I first met with Dennis from Five Star in early April 2017; he came highly recommended. It took until June to get drawings that had the correct dimensions and all my appliances (the first set didn't include my oven, so...). After the drawings were approved, it was supposed to take 4-6 weeks for install my cabinets were finally installed in September 2017, so that was twice the time promised. The dimensions of the cabinets were all wrong. The box for the oven was 1" too shallow, so the installer had to do a rough, sloppy modification. The dishwasher opening was more than an inch too wide, so now there's an ugly filler piece, The grain on one of the drawers was going in the wrong direction, so that had to be redone. The drawer under the stove was so shallow that everything was falling out the back, so that had to be redone. The hardware used is cheap and will need to be replaced in a few years, if it even lasts that long. he The laminate on the pre-finished ply wood shelves is peeling and the corners are jagged. It's August 13, 2018, and the finisher just left for the final time. While the cabinets look good on the outside, the quality on the inside is not great. I made it clear that I would not be paying the full amount of the final payment, and to his credit, Dennis knew he didn't deserve to be paid the contracted price because of how poorly my job was handled. We agreed on an amount that left both of us a little bit unhappy. While everyone I worked with is really nice, I would discourage anyone from using Five Star. Go anywhere else; I wish I would have.

Description of Work: Cabinets nice; price competitive. Reason for low grade due to repetitive failure to deliver product in a timely manner. So unreliable that it was necessary to terminate his services halfway thru the job & hire a responsible contractor, By far one of the most irresponsible subs we have ever experienced! Would never use again; would never recommend!

They would tell us they were coming at a certain time and day and then no one would call to tell us they weren’t coming or give us a reason why. Then they would turn up suddenly when no one was home to do work. He has the main boxes done, but hasn’t installed the doors, drawers or painted it. He’s not reutning phone calls. I’ve already paid half the amount. In the contract it says if there’s any delay in finishing, his company would be backcharged that amount.
Description of Work: I hired him to install cabinets in a bonus room. Contract was signed march. He had his guys come by in May 3. that was the last time I saw them. He replied to a text message once to say his guys should be coming to finish, but no one ever came and no one had returned calls since.
