There was nothing really wrong with our door it just needed some oil. My husband wanted him to put a plastic guard on the bottom of the door and said it would be an additional $119.00. I don’t think the value was there and we didn’t get our money worth.

The Alcosta technician was on-time and did an excellent job. He explained what he was doing, why he was doing it and if it was a maintenance item, how I could do it myself in the future. I am very satisfied and would highly recommend Alcosta for garage door service.

Purchased a Big Deal through Angie's List. Very nice and friendly. He took a picture with his phone and showed it to me since I was stuck in bed.

The installation went very well. As I said before, the tech arrived on time, cleaned up, did the work and left.

He called and said they could be out that afternoon. He was on time and very professional. I like to watch people do the work and ask questions and learn. He was friendly and answered my questions. In addition to the $99. for garage door tune-up, my springs were very old, rusty, and had caused the garage door to pause at the half-way point for the last year. (I had to start the opener, then run to to the door and help it go up all the way, or just duck under the door). He replaced those for $360. Watching him, I would not have liked to replace them myself... a bit tricky and he knew how to do it correctly and safely. The door now works quietly and properly. I am pleased with the result. (by the way, they originally installed my garage door many years ago).

This was the most horrible experience we had with over three years of using Angie's list. We never had any problems in the past; we have used the list to get several recommendations. So why such a bad experience: 1. We bought the deal thinking that the person would come and fix the garage. As soon as he came in, within 2 minutes he told us oh you have to fix this, I will be charging you extra for this, this is not on the list. The deal is worth 229 bucks; I am not sure when did garage fixing became that expensive. 2. When we asked him to explain him the complete things that are covered in the deal, he refused. He repeatedly told us that his boss is not allowing him to fix this within the deal. This was completely frustrating. 3. After one hour of work, he told us a bill of 164 bucks, i.e. 229 + 164 = 400 for one hour of work. Really? Note, that there were no extra parts, this was for a one man service. 4. The thing was not even fixed, and as soon as he left, it came apart again. 5. This felt like a big ponzi scheme. We felt as if we were tricked into getting this deal, so that they can just come in and than quote us completely irrational amount of money for fixing.

They arrived on time, did the worked they had advertised, answered our questions. Good experience.

I got the deal for quieting my garage door. I thought it included maintenance but found out it didn't when the serviceman arrived. I had him do both, and he also found that the eye beam that prevents the door from closing when something/someone is in the way was also not working properly. I had him fix that as well. The serviceman worked quickly and did a great job. The garage door is much quieter and works well.

Roger was polite and professional - he ended up being late, but called to let me know before hand.

I bought an angies deal with these guys to have quieter rollers installed on my garage door because it was so loud. The guy came out, took care of the work, then suggested if I wanted a quieter garage door that doesn't wake the neighbors that I should buy one of his door openers that was slightly on sale. I agreed to this and set up an appointment to have a guy come and install it. The Guy who came out was quite amiable. I found him interesting and a hard worker. The garage door is now super quiet, I can open and close it without wondering if I am waking the neighbor. Thanks.

The installation only took less than an hour and works up to expectation

The guy came out in the morning and did some work on the garage door for $99. Then he saw that the spring was broken and so he quoted me another $360 for the spring. I spoke to his boss and he brought it down for $300. I don’t know if I got a good deal or not. I seemed like I paid too much. He finished the job in less than an hour. He seemed to have done a decent job and the door is working fine. I would definitely shop around for a better price in future.

We paid the minimum amount for a visit. I believe he was prepared to replace the mechanism and remount the door if necessary.

The owner came to give an estimate on the same day that I called the company. I accepted the bid, and the installer was there within 2 hours to install the product. The entire time, from the first phone call, took about 4 hours!

I called and got same day service. Very timely, professional, and knowledgeable. Suggested a cheaper solution to the problem. Great experience.

Very professional. Got right to work right away, worked quickly, and finished in about 45 minutes. Gave helpful advice on overall garage door maintenance. Cleaned up and took away old parts.

I called expecting to make an appointment for later in the week, but he was available within 2 hours the same day. He worked quickly and fixed it in one hour.

Repair person came, immediately saw problem, knew exactly what to do, had all parts with him, all needed tools, and fixed the door, and had it working better than it had in years.

This was done after another company had come around and told us that we needed a whole new motor for the opener. These guys were honest and very knowledgeable about garage doors. I would highly recommend them to others with older model overhead doors.

Overhead door repaired my garage door by greasing the mechanical parts and doing some maintenance on it. I was very impressed with him and he did some things that he didn't even charge me for. He did a really good job, was professional, honest and up-front about all the work they were going to do.

VERY HONEST & RELIABLE. CAME EARLY. HE HAS A GOOD KNOWLEDGE ABOUT WHAT HE IS DOING. TOLD ME MY OPTIONS & WHAT EACH WOULD COST. EVEN GAVE ME A CREDIT TOWARD THE NEW ONE, IF HIS REPAIR DID NOT HOLD.
