The Electrician

He and his wife are very nice and professional. The main challenge was that the house was built in the 1950s so the electrical system runs off of a low voltage relay system which makes upgrading wiring a bit of a nightmare. They were both patient, even when the job which probably could have taken them a day or two ended up taking almost 4 days because messy state of the relay system. A bit frustrated with the system he researched what needed and got everything working great. He even came back to fix a tripped relay that was controlling an unseen part of the house.

He returned all calls promptly, he was early, he did great work, at a great price, he is honest and proffesional. My wife felt safe and comfortable with him in the house, he is a kind and ernest Christian.. This is the only elextrician I ever plan to use again.

Everything went very smoothly. My husband and I knew we wanted to install lighting in our living room, dining room, entryway and hallway and we had 2 other contractors come out to give us bids in addition to George. When George came to do the estimate, we were just finishing up a bathroom redesign project and had an electrical question for him that was to be part of the estimate - he ended up figuring out the problem within a few minutes and fixed it for free! Because we were having so much work done, he came to our house a 2nd time to present the estimate in person so he could walk me through everything and answer any questions. Work began within a few days of us agreeing to proceed and lasted 3 days total. The recessed lights are placed perfectly - everything is aligned and George would show me the proposed locations with tape before he started cutting into the drywall. He also went the extra mile in installing a 3 way switch for our stairwell which ended up being much more time and labor intensive than we previously expected. Linda did an excellent job with the drywall patching, especially on the 3 way switch project. George is very professional and knowledgeable. He's also very honest and offers a great value. Most of the work he flat-rated but we ended up going with a time & materials basis ($75/hr) for the 3 way switch. He worked very carefully and efficiently regardless. He took great care to cover furniture and clean up even before he would go to lunch, as well as at the end of the day. My husband and I are extremely happy with the end result and would definitely hire him again.

George is very clean, polite and professional. And he's funny! Very respectful, too. I called George at about 9:30 this morning and he was at my building by 10:40. I explained the issue to him. He came in and took a look around, he gave me his thoughts on what it might be, but that he wouldn't know until he looked into it a bit more. He advised that he charges $75/hr. and that he wasn't sure how long it would take to find the source of the issue. I gave him the green light and left him to his work. He came in after about an hour and told us what the problem was, had the replacement part on his truck and had it fixed within another hour. We will absolutely use him again!

It went very well! George is an honest person who was looking for the simplest solution to my problems, instead of trying to figure out how to charge me more. He was a pleasure to talk to and did very high quality work. He also took the time to clean up after himself and left the room looking like it was when he started. I will use him again!

He was a very good guy. I worked as his assistant actually. He is a real nice guy to talk to. It is very unique to have such good people. He showed up when he said he would show up. He called me in advance to say that he was on his way. He had all the parts that we needed to do the repairs. His hourly rate plus the price for the parts were very reasonable. He did not complain about climbing and he was highly experienced. I will use him in the future.

George went above and beyond in his attempts to make the new light look like the old one. He is knowledgable, affordable ($75/hr) and honest. I would call him again for any electrical job.

First, George was very accomodating of my schedule and agreed to meet me on Saturday. He was prompt, professional, and worked efficiently. He was able to fix the recessed light and faulty light switch in under an hour. I would definitely use George again and will recommend him to friends.

George did a great job for a fixed price. He helped us configure the right places for the lights then took down the old apparatus and installed the recessed lighting and it looked great. He is friendly, and knowledgable. The recessed lights including removal and new hardware were a flaT $125 EACH. Great job. The he also cleaned up some minor other electrical issus for us (a new switch, a new plug, an outdoor light that was not working).

George came the day after we spoke. He gave a written estimate and after we agreed to continue, began work. He arranged with the local electic company to come as well as the building inspector. His work was neat, efficient and he was very personable. George takes great pride in his work and followed up with us to make sure we were happy. Thanks George!

George was able to come to my home within one hour of speaking to him on the phone. He was prompt, arrived on time, courteours, knowledgeable (40 years of experience) & completed the job in a timely manner. I felt comfortable having George in my home. I woould definitely call upon "The Electrician" again.

George arrived 5 minutes early. He assessed the problems, asked relevant questions, and suggested solutions for approval. He had all the parts available in his van. He was very friendly, professional, helpful, clean, reasonably priced, and honest. Once he confirmed my air conditioner was not having an electrical issue, he recommended I use Angie's List to find an AC/Heating specialist.

I was told that a breaker for the furnace could not be found. After George checked everything out, there was not a problem. Everything was working as it should. However the furnace needed a new plug and outlet. The outlet was outdated. also he replaced a light switch with a dimmer switch. George was very knowledgeable and he works quickly. I was very pleased with his work, neatness and price. I will call on him for all my electrical needs in the future.

I could tell by looking at the large number of Angie's list members who wrote very positive reviews that The Electrician was the person I wanted to hire. George is first-rate. He responded to my initial inquiry promptly, was very flexible in setting up an appt. Arrived early on the designated day, and was very professional, careful, and neat--if you hire him, look at the interior of his van and see how well-organized he is; he doesn't have to root around to find tools or supplies--they're all in a place where he can easily find them. We wanted two ceiling fans installed, both of which needed wiring run to the ceiling, one an upstairs ceiling without an attic above it, a difficult situation; George solved the wiring issues involved in running the line to the right place and installed the fan and a wall switch to go with the fan remote quite successfully. Our other fan installation was also problematic, but George knew how to make it happen; he also installed a wall switch for this fan too. I know I'm only supposed to talk about this one visit, but we had him back about a week later to do some other miscellaneous electrical work, and he demonstrated his knowledge and experience in solving those issues. He works carefully and efficiently, and his rates are, in my judgment, quite fair. George wants to satisfy his customers, and that was certainly the case with us. Next month I want him to come back to install some low-voltage landscape lighting. I'm just delighted that I now have an excellent electrician whom we can call on for any subsequent installations or electrical problems in future. I can't recommend him highly enough.

It went very well. I had to change the appopintment time the evening before. He arrived right on time, was very professional and very polite. He stayed three hours. I would use him again.

went overall well....problem was easy to diagnose just not easy to fix. George tried everything he knew and then took a break to think about it more....came up with an alternative that fixed the problem. Part of the issue was the inability to find a junction box due to the way the house was built. Went out of his way to help with a fountain electrical problem too.

The electrician quickly got to work and installed a chandelier in my dining room. Everything went well for that project. The next project I had asked him to do was to make the wires for the receiving box of our entry way fan corrected so that when we pushed the right buttons the fan would revolve correctly. As he got into the project, he stated that this project was "out of his expertise". However he continued to work on it until there was a spark in the fan. After more than an hour, he finally gave up. I would have been happier if he had told me up front that he was unable to do that work. To his credit, he did deduct the time he had worked on it. However, I later had to call in a Casablanca fan repair person to the cost of $325. The third project was to install an electrical outlet in the garage. He did a good job installing the outlet and helped me clear some unsafe wires that had been used in the garage.

George is efficient and neat everything. went very well. Plan on having George back to upgrade electrical service.

George came the week before gave us an estimate & told us to buy the units so that we'd pay what we wanted to pay. When George & Linda arrived we had the units we'd selected ready. They were very professional, hard-working & friendly. Great clean-up too! It's wonderful to have toasty bathrooms now in the winter. A round of applause for George & Linda...they're great! We'll definitely be calling them again!!
