Claude did a masterful job replacing all the cabinet doors and drawers, making creative adjustments along the way to accommodate the old, original structure so he could install the most modern joints for the doors and sliding mechanisms for the drawers. His personality and attitude were positive and very pleasant throughout the entire process. The kitchen looks brand new and gorgeous!

he did a wonderful job with all of the cabinets that they refaced for us. They then deserve special mention when it comes to the kitchen project because the kitchen was not a simple single color. One side was a powder white where the other needed to compliment the brown marble colors there. He very patiently applied that marbling effect to the cabinets on that side and they look beautiful! I cannot stress enough that the marbling effect was not an easy thing, requiring multiple trips in order to get it just right, but he did so without complaint and delivered on our vision for the space. He was very kind and considerate to us personally and very conscientious and respectful to our home; cleaning up every day of work and just working with care. Plus, he coordinated with the other contractors we had working with us very professionally and there were no conflicts in that regard. Claude is just an amazing contractor to work with, he always goes above and beyond, and I can recommend their business very highly!

Claude Sevigny is a cabinet master extraordinaire. Great pricing. We engaged his services for a kitchen cabinet refacing. Our cabinets are well made, but the doors and drawers were showing wear and tear, so we were looking for a vendor who could provide and install new painted cabinet doors and drawer fronts. Claude is always prompt in responding to inquiries, provides timely quotes and updates. Claude is a perfectionist, and his work is top notch. He outsources the actual door/drawer manufacturing and that work was excellent. Work was done over several days, and doors are now installed, nicely aligned, and a huge improvement over that was originally installed. The custom paint job was done to perfection. He will be returning to do a second set of cabinets in one of our bathrooms, so yes, we would rehire! Last year we decided to remodel our kitchen but since we weren't able to change the footprint, we decided to have the cabinets refinished instead of replaced. The old cabinet bones were solid and still in great shape. We looked for a skilled craftsman who could handle the job and found Claude and we are so pleased that we did. After our initial phone call we had him come over and survey the job and he knew exactly what to do. He brought examples of wood and explained how the stain works for each type of wood. We met him a few times at a warehouse for wood stain and he showed us what brands worked better for certain woods. He then would make a sample and have us decide if that was the color we wanted. This whole process took awhile and he was so patient and willing to change it if we needed it lighter or darker. Once we decided on the wood, style and stain he was able to get to work. We originally had a cooktop but wanted a range so Claude took out the cabinet below the cooktop and added cabinets on either side of the range. He also took out the wall oven and replaced it with a pantry. All of the cabinets and drawers are soft close and we love them! It has almost been a year and all the cabinets still look brand new like he just put them in! We are very pleased with Claude's work and would highly recommend him. He did an amazing job!

I recently had my kitchen cabinets refaced by Claude, and I am very pleased with the work he did. He carefully listened and delivered what I wanted to get done. I had white cabinets and wanted to change the color to an olive green/grayish from a picture frame I have in the kitchen. He perfectly had the color matched to it, and it ended up looking better than expected. He also had to make some modifications/adjustments to the frame of the cabinets because new microwave, dishwasher and gas oven were going to be installed. He works very professionally and pays good attention to the details of the overall project.

He was able to find a replacement assembly that works better than our old one, and fit our cabint. He got it in a few days and installed it perfectly. He was very nice to work with, and will call him for all hardwood needs going forward.

We wanted to have our kitchen cabinets updated but didnt want to replace them completely since we werent changing the footprint or layout. We researched, and talked with, several companies and chose Hardwood Construction in Santa Ana, CA. Why? 1. Claude Sevigny is a craftsman who has been working with wood for 40 years, so we trusted his experience. 2. Claude listened to what we wanted and gave us clear answers. His description of the work was more impressive than any of the others with whom we spoke. 3. His quote was EXTREMELY competitive. So, how did it go? INCREDIBLE. I can seriously say that the finished work went beyond our expectations. The kitchen looks great, the quality of the work is excellent, and I cant think of anything that we would have wanted to be different. Here's two examples of Claude's attention to detail: He didnt use paper backed veneer, which every other vendor was going to use, He used solid wood or veneered ply (MUCH higher quality result). And he "lined the inside edges of the old boxes so that when you open the doors it looks like a totally new box. Seems small, but it is a detail that makes a huge difference. Bottom line - if you want any cabinets redone, Claude of Hardwood Construction should be the first one you call.

I've used Claude twice now to have the kitchen cabinets in two separate kitchens refaced. The first set of cabinets was done in a cherry and the second was maple. The end result was "Oh My Goodness" Holy Cow! It looks great! I am simply amazed at the quality of work he provides. The whole process is quite simple. We scheduled an appointment, discussed colors and options. He takes measurements and makes suggestions. Then in a couple weeks he's back and completely remakes the kitchen cabinets. All brand new drawers and cupboards and hardware. The best part was that it is a fraction of the cost of what Home Depot or Lowe's wanted to charge. The first set of cabinets were finished about a 1.5 years ago and they still look great. The workmanship is just flawless, no seams, nothing bulging....great trim, and the hardware is all Top Notch. I will definitely be using Claude again when I need my other cabinets refurbished.

Claude is professional, skilled and completely focused on quality woodworking. He completed a professional estimate, then built cabinets and then came and installed everything. His skills with woodworking and individualizing a project are amazing! It was a pleasure to have him help me renovate my home.

We had a leak in our kitchen that destroyed our walls and flooring. It also required our plumber to take out some of the base cabinets to access the wall behind them. Unfortunately, our insurance didn't cover a lot of the repairs. When I called Claude, he came out right away and told me we could salvage the cabinets, even though the plumbers had not been careful when they removed them. Not only were the cabinets in pieces, the original install was pretty wonky, so Claude had to do a lot of problem solving to make sense of it all. He carefully and methodically put it all back together and I have to say, the cabinets look even better than before. I would hire him again in a minute!

Well, we agreed on a time, he came be to evaluate the project(s) and determine a price. A short while later, he called, gave a price and I asked him to get started. All worked out well and I would certainly call him again.

I originally was planning to have the finish on my cabinet frames removed, sanded and stained a lighter color and new doors installed. I came to realize after having multiple craftsmen look at my job that they would not be able to match the color of the old cabinet frames to the new clean wood doors. I called Claude in to give me an estimate and tell me about cabinet refacing. He was punctual and very competitive on his price. The estimate he gave me was much less than another estimate I received, and the materials he used were superior to the ones to be used in the other estimate. He managed his time working around the delivery of the cabinet doors which I had ordered before I hired him. Each time he came to work he cleaned up before he left. His craftsmanship is second to none and he has a great attention to detail. Any items that were not completed due to waiting for materials, were completed before the job was finished. I would highly recommend him if you would like to update your cabinets but don't want to paint them or go through the expense of a complete kitchen remodel.

I grew up a wood butcher's daughter- table saws, band saws, routers and lathes, walnut, pecan, cherry and more. When I met Claude, I knew I found a Craftsman Extraordinaire! I couldn't afford a kitchen remodel even so my 30 year old red oak cracker box cabinets are completely transformed. Claude offered up several excellent suggestions and created additional cabinet space with much improved functionality.
