+ -1 moreI initially contacted Capelli Antique Furniture Restoration by phone. Mr. Capelli suggested I bring the chairs in to get an estimate. Mr. Capelli was very helpful in explaining the costs and the issues when considering repairing furniture vs. buying new. I was grateful for his straightforward assistance. He was even more helpful when it came to helping me find someone who could do the cane repair on the rocking chair since they don't do that themselves. I left the chairs at his Santa Ana location and they were finished in the timeframe I was given (a few weeks). The work was excellent. I was genuinely surprised with how great these worn-out chairs now look. Truly first-class workmanship.
Description of Work: I brought two chairs to Capelli's for help with restoration: one wooden office chair circa 1920s and one wood rocking chair with worn/torn cane backing, circa 1900. These chairs were completely refinished. Since they don't do the cane repair themselves, Mr. Capelli also helped me locate resources to do that and facilitated the third-party cane restoration while the chair was in his possession.

+ -1 moreThe outside of the cabinets turned out very nice. Was happy with it. However, was not happy that they charged extra $120 to remove old putty on glass doors and apply new. Also thought they were going to create missing shelves. When I asked how much to do two missing shelves they, wanted $50 each for plywood. They did do one shelf. Need to be very specific about the work you want done with this company. Do not assume. Also, they should let you know how much each item will cost to do and not just surprise you with higher bill.
Description of Work: Two Antique Corner cabinets that needed to be restored. Strip existing finish, outside, repair where needed, build mouldings where missing and reinforce all.

+ -1 moreHE RESTORED SOME OTHER FURNITURE FOR US, AND HE IS ABSOLUTELY A UNIQUE CRAFTSMAN. I'VE NEVER MET ANYONE WHO KNEW SO MUCH ABOUT WOOD, AND KNEW HOW TO RESTORE IT. HE HAS REPAIRED A LOT OF FURNITURE FOR US. HIS WORK IS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL.
Description of Work: IT WAS AN ANTIQUE LOVESEAT COUCH, AND A SEAT I BOUGHT. HE RESTORED THE WOODEN PART OF IT.
