It was fine. There was no extra charges just the Big Deal. It was a good value. I think they were definitely on time. They did a great job. The technician who came out was very knowledgeable, very efficient and took care of it and overall it was a pretty good experience. I would absolutely use them again.

At first, I couldn't contact the vendor because their phone number was not provided on Angie's List. Eventually though, I was able to contact them. Once that happened, I called and scheduled an appointment. Mr. Granzel, the vendor, arrived promptly and was very courteous. He went right to work and completed the job in a relatively short time. My garage door is now very quiet, and I am pleased with his work.

It worked out great and I didn't spend any more money other than the price of the deal. They were great, they came out when they were suppose to, the only thing that they didn't do so well was they weren't returning our calls right away but when we finally got through to them they came out when they said they would. I didn't dislike anything else, they did the job, came out on time, my husband met with them and we don't have any negative feedback.

Roger was able to come same day as I called to get the door fixed. He showed up at the time period he said he would be here. He was very professional and even provided pointers on how to keep the hinges oiled and running quieter year round. Roger was in and out in less then an hour, replacing both springs and reconnecting the garage door. I was very happy with the service and the quick response as I was off of work for only 2 days. I would use them again in the future.

Roger of Alcosta Co was extremely responsive and was available the same day for an inspection/quote. He arrived exactly when he had committed and inspected by garage door and existing opener and installation. I had a system in mind that I was interested and Roger was very helpful in explaining the differences between the different models. He was also able to provide information about improving my existing door performance and noise level. I have complete confidence that Alcosta is a full service garage door service provider and feel comfortable that they will provide top notch service. While I chose an alternate solution for my replacement it was almost hard to do that because they company was so responsive, helpful and knowledgeable.

Arrived on time, answered all questions clearly and completely, completed the work quickly and inspected the entire automatic garage door system and confirmed that everything was working properly. Very satisfied.

I've lost faith in Alcosta Overhead Door

We had to upgrade to stronger rollers because we have wood doors thus the higher cost. One door has stopped going up all the way after a week but don't think that is their problem. Before leaving I was told to put some clear nail polish around the bolts right away to keep them from loosening. Haven't done it yet. Over all it is a great improvement. The person who did the work was very easy to deal with and I would use again.

Initial contact wasn’t good – they were swamped by the Big Deal. I had to call them proactively and make an appointment. They did what they said they’d do in the deal, but there were some other issues that needed to be done. I had the feeling that he wanted to sell me additional services throughout the entire visit. The technician said he’d come back in a week to fix it, and he hasn’t been back.

Provider response and work was quick .

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was okay. They were looking for problems to make more expenses. He convinced me so I decided to to have my springs replaced and so I paid more. I would recommend them for their service. Hopefully they're using high quality parts. It's working out fine. They're just kinda far and service all over the Bay Area.

This was a special deal from Angie's List. Great service: punctual arrive and fast to complete service. Took time to explain what he was doing and how to prevent recurrence of the problems we were having.

The work they did was very good. The new nylon rollers did reduce the noise of the garage door However, it took almost 10 days to schedule the appointment from the time I purchased the "deal". All in all, I would say this company is worth working with.

It was not at all well. I got another company eventually through a recommendation from a contractor friend of mine and he charged me $20 to quickly fix the motor that the original company that I got from Angie's list wanted to replace for $600 and I refused. I actually got another contractor in three days ago and he refused to charge me. He said, "Oh! no it's just the sensors have been misset" and he had it fixed in 6 min. The Angie's list guy made a big fuss. He said it was ruined, it was no good and the only way to get it going was to spend $600 on a new one which he just happened to have in his truck but I was suspicious and I didn't go for it. I still had to pay him his $100 because he came out but basically he either didn't know what he was doing or he was a cheater. I dismissed it just as a bad deal. For all I knew he could have been right but I got this other guy and he did. He just fixed it instantly. The whole thing was very bad. He was on time. That was the only good thing I can say about it. He was fraudulent.

My wife heard a loud noise last night but we couldn't figure out what it was. This morning, when the garage door wouldn't roll up we quickly saw that one of the two springs on the roll up door was broken (clearly the source of the noise the night before). Her car was outside so she was able to go on to work. I was going to wait till 8 am to make sure that someone would answer but Alcosta Overhead Door advertised 24 hour service so I went ahead and called at 7:30 am. My call was immediately answered by Roger. He offered a time between 9:30 and 11:30. He, Roger, showed up right in the middle of that window. He quoted a reasonable price to replace one or both springs. He told me these springs typically last 8-12 years and our door is 12 years old. So clearly I chose to go ahead and replace both. Roger went right to work and had two new springs installed in about 30 minutes. He was friendly and professional. I told him I had seen his company with good reviews on Angie's List. I hadn't even noticed that there was a coupon available for a 5% discount. I only saw that when I came back here to write this review. But when he figured the total, without me thinking about any discount at all, he offered the 5% Angie's List discount. A nice finishing touch to a completely positive experience. Within four hours after we first discovered our broken door early this morning, the door was back in service again. Great service from Alcosta Overhead Door...

Excellent work. He was flexible about scheduling and turned up on time. He explained what he was about to do and then got the work done quickly and well. In the process he noticed that the garage door springs were not adjusted properly and the cable spools were not aligned properly. This was from a different company that did a sloppy job on my last spring replacement. Alcosta corrected everything for no additional charge even though it was not part of the service I ordered. I really appreciate that he did a great job and went beyond my expectations.

The service man was excellent and very polite. He also explained all of the work he performed.

It was a little difficult to get it scheduled, but once I called them and spoke with the person at the end of the line, he gave me the number of his colleagues who was closer to my house. The colleague scheduled, came over and did a great job. It was hard getting off the start. Once I finally got them over, they did a great job.

No foliow-up and no work ever completed; I had to contact another service provider

Every appointment was on time and he was very reachable at all times. My only challenges were 1. Price - He told me that he'd give a quote when he showed up, no cost to this. But when he showed up he told me there would be about $80 for him to check out the door to see what was wrong. Thankfully this was waived when we opted to replace the opener. But he originally told me the cost of the opener included the install but then the install ended up to be extra. Some miscommunication there. When I compared with other services like Chandler, at the end of the day he was about $200 more. However he gave a further $50 discount which took the cost to the $624 and it got fixed by the next day. 2. I was surprised when another person showed up to do the actual install the next day. I understand the job was subcontracted to this other person. He got the job done but I was surprised. I would use this company again if I had a critical issue needing immediate attention and if I was not concerned with cost.

He returned my call (it took a bit to get the right person, but once I had him he was very responsive). He was working the holiday, which was great for me and it took under an hour. He also provided me with information about putting in a motorized garage door opener which I will do sometime in the future. Very pleased.

I had been having trouble with my garage door opening up. He discovered that the spring on the door had broken completely into two pieces. He repaired that, along with the service. He took care of it on the same visit. I think he was the owner. He came by himself and was very efficient about it. He was very nice and listened to me. I couldn't figure out exactly what was broken and he was patient with me and explained and showed me what had broke and how things worked. It was a very nice visit. He was very quick and it was very satisfactory. The only thing I didn't like is that he seemed to be in a hurry and I felt he was probably trying to get through working with other people who had the Big Deal as quickly as possible. He was a little bit hurried, but not rude and not impatient. He answered everything for me.
