A few days ago I had agreed to an in-home "free/no obligation" quote for exterior painting -- I should have gone with my regular stance of NO Solicitors EVER. Their salesman, Dave Anand, who seemed very nice, quoted me for a Tex-Cote system called CoolWall. It was a hard sell with some lies and misinformation about the warranty and such. There was lots of pressure to sign the contract on the spot in order to get a discount. The discount was touted as one from the manufacturer for 5 homes in each area code (and I would have been the third home in my area code he said). The first quote was for over $20,000 and then it went down to $15,000. I have since done a lot of research on the product and their company since then on the internet and with neighbors. Although the product may be OK if done as the manufacturer requires, it seems that it isn't done correctly in most cases, and therefore is not any better than paint. They sell it and the high cost on the idea that it lasts a lifetime (25-40 years). Also, I contacted the manufacturer, Textured Coatings of America, and they said this business is not one of their official dealers, which is the hugest red flag, as far as this product/service is concerned. This company operates under several names and has "corporate offices" in several locations (different family members running each location would be my guess). This company offers all sorts of services like window replacements, kitchen remodels, and the like, but I would stay away from them if I were you.

We were looking for new counter tops (not solid surface) and replacement of two garden windows. No work was done as we became very skeptical about their performance and price.
