We purchase our appliances for a kitchen remodel from Pacific. Sue was excellent--very knowledgeable and helpful with our selection. She did not push the high end products but gave us the pros and cons so that we could make a good decision. Eric helped with our sink and faucet. He was always busy--short staff in that area, but Eric was patient and very helpful. Again not pushing the expensive but providing us good information to make our selection. Our contractor installed these items and everything went very well.
Description of Work: We tried to go into the stores early as they were less crowded and we could talk with their reps. (early morning) Saturdays and evenings are very busy. Sue was very helpful and gave us her full attention. Eric was always busy as he usually was alone but did not cut us short and was very helpful

The fact that this place does any business at all must mean that customers are encountering some sales person other than Baron Long. I went to Pacific Sales to buy a replacement fan for an older two part kitchen ventilation system. That unit had been discontinued and I had to buy a newer model. After installing the component and new duct work I discovered that the electronics were incompatible. This meant buying a new range hood. Returning to the store with this in mind I approached the person who sold it to me, Baron Long, and was met almost immediately with an aggresively defensive attitude. He said it was the manufacturers problem and I should deal with them. What did I expect him to do? I began to say it would be nice to find a solution, but was resigned to the idea of buying a new range hood. He cut me off in mid sentence saying,"That isn't going to happen", I ordered it and if I didn't like it I could return it, but he would charge me a restocking fee. Needless to say I didn't spend my $1400 there. I went to another dealer in San Rafael (Standards of Excellence). When I described my experience to him he guessed the name of the person I dealt with. He said,"He's a real piece of work, but he has brought a lot of business our way". Also the delivery of the first item was later than promised. Avoid at all costs.
Description of Work: Purchased an inline blower for a range hood.

Buyer Beware. My entire experience with Pacific Sales was a nightmare. I went to Pacific Sales on labor day weekend 2011 to purchase a new dishwasher. First, Pacific Sales is owned by Best Buy, and is attempting to be the "upscale" appliance vendor for the chain. And although they advertise big sales, free installation, etc, that doesn't apply to the higher end brands who don't discount. I paid full retail and normal installation costs. I was a bit annoyed that I had to pay installation--that is something they controlled and advertised with big banners outside the store, but I didn't push it. Less than a week later, they delivered the dishwasher and sent the "Geek Squad" to install the dishwasher. Installation cost more than 2x what they said it would cost...due to hard wiring...again, I assumed this was fair. After installation, we realized that we never got the manual. We called and asked for it but were never sent it. And, the dishwasher wouldn't complete a cycle. We called to report it and three days later, the installation person came out. After he left, we ran the dishwasher again...it still did not work and this time leaked onto our hardwood kitchen floor. We called again, the repair person came out in a couple of days and said that he thought there was something wrong with the latch. He needed to order a part that would take 3 weeks to come...best case we would be without a dishwasher for 4 weeks. I started to suspect that he didn't know what he was doing and called the Pacific Sales store manager to express my concern and to request that I could return the unit. He keep promising to call me back but never did...this happened a couple of times. Next, I called Bosch. They indicated that the Geek Squad probably installed it incorrectly and wanted to charge us $125 to send a Bosch technician. After escalating to the manager, they agreed to send someone free of charge. The Bosch person came a week later and said there was a bent piece blocking the door from latching. He removed it and the dishwasher worked fine. He returned a week later to install the bent piece and it still works fine. The Geek Squad repair person's theory was obviously wrong. Since we never got a manual, I began to wonder if they had sold me a floor model (even though we paid full price). They insisted that it wasn't a floor model....and they insisted that we threw out the manual. They took no responsibility for getting us a replacement manual. We spent weeks with aggravating calls back and forth to get a functioning dishwasher after spending $1500. The process took 4 weeks. We still never received the owner's manual. The only reason the problem got resolved is that I went straight to Bosch. During this frustrating time, Pacific Sales store management repeatedly promised to return calls but never did. If you are buying a high end appliance, skip Pacific Sales...you won't save any money. If you get a really good deal on a lower end appliance, you should hope that the appliance works. If there is any problem, don't expect good service. I will never purchase another thing from Pacific Sales.
Description of Work: Purchased a high-end Bosch dishwasher which Pacific Sales delivered and installed. They never got it to work.
