C & J FENCING

I got two bids for this work I was impressed by both companies. The price difference was about $300 - C and J was cheaper and included the metal framing and hardware on the gates for no additional cost. We choose to go with C and J as my neighbor had used them previously and was very satisfied. Quality of the finished product is outstanding. I love my fence! The job took 1 1/2 days. They arrived promptly, were careful with my landscaping (no harm was done at all), kept me informed and cleaned up as they went along. Even hauling away the old fence they worked quickly to minimize the and quot;street congestionand quot; on the neighbors.

Great job except the old fence posts were not removed. I guess that's standard, but i'll have to do that work when I need to replace this fence in about 20 years.

They were excellent. Arrived on time, completed work in one day (said it would take two days). They made a mess on my patio from all the mud and cleaned it up nicely. I highly recommend them; very professional on the phone, in person are great workers and high quality product. Price seems very reasonable as well.

They came in the am, finished the job on time,cleaned up. Very good work!

The estimator arrived on time and provided a quote right then and there. In addition, he was able to provide a confirmed date for the work to begin, noting it was urgent due to the fence being in serious disrepair. While waiting for my scheduled date, an earlier date became available and I was offered that date which I promptly took. The workers arrived on time. The fence was supposed to have been completed in one day, but they ran out of boards and had to return the following morning. They completed the work without my needing to be present. After inspecting the completed work, I was able to phone in my payment. The workers thoroughly cleaned up the work site and I now have a great looking fence. The workers were very courteous and professional.

Decent fence and gate for the money. The absolute worst customer service and responsiveness. If you want a call back or leave a message for someone, it will never NEVER be returned. Besides that, I would actually hire them again, just because of the value. If it cost any more I would be seriously upset. This company does 15-20 jobs a day, so be forewarned , you will most likely be at the bottom of there priority list.

Very professional once he got here. The day before our scheduled appointment, time was switched around twice. We work from home so that was not a problem for us. After setting our time, he ended up showing up 30 mins late. :( Once here, we walked around discussed options and was told we would see an estimate shortly. After about 10 days, I emailed him with pictures of fences we liked. NO reply. A few days later, I called. He gave me some excuse about computer being down. Bla bla blah... He promised he would get back to me the next day with an estimate. THAT was two months ago, we are still awaiting.

The Estimator was terrible, had nothing but a and quot;no can doand quot; attitude from the moment he arrived! We have 60 feet of fence and a custom made gate to be replaced. Everything with this man was and quot; we do not do that, we can not do that, we will not do thatand quot;?? When I took him over to show him my other fence, which is in fantastic condition, I pointed out to him the we used Simspon Strong-Tie products when this fence was built to strengthen the fence and add a much longer life to it! I told him I work for Simpson and wanted the products used on this job! His response was and quot;we will not use those products on this job, it will void our 15 year warranty. This fence is still standing and quot;rock solidand quot; after more than 15 years, due to the use of the metal reinforcements and metal post bases from Simpson Strong-Tie!! We told the estimator that this was a total and quot;deal breakerand quot; and there was no need for him to even quote the job. We will look for a more experienced and state of the art fencing contractor to do this job.

Everything went great! Lance the estimator was very professional. They are super busy so the original install date was actually 6 weeks out from the estimate. They were able to put us on a cancel list and got us in within 3 weeks. The installers were on time, professional, quick and efficient. Cleaned up behind themselves and put up a great fence. Very pleased!

Estimate: Called provider for free estimate. Estimate was pretty much what I thought it would cost, so I did not compare with other providers. I knew what I wanted, so did not bother with any extras -- just a basic fence and gate. The person I spoke with was very easy to talk to. He did not try to sell me any 'extras'. I went with steel posts and he mentioned that I would save ~$300 if I went with standard wood posts. Nice. Office Communications: This is where Cand J fell a bit short. I was never able to reach my scheduling contact when I would call. I would only get transferred into voice mail. The first call was returned after business hours ~ 7pm same day. I requested a confirmation call the day before my new scheduled installation date, but never received one. Scheduling: This was OK, but I was kicked off my first scheduled date. When speaking with the office I asked if they could provide me a time estimate of when the crew would arrive for my second scheduled date. Even though my request was 'noted' I never received a call back the day before the install. It took ~ 30 days from estimate/approval to completion of the job. Work Crew: 3 crew members showed up @ 8:30am and were great. Very hard to dig post holes in my area. They completed the work in ~ 5 hours. Fence is very sturdy and gate is built really strong. They use a metal frame for the gate (I have metal posts -- not wood). They cleaned up the work area well. Overall: I would use them again, but be prepared for a bit of a wait. It can be difficult to get them to call you back.

Positives: They were prompt in returning my call and getting an estimator out for a quote. Price also came in very reasonable compared to a couple other contractors I looked into. The only hiccup in scheduling was they called me less than 24 hours before they were supposed to show and cancelled the first time around. Negatives: Quality of the work was that of a 6 year old. No care whatsoever was made to match the original craftsmanship of the fence, and wood pieces that were installed were very unfinished (not sanded at all, large splintered pieces, cracks, and rough edges). What was supposed to be a 12ft long top piece of 2x4 was actually cut up into thirds (and very crooked). A 6x6 post that was installed is not aligned correctly at all and it was almost as if the foreman made conscious effort to use the most mis-matched pieces of lumber he had on the truck for the fence. Numerous nails also left protruding. Demeanor of the crew also was not friendly, polite, or professional. Will NOT be using them again, and will likely end up getting the work redone down the road.

First the estimator, Lance was at my house on time. He was professional but not pushy. The company was perfect in balancing expectations with delivery and exceeded those expectations by completing the job earlier than the date promised. Finally the fence installation crew was obviously good at what they do, a marvel of efficiency, and responsive to little requests I had like a touch up when the coverage of sealant was missing in a couple of spots. Most amazingly the company has been responsive, even after receiving my payment, about questions my backyard neighbor has.

Lowest bid, excellent work.

They have reasonable prices, they are punctual, however it is hard to get an appointment sometimes.

Very poor service response. Was a simple job. That is what a hate. If it is a small job they ignore you.

I've got 3 estimates, the one was lower but I didn't trust the person and the other one was actually higher, so I got the medium one and they built a beautiful fence, I wanted a surround for my pool equipment and they were very helpful, helping me to design when giving up an access to people coming in and working on the pool equipment and it looks great, it completely hides the pool equipment. I also had some additional storage in it which is nice. There's enough room in the equipment surround that I can also store some items. There's just a little vacant area that has enough room that I can took my garbage can. The things that stood out for me is that they were honest, they also had some sample pictures for the fencing I wanted to be and I thought that the price was very fair. They were very professional, they came out when they said they would, very clean and neat. They have to go on my neighbor's yard to put in the fence and they were very respectful take care of the plants and everything and I have no issues there.

Couldn't have asked for a more professional group. We went to the office where the owner assisted us in selecting the best fence within the budget we wanted to spend as well as providing us information regarding the benefit of upgrading the gates. He explained their approach to materials, sizing of materials, etc in great detail. They arrived on time, completed the work on time, removed all of the debris and were off-site within 4 days. They even offered to bill our neighbors for their share of the cost. They deserve the reputation that they have! True professionals!

I had a very good experience with C and J Fencing. The estimator was responsive. He actually came back on the day of install and made sure that everything was okay. The crew that came worked very hard. They finished the job, even though they were one person short, in one day. It looks good. They gave a fair bid. They showed up on time. The product is good.

I initially called to make an appointment for an estimate in early April. I was given an appointment date for 3 weeks later. I was not home when the estimator came by (as I let them know), so he left the estimate. I called and hired them to do the fence and gate replacement. They called a couple of days later and said they had an opening on April 26th. I again told them I would not be able to be home at the time of the scheduled work. I came home and the fence and gate looked nice, but I noticed a large gap between the opening of the gate and the fence and that the gate was not aligned. I called the following Monday to pay by credit card for the work and I also told them of the issues. I was told that they would have someone come out to look at my concerns and that they would call me to let me know when. I ended up calling them two more times before I received a date for them to come out. They finally came out on May 23rd. They fixed the gap issue but the gate is even more out of alignment. The workers also left a mess of saw dust and pieces of wood both times they worked and I also found a cigarette butt on the ground. I will not be calling them again. Very disappointed.

C&J Fencing could care less about their potential customers...if you're not on their schedule, too bad, they don't need your business.

It went very well. After my initial phone call, Troy came out in about a week to look at the fence and give a bid. He answered all my questions and was nice as well as informative. We had another bid that was slightly less but went with Cand J Fencing as they seemed really interested in doing the work for us despite it being a relatively small project. Crystal, who schedules was Great! We has time constraints and she managed to fit us into a time that worked for us. The whole replacement, including tearing down and hauling away the old fence took about 2 1/2 hrs. The adjacent plants were unharmed, clean up was good and the fence looks fine. I had been concerned about some cable/wires that were attached to the old fence, but it was not a problem. The only disappointment was the lack of a handle on the front side of the gate (the latch is up high!), but it was easy for us to put a $6 handle so problem solved.

They were prompt, friendly and efficient, and incredibly patient and courteous with our changes and delays. At the last minute, we needed to revise the design due to the property slope and they were very helpful. They built an amazing fence that has received many compliments from the neighbors and even strangers stopping to inquire about it.

We have some changes and some design issues, so we will be calling them back. They seemed to be so far good. The response was good. They seemed really professional. We know a lot of our neighbors have used them. They seemed to be competitive with others. The guy came out and did the quote in his truck. He gave it before he left. The price was fair. The response was quick and they were professional. He quoted $2300 for the job.
