles in one circuit in my kitchen and one was bad. This was disconnecting two additional receptacles - one in my den, and one outside my rear slider door. I had a new standard receptacle and George installed it where the bad GFCI unit had been. He did not try to sell me a receptacle, he used mine. Nice. The second problem was more difficult to isolate. I had three dead receptacles in my downstairs dining room and living room. George had to turn off the main power to the house and use a tone generator instrument to determine where the circuit was disconnected/open. This was difficult and included going into the attic and garage. George finally found the culprit. It was a receptacle in the upstairs master bedroom near the rear slider door. He opened the receptacle and the hot and neutral daisy chain wires leaving the receptacle had been disconnected? He reconnected and this solved the problem. Finally George helped me update my breaker diagram to correctly label which plugs were on which breaker. He finished at 5 minutes after 1100 and only charged me $150.00. I added a $25.00 tip. This one experience was worth my first annual fee to join Angie's list.

George is very professional, excellent in his work, and just an overall good guy to work with. He arrived on time, and he called the morning of the appointment to confirm our time. Only small thing would be encouraging George to remind customers upfront about what his hourly cost would be upon arrival ($75/hour). I had forgotten about it due to my own busyness until the end of our appointment. All in all he gets the job done and I would highly recommend him and use him again.

He showed up on time, did his work in a timely and professional manner and cleaned up everything when he was done. We have another job coming up soon and we will certainly call George.

George was great. Came early, did everything I wanted him to do at what I thought was a fair price. I would hire him again. Really only negative is he is tougher to schedule (10 days) and sometimes it takes several hours for him to call back...minor I know.

George has installed a ceiling fan in my vaulted ceiling that had never had one before, fixed some serious lighting problems done by others, installed a chandelier, sconces, outside pot lights, outside fixtures and much more. Every visit George is punctional (usually 15 minutes early) friendly and ready to work. His prices are reasonable and he's a great problem solver. George is a funny guy and tells some great jokes too! He's an outstanding electrician!

George is a seriously nice guy and talented electrician. He went through painstaking work of pulling up plywood in the attic to make sure wiring was safe. During the same visit, he fixed six outlets in the house (which involved repairing some shoddy junction boxes under the house. He will be my go to electrician from now on.

George was on time and great to work with.... a true problem solver when confronted with "electrical mysteries"! So happy with the solutions and results he helped me come up with. He was also able to get here in a quick and timely fashion that fit into my crazy schedule. He will be the first one I call for any future electrical needs.

He was fabulous, he and his wife were unbelievable. He did it in a weekend, he was going on vacation, we were somewhat desperate because my father-in-law was coming and he was sick and just because he's heard the situation I was in, he came on a Saturday, he thought it would take him all weekend, he got it done in one day. He brought his wife, they have a lot of places where they have to break in the drywall, they said they don't fix the drywall, we have to have somebody else fix the drywall. I didn't have to ask him anything, he's fixed all the drywall where he had to break into the wall so there were 2 lines we have to run from one side of the house up to the second floor, across to the other side of the house, he did it in one day on a weekend and he could have charged us a lot more specially on a weekend with no notice. He was kind and generous and his wife as well, just clean and wonderful. He's just a very honest person, probably one of the best I've ever experienced in with anybody coming into my house. I hope I can find somebody in every area that's exactly like that.

We called a few providers and George seemed to have the experience and great reviews for what we were looking for which was to hang 3 ceiling fans and 2 pendant lights right out of the box. George verified our appointment in advance, showed up on time, did a fabulous job with the installation and his quote turned out to be the price (no ups no extras). He's a very nice and engaging individual and works hard to make sure we were please with the results. I would recommend him without hesitation.
