 + 0 moreIt is the second time I hired George for a job. He performed exceptionally last time so when I needed some lights in my garage I thought about him right away. He came on time, I explained him what I needed. We went together to the hardware store, I wanted to be sure that I was buying the right product. He advised me about the different shapes of lights I could have in the garage, he told me that with an L shape I would maximize the lighting. He took his time to do clean and an exceptional work. I was so happy when I saw the final result, he did his best to hide as much as possible the cable and connections. Thank you again George for you great price and great work!

 + -1 moreI am having some cabinets installed in my kitchen and I needed two can lights removed and the power killed to them. The cabinets could not cover a hot power source. George responded on time and was very professional and polite. He did an excellent job and provided us with some very reasonable estimates for some future projects that were are going to have done in about a month and are definitely going to call him back to have them done. He's a great guy. Give him a call if you need anything electrical done!

I explained the problems that needed to be dealt with and he wasted no time diagnosing and repairing the kitchen light switch and replacing what appeared to be a faulty GFI receptacle in the garage. In addition, he noticed a sloppy electrical repair job done by a previous owner and corrected that problem as well. We agreed on a return date for him to properly ground two electrical outlets, and this work was also done. All work was done quickly, neatly and well.
Description of Work: Light switch in kitchen needed to be replaced. GFI receptacle in garage needed troubleshooting. Two electrical outlets required grounding, and this work was completed satisfactorily on a separate date.

Description of Work: We needed the installation of 3 pendant lights in our family room above the island and a fan with a remote on the master bedroom. George came one day for the free estimate, he was on time and I connected right away with him. I could tell that he was honest and experienced, he knew what he was talking about. He took the time to see the possible issues he could encounter during the installation. He was very professional. He gave me an excellent estimation, I shopped around before, and he was under the other electrician. Even if he had given me a slightly higher estimate I would still give him the job because I knew from the beginning that he would do a great job. On the day of the installation, he was at my house even before the scheduled time, being conscientious he wouldn't like to take the risk to be late. He started the hardest job, the installation of the lights. He knew right away where to drill and was very precocious to do a clean job. No mess in the house. I was amazed by his performance. After the lights, he installed the ceiling fan, and once again he did a wonderful job. This is now the only electrician I will call if I have more job to do, and he is the one I will recommend to my friends and family.

 + -1 moreGeorge showed up 15 minutes early, surveyed the situation and explained what he was recommending we do to get my TV in the Garage. He quoted me a price and told me exactly how long he thought it would take. When all was said and done, he was exactly right and did a great job. He was prompt, professional and very reasonably priced. He offered suggestions, options and accepted my input as well. When the job was finished, he cleaned up the area and helped me put everything back in it's place. George is a true professional and a pleasure to work with!
Description of Work: George ran my TV connection out to my garage. He split the signal from a bedroom and extended the cable to the garage and workout room. He provided the coax cable and connection ends and I provided the splitters purchased at a home improvement store. The job required drilling though the wall, running the cable to the areas I needed TV and hiding the wires as best as he could. After the cables were run, we tested the connections and everything was functional.

Description of Work: One circuit was not working, so power was off in a bedroom and family room. George arrived early and tested all the outlets until he discovered the loose wire that was the cause of the problem. After he repaired that, everything worked again. Also, he repaired and anchored some loose outlets in the family room. They had been a hazard because they were nearly coming out when they were used.

Description of Work: George fixed electrical wiring for a backyard gazebo including outlets, a ceiling fan, a fountain, switches, and wiring for low-voltage lights and high voltage electrical outlets on a hillside. He installed new conduits, new wiring, new switches, new outlets - everything. Another contractor had done a sub-par job, and George re-did the work, making it safe, and up to code, and professional looking. He helped me understand which fuses correlated with which outlets. I feel very relieved to know that it is done properly and is SAFE. While he was here I mentioned that I had not been able to find replacement switches for the vent and light above my stove. Without my having to ask him again, he located a place that sold the switches I needed, and called me to let me know that he had found them. He just came back the other day to install them for me.

I think the scope of the project was bigger than he first estimated, but he carried on like a trooper. He also accommodated some mid-project add-ons.
Description of Work: A large number of small to medium-sized tasks involved with the purchase of an existing home were completed: troubleshooting; GFCI outlet installation; recessed-lighting installation; new light fixture installation; removal of excess DSL, telephone, and cable wiring; moving of fixtures and power outlets; etc.

 + -1 moreI asked George to come in and identify the circuit problem and give me a recommendation as to how best to fix it. He took about an hour to narrow down the problem (something that I had already spent 4-5 hours on) and from there, it took another 20 minutes to find the exact wire (broken neutral on a wall switch - affecting everything else on that circuit). The repairs were simple and took a few minutes. Overall, George saved me a lot of time it would have taken to continue to isolate the problem. He was patient, punctual, polite, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him for the type of work that seems to plague a lot of homeowners. In addition, his price was very reasonable. I know other electricians that would have charged considerably more than the $75 per hour that he charged.
Description of Work: I had a problem with a specific electrical circuit that was not working properly. I already knew what the probable cause was and the specific circuit. However, I could not identify the exact problem.

He was easily the most competitive price-wise, and he works "clean" - a lot of folks just kind of let the dust fall all over without taking time to cover furniture, etc. George has a real pride of workmanship, that in my opinion, a lot of the larger contractors lack. He is just top-notch, not just as electrician, but as a person too. I highly recommend him and Linda!
Description of Work: Mr. McCutcheon installed six canister lights in our very dark den. This was not an easy job, since it was on the ground floor of a two story house.
