Cracks in the heat excnager on our heating furnace were diagnosed on a routine servicing by a different company that we had hired. The gas to the furnace had been turned off, due to the danger of carbon monoxide leaks from the cracks. Our home warranty company assigned the replacement work to Eco Systems on Saturday, 12/1, who called to say they would be out to assess the furnace on 12/4. The technician came out on that day, but it is not clear that he could see the cracks. However, based on the previous finding, he recommended replacement of the 12-year-old furnace. The home warranty company had not yet received a report from Eco Systems on 12/6, so called them and were told the report would be done by the following day. On Friday, 12/7, the report was received, and a replacement furnace was authorized and ordered. i talked with Eco Systems, who refused to schedule installation of the furnace until they were sure it had been delivered to the distribution warehouse. They said the earliest it could be installed would be the following Tuesday, 12/11. They required prepayment of $750 for required ductwork, rewiring, etc, not covered by the home warranty. My wife received a call from Eco Systems on 12/11 stating that the earliest they could install the furnace would now be 12/19 because it was a 2-person job, and that was the soonest they would have 2 technicians available. We were not happy with this delay, as it was now about 60 degrees in the house throughout the day, since the furnace had been turned off when the problem was diagnosed and the weather had turned cold. On the morning of 12/19, Eco Systems called to say they were "overwhelmed" and would not be able to install the furnace until the following day, with arrival scheduled between 9 AM and noon. On 12/20, one technician, Carlos, arrived at 12:30 and began work. He placed protective covers on the carpets. He began dismantling the old furnace in the attic. At about 2:00, another technician arrived, stayed for about 10 minutes and then left, never to return. Carlos completed removal of the old furnace and installation of the new furnace - all by himself - at about 4:00. So the job did not require 2 technicians, although this was the reason given us by Eco Systems for the 9-day delay in installation. Carlos was courteous and left the work area and access route clean. Inspection of the work showed very little in the way of new duct work and no apparent new wiring - certainly not what appears to be $750 of work. The furnace works well and we have had no problems with it since installation. So, good work but terrible responsiveness/service.

Only if you really, really, really don't value your time and want to waste a lot of it. We were referred to Eco Systems by our insurance company. I could tell from online reviews (Yelp, Angie's List, and the BBB) that this could end badly, but we had no say in the matter. Our first appointment with Eco Systems was cancelled (rescheduled) a few days beforehand. Then it was cancelled/rescheduled two hours into the four hour service time window. Then the tech finally came out, albeit an hour and a half past his service time window. He was did the evaluation quickly and left, saying he would submit the info to our insurance company and get back to us. After not hearing anything for a week, I called Eco System. They said that our claim had been denied. I called the insurance company, who told us that it had been approved. The insurance company kindly offered to get in touch with Eco System to straighten things out. They did so, and we scheduled the follow-up appointment to have the work completed. As with the other appointment(s), we were given a four-hour service time window. Well, the four hours came and went, and since my husband needed to get back to work, we called to reschedule. The guy seemed shocked that we couldn't wait for another hour and a half for someone to come out, and grudgingly rescheduled. That's the other thing -- every time we talked to this guy on the phone, he acted completely disinterested in our business. He was not accomodating, apologetic, or anything like that. He just acted annoyed. If we didn't really want this work done, we'd just forget about it. What a waste of time and energy.
Description of Work: We needed some of our HVAC ducts repaired/replaced. Since we are doing this through our home warranty insurance company, we did not get to choose the contractor. Eco Systems was selected for us. The process is to have an initial inspection appointment for $60. After the paperwork is submitted by the contractor to the insurance company, the work will be approved or denied. If approved, the contractor will come back again to do the work. Our first scheduled appointment with Eco Systems was about a month ago...and we're still waiting for the work to be done.
