Excellent! Mark, the sales guy came to my house to give the quote. He was very friendly and offered an attractive "upgraded" deal without me having to ask for it. He said he had many happy customers and had been in business 20 years. I checked out his contractor's license and it came up as another name in the L.A. area, so this worried me. So I made an earnest effort to check references and they were all positive. One previous customer I actually went to look at her floors. I also drove to his office in Lake Forest to check it out. It was small but looked legitimate. One week prior to the installation appointment I gavve him a check for 50% down. On the day of the installation they were there about 30 min. late. (No big deal!) They worked consistently and finished 1 day early (By Saturday night.) The house was filled with dust. (To be expected...I had my cleaning lady come a couple days later to get my house back in order.) However, they did do a reasonable job cleaning the floors before calling the job "complete".

Mark Madanipour was kind until I signed the contract and then he just kept making me feel bad about the job, raising his voice at me all the time. "why isn't there enough", "you are asking for too much", etc. I had to keep telling him I was only asking for the professional job I contracted him to do and it was his job to measure. The work had a lot of flaws and needed to be fixed. Floor leveling was never done but in the contract and his sub-contractor stated he was not being paid labor or materials for leveling and that is why it wasn't done. Mark tried to install cheap materials and I made him get what the contract stated. He didn't have enough flooring material and had to get more. He didn't supply enough extra baseboard material to allow for bad cuts by the installers and never reviewed the work prior to the final payment. I told him I had to come into his office to sign for the final, but it's not done so don't charge me. He charged me 2 hrs later; thus, I contacted the contractors board and bank and it was learned that he wasn't legal. Even if he gets licensed someday, I would not use him as he was so rude to me and stressed me out very badly that I ended up in the hospital for my heart, that showed just because of stress.
