Turns out this company wasn't our original company, and the free upgrade came with a 3 year contract. They charged more, and ridiculously charged an extra $2 each month to pay via online payment. After completing the 3 year contract, and meeting their overdetailed requirements to cancel our service, this company continues to NOT cancel service and bill us. I've paid off their bill with each request of cancelation, twice. This is not an honest company. I've spoken with customer service 3 times and still the company will not cancel our contract. It's a revolving door of "never getting the bill paid off, in order to keep us under contract", which will never end.

Terrible. They have attempted on more than one service call to successfully repair the problem with the sensor and it has never worked properly. They do not directly employ their own Technicians and since they are contracted out it takes multiple phone calls to schedule service and several days to get a technician on site. When they finally do show up, they are never consistent in their approach and have always told me the one before them didn't do something correctly. There is no standardization to their service scheduling and delivery process. They also never seem to have the parts needed which causes further delay and having to go through the process all over again. Typically as much as another week or two. After having this terrible experience and with them not being able to correctly repair the problem, I elected to cancel my service. Then another nightmare began. Although the initial and subsequent service requests were a few months back, today was my last contact with them in their customer service department where I ultimately ended up settling with them and paying for a monitoring service I could not use because I have not been able to set my alarm due to the multiple false alarms triggered by the unresolved issue of the back door sensor. After over 6 years of being a loyal customer and more than fulfilling my initial contractual service term, all they seemed to care about was me paying the remaining months on my agreement which they told me had an automatic renewal clause in it. I had previously sent in the required 30 day signed cancellation notice which of course they magically never received. Anticipating this, I had kept a copy of my fax confirmation so I scanned and emailed that and the cancellation letter in again. I never received the call back they promised and had to call in again and ultimately pay almost $220 to settle my account. It's absolutely been the worst service I've ever experienced and would never recommend anyone use this company for alarm installation or monitoring. I also filed a review with the Better Business Bureau. I was never connected with a Supervisor and their standard answer on anyone getting back with you or anything else you might need with respect to your account is that it will take 2 to 3 days. Sad that their actions show they could care less about a long-standing customer of over 6 years, and in my opinion also a very distinct sign of their leadership in the Company. Nobody worth their salt would have allowed this to happen. Good Companies and good people do the right thing, stand behind their product, and truly value their customers. My personal experience with SAFE Security is they have absolutely none of these qualities and sadly, they don't seem to care.
Description of Work: Attempted to fix back door sensor which kept tripping a false alarm.

The alarm company that I had dealt with for over 20 years was purchased by Safe Security. A letter was sent to the previous company's clients to contact Safe Security and have the alarm system re programmed to be forwarded to Safe Security. This was to be a in home project. I mis placed the letter. When another letter came from Safe Security asking clients to test the alarm system, I figured I should get this taken care of. I called the number listed and the agent could not find me in the Safe Security system. I was told I must have the wrong company, so I just forgot about this and was planning to take care of it on another day. Soon after that, I received a bill for monitoring the alarm that was not yet being monitored. I knew at this point, I do not want this company as a place I spend money. I called customer service to explain my situation. I was told after a brief conversation that I had a contract and had better abide by the contract. I contacted a department that is called "retention" and finally got them to understand I do not want their services. I was told and that if I sent them over $66 and a signed letter stating my wish not to receive service, that was satisfactory with them. The letter was sent with a check and the check was cashed. I thought this was the end of it. In about two weeks, I get a past due bill for the remaining monitoring service period (the total original bill was about $99). I ignored it. In about a week,I got a call from a Safe Security account receivable person about the past due bill. After my getting a little "huffy" he hung up on me. I called back and asked for his supervisor. I got an answering device and left a message. Two days later I still had not received a return call from anyone at Safe Security. I called the person who originally called me about the "past due" bill and would not help me at all. I emailed to the Safe Security and got no response but did get another "past due" notice. I finally wrote a letter and sent it to several people listed on the web site. I got a phone call a few days later saying my issue was resolved. This all took about six weeks. Not once did anyone at Safe Security ask how they could help resolve the issue or assist in any way.
