The service provider came out promptly and performed the purchased work. During the time the provider identified that the wrong spring set for a lower weight door was installed, which would eventually cause the garage door opener to burn out. Replaced the spring as well and the door opens quietly and much easier now. The cost of the spring with installation was $295 on top of the original $99 for the tune up and roller replace. Looking online I see that spring seems to be at about $116.00. Which provided $179 for markup and installation seems a little high but I suppose it is a good price. My Perception is that it is not extraordinarily high for markup and installation so I give a rating of 'B' in the Price category.

The service was fine. They suggested further work which I didn’t pursue or want, but the tune-up was fine.

All I can say about Alcosta Door is that they did the job I paid for through Angie's list. However, there was more work to be done and the bid they gave me was much higher than a competitor. When I say much higher, as I remember it, one guy bid $350 and Alcosta $800. This was for work at my business. I recently asked them to bid a new garage door opener for my home, and they bid over $800, a competitor did it for $395. The work they did was fine, but I thought Angie's list also offered value. Alcosta door is no value!

I told Alcoste Garage Door to come this morning at 10 am, and I was hoping I would be home because I usually, but called into work for emergency surgery. They showed up on time, and called me while I was doing the operation asking for the "coupon code." I was busy at the time and unable to get this to him, so my babysitter paid $111 out of pocket, even though the service was already pre-paid. My babysitter wasn't given a receipt, business card of any invoice so we don't know where to go from here.

Door now operates quieter and smoother. Expect them to try to upsell their services at much higher rates. The special was good though and I got my $ worth.

Overall, the service was great. I will call them again when the need arises.

The owner returned my call promptly, was flexible in his scheduling & showed up on time. He worked quickly & efficiently & completed the service & installation in 20 -25 minutes. Angies Big Deal cost $89 &, following his advice, I upgraded the rollers offered in the Big Deal to ball bearing rollers for an additional $50. Since roller upgrades weren't mentioned in the "big deal" or our initial phone conversation, the increased cost was unexpected. Also, I subsequently learned that $139 is very close to the going price in my area for ball bearing rollers & a tune up. The owner provided a service & product for a fair price. But, this was not a "Big Deal" .

I was not happy AND did not upgrade. Reason for the C. AND now everytime I open my gargage door I wonder if I made the right choice. Sort of wish, I never bought the deal and shopped around. We in fact, were quoted $150 by another garage company - wish I had that guy preform the service. Lesson Learned.

I called them at 3:30 on a Wednesday and they said they could come out same day. They gave me a call back a while later to confirm that they were on their way. By 5:30 or so, a technician was working on my door. They gave me a couple of options for replacing the spring and quoted labor and parts for both. Work took about 30 minutes. My only concern is that the door is not moving as smoothly as it used to before the spring broke. I mentioned this to the technician and he agreed with my observation, but said everything looked OK. He kind of implied that maybe we had bent something trying to open the door when the spring broke. He didn't seem to put a lot of thought into how to solve the problem. So, overall I was very happy with the responsiveness, but I'm not totally satisfied with the functioning of my door.

The service was fully effective. The Rep was on time, efficient and did a great job explaining the problem and solution. After having months of problems opening and closing the door with the automatic opener, it was great having the problem fixed. The price was very reasonable and we will definitely use Alcosta in the future.

Mark was courteous, professional and very knowledgeable about the operations and mechanics of the Garage door and the opener. He replaced parts that needed replaced (rollers) lubricated the necessary areas (and explained to me what to use, and how to do it for future maintenance). Highly recommended for any issues regarding garage doors and openers.

The assessment was quick and painless and they got our old garage door opener working with the proper remotes in no time. It was a joy to work with professionals who were deeply experienced and could clearly delineate what the different issues were with the different doors. Highly recommended.

Mark Aldrich is a very professional representative, also fluent in Stanford sports which made for a pleasant conversation while he did the site work. He works from the Santa Clara branch.

They were great. I had them out a couple of times. It was a good price. They came out when they said they would come out. They were very responsive.

Replaced rollers with nylon rollers.

I signed up for this "Big Deal" because I was concerned about a creaky garage door. Eleven days later the door quit working. I never heard from the vendor so, brought someone else in to do the work. Please find out exactly how much I paid these people and refund to me.

It went fine. He did one more thing for me, he replaced the springs which was not unexpected on my part but it did not cost anymore than what the advertisement and they just did some additional work. He's knowledgeable. I'd seen some ads on Angie's List website because I needed work on my overhead door, it needed to get serviced and they fit the bill. They came out promptly and did it. It's not something I really got anything to compare it to and there's nothing negative about it at all.

Bought the $89 tune up and roller replacement. It turns out that I need to spend $20 more for 2 extra rollers as the package was for 10 rollers only. I'm not sure if anything was done for the tune up portion. He told me I should oil the springs and hinges but didn't actually do that for me.

When I scheduled the appointment originally, they never came out, I called to follow up, instead they rescheduled me for another day. That day came and they arrived late. The person came in and only gave me recommendations and said that I would get a follow up call to schedule a time to re-install the garage door. I never received a call for that. Instead I received a call couple days later to let me know that the tech was not able to make it and that I would receive another call to reschedule. I called back letting them know that I had to take time off work and they did not make it out to complete the job. The women was really unprofessional and seemed like she did not care about how I had to take time off, and proceeded to say "Ok, can you call us back when you get time" ?? Unprofessional staff all around. As property owner - looking for a company to fix the 3 doors I have, I'm expecting more then just rescheduling. Taking my business elsewhere.

Wow. Awesome. I read all these great reviews and made the call assuming they?d be fine, but they really are deserving of their very high rating. My garage door started jerking & jumping because it developed a ?buckle? and was on the way to snapping in half, which would have required replacement I made a call to the 510 number and talked to Rodger about setting up a time for him to check on the door the next day. He called back and said that since we new what the problem was it would be more efficient to send the person who specialized in that particular problem, in order to avoid having two appointments. Granzel called me a few hours later with an appointment time, which I confirmed. He showed up when he said he would be here and called to let me know he was on his way. This guy is good. Immediately confirmed the problem & visually inspected the rest of the parts. He fixed it faster than I thought he could by adding two very strong braces. He then greased the joints & checked a few other things. Plus, he was super nice. He pointed out to me that the springs & rollers are very worn (I actually don?t know how old the unit is as it was here when I bought the house), and told me I could wait until they start failing or he could replace them. I want them replaced (I?m not really a ?wait until they start failing guy.? He said he could come back in a few days, so I took the appointment. Great experience.

Alcosta's response was very prompt, and the unit works perfectly. Luckily they were available immediately.

The technician called about 10 minutes before arriving. He was very polite and courteous, and seemed to know his business. He removed the broken spring and upgraded us to a higher quality one, which he oiled. He also oiled the rollers so that the door would run more smoothly. I received a 10% discount upon mentioning that I was an Angie's List member. I do not know if this is company policy, but I was very pleased with it.

He came and did the work. He was very professional and very nice. There were no problems whatsoever.

Went well. Only prob was he ran late an hour or 2 but over all, knew what he was doing. He explained very well why he was doing it and what to do for continued maintenance. I am very pleased with their service. Grandziel has had a lot of experience and took the time to clearly state what was wrong with my garage and instructed me on what product to use for keeping the garage rollers from creaking. I don't remember the cost. If there was an option, I would give an A- (not necessarily a B).
