Response from Van Midde & Son Concrete
Thanks you [member name removed] for your constructive criticism of our company. After looking into your complaint I have tracked down what happened. Tragically my employee whom your wife initially had an appointment with, needed to cancel because he was with his father whom passed away the day of your appointment. He was able to spend the last day of his fathers life with him and other members of his family. He did schedule another appointment with your wife after taking a week off to grieve. I hope you look into these details which were published in the local paper and you will see that indeed this is what happened on the first day of your appointment. Emails were not disregarded nor were phone calls. I was gone myself on a much needed vacation with my wife of 30 years last week. I said I would look into it and I did. Communication could have been better, I agree. My employee actually called 6 different customers the same day he called your wife to reschedule, from the hospital. The other 5 customers were fine with waiting, you seem to have taken upon yourself to declare war upon my company with your multiple emails to Angieslist. After explaining to my employee that you had criticized my company he felt that it would be better not giving a proposal to such a spiteful person. I apologize for not getting your bid done on time, but under the circumstances it seems understandable that an employee whom had just lost his father be given some time to grieve. If you feel that your comments should stand in your previous posts then so be it. Under the circumstances I don't think we could have done much differently, given these facts. I stand by my employees judgement on this case. My employee did say that your wife was very courteous to him and he had nothing but nice things to say about her. It doesn't seem that he ever did meet you. Perhaps you could return our calls to you and set up a time to talk about this matter rather than sending out derogatory emails. Sometimes a little face to face talking can clear up matters better then emails. Thanks, Ted Van Midde lll. President, Van Midde & Son.
