Our house had significant water damage from the heavy rain season so we called a few contractors for assessment and estimates. Dan spent nearly two hours with us, patiently and thoroughly answering all of our questions, providing direct and honest advice, and ultimately helping us decide on our best course of action. He and his experienced team of subcontractors replaced all of our windows and sliding doors, replaced our wood siding with new stucco (including new building paper and plywood sheathing), installed new insulation and drywall, and handled all of the interior painting. Dan was readily available via text or call and was much more than just a project manager. He was extremely hands-on often at the house working side by side with his subcontractors, especially carpentry work for window framing. We are pleased with the end result and highly recommend Morgan Construction to anyone looking for high quality work and a trusted advisor.

We interviewed and got bids from several contractors for the remodel of our primary bathroom. We have had remodeling done before so felt confident in asking the right questions and listening to what the contractor said about how he worked, time, subcontractors, cost etc. Daniel Morgan from Morgan Construction stood out from his knowledge and experience and good communication skills. He didn’t rush when he came over to bid the job and freely brought up some issues he saw that we hadn’t. Daniel was honest, excellent with time management and communication. Everyone he had work on the job he had worked with for many years and all were all great to work with. They all were respectful of being in our house and cleaned up after they finished working everyday. We would definitely hire Morgan Construction again and recommend him without hesitation.

Morgan Construction was one of several contractors that we chose from given a list from our insurance company. We are SO GLAD that we went with Morgan. We really appreciated the types and depth of questions that were asked during the estimate, as well as the multiple options that we were given for our two-room project moving forward. There are several aspects of the project that were handled especially well: 1. Highly communicative. Emails and text messages were communicated with excellent turn around time, addressing all questions and concerns in a prompt manner. 2. The vendor list that was given to us by Morgan Construction featured high quality, well-valued options for bathroom fixtures and tiling. Other, cheaper contractors blankly told us to "go to Home Depot" which was just ridiculous given the lasting investment that we wanted to make. All vendors came through with excellent materials in a reasonable amount of time. We were very pleased with our choices and with the finished result. 3. The quality of sub-contractor work was phenomenal. The bathroom tile installation, electrical work, and plumbing were all done in a very efficient and high quality manner. All subcontractors also cleaned up after their portion of the project in a very thorough and detailed manner - much appreciated. 4. Daniel Morgan, the contractor who came out to do the initial estimate, was present on side for the majority of the project. He kept us updated on the status of repairs at each step of the project, and gave valuable advice on fixtures and installation options. The fact that he was so highly involved in all steps of the project was also greatly appreciated. There was a level of quality and pride in the work done that surpassed even our highest expectations. We give Morgan Construction our highest recommendation and are very grateful that we ended up accepting their bid.

Dan went above and beyond as a Contractor. We were having a great deal of difficulty with our Insurance Agent. We were doing everything he requested but it was never enough OR something we had no idea how to handle (ie, what questions we should ask regarding permits, estimates, and other details we felt the Insurance Agent had surely dealt with in other circumstances but he was putting on our shoulders). From a list of agents, provided by the Insurance company, we fortuitously picked Morgan Construction. He held our hand, he fought on our behalf, he became a voice of reason between ourselves and the Company. He gave us several months of his time which we are eternally grateful for. The work he performed was impeccable.

Once the insurance issue was resolved, Daniel went right to work and coordinated with his subcontractors to get in, do the work and then leave so we could get the project done in a reasonable time. Daniel was always upbeat and addressed issues as they came up. He was easy to work with, reliable and we would use him again if we wanted a quality product for a fair price.
Description of Work: We live in a condominium and there was a leak from above that permeated the walls and the floors. This was an insurance claim and Daniel was able to help us with the insurance company to make sure what should’ve been paid, got paid. It was an entire renovation project because of the initial damage and then we had to pay above the insurance claim to put in items that would make sense when you redo your bathroom.
I was looking for a contractor to remodel my master bathroom. My preference was to find someone local (within 20 miles) that could do the work. Two contractors I interviewed gave me quickie quotes after spending 15 minutes looking at the bathroom. The third quote was from Daniel Morgan owner of Morgan Construction based about 5 miles away. He took the time to prepare a written estimate that matched my budget. After checking reviews on Angie’s List, I decided to go with them. I could not have been more pleased. Working with them was easy even though we ran into a couple of issues once the walls were opened up. When does that ever happen on a remodeling project? Daniel presented alternatives to the original plan that worked out well in the end. I would gladly call them again on any future projects.

Dan was an excellent contractor to work with - professional, communicative, prompt, detail oriented and personable. My wife and I decided to do an extensive kitchen remodel (down to studs, removing a wall, redoing floors, etc.) and very happy we chose Dan to do the work. He kept to the schedule he laid out at the beginning (except for inevitable "found items" during the remodel) and his sub-contractors were all top notch. Dan kept us informed through out the work what was coming next, when it would happen and what we should expect as we lived through the remodel. If/when we do our next project on the house, we will definitely be reaching out to Dan again and have already recommended him to friends and family members.

Dan is extremely professional, highly responsive, and very communicative. He was easily reachable by phone, text, and email throughout the whole process. We were debating between several contractors during the hiring process, and Dan's communication style was why we went with him. He and his subcontractors did great work (our house looks beautiful!). Also, he solved any issues that came up during the project. We had a problem with one of the subcontractor's work (siding), and Dan helped resolve the issue. We were very happy about that because he stood by his work and his sub's work.
Daniel Morgan, an interior decorator/designer, and myself were involved with a bathroom remodel. Daniel worked closely with the decorator to make sure that what was in the plans came to life. His subcontractors all did an excellent job. There were a few unexpected repairs and delays that came up and Daniel handled all of these things with great flexibility. Work progressed at an acceptable speed. All debris and dust was cleaned up. I will definitely ask Daniel to give me a bid on my next project.

The project was to smooth all the old walls and ceiling in about 1/2 of the house to level 5, install new lights, baseboard and crown and paint. Daniel's crew did a great job. The project took a little bit longer, but it was expected, so was not an issue. The crew was very professional and always on time.

Dan and his team are very professional as well as local to the Peninsula. They are well skilled in all trades and provided very clear project details and clarified issues which could impact SCOPE. On-time work and great communication along the path to successful outcomes

Dan came in & after noting the damage, gave me several ways to go. He gave us time to make up our minds & we decided to go with the remodel. Our kitchen was pretty outdated anyway. When we had questions he was right on with one or more answers. His crew was also very professional. It was so exciting when all the pieces came together & produced a bright cheerful kitchen. I still love being in the kitchen doing anything four months later.

Excellent. Morgan was on time and budget, and the owner was a pleasure to work with. He was very responsive and always willing and available to discuss the project and problem solve. Morgan and their subs were great.
Description of Work: Complete master suite remodel
The project suffered delays just like many remodels. But these delays were outside the purview of Morgan Construction. Dan Morgan held up his end of the bargain and went out of his way to communicate and get things done. He is a prime example of "promise less, deliver more". The pricing below does not include things like cabinets, mirrors, tile and some other miscellaneous items.
Description of Work: We had Morgan Construction remodel our living room/dining room/kitchen in 2016. Dan Morgan's portion of that project was $70,000. We were so pleased with him and his subs that we hired him again to remodel our master bathroom and bedroom.

Dan and his guys did excellent work. There were a lot of small pieces to this job. Dan made all of it come together. Many of the contractors showed little interest because it wasn't a massive remodel. Not Dan. He treated it as if it were a whole house remodel. I would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: They installed a new outdoor drain for my kitchen, insulated my garage, and rewired my basement and garage.
This would be my third project with Dan and his crew, and as expected it went well. I'll reiterate what i wrote in my previous review that one of the reasons I like working with Dan and his crew is that they are problem solvers. And with houses the way they are in the bay area, you are bound to find something that needs solving in a constructive way. Another thing is that they are very efficient. There was a lot of structural rot uncovered with this project but they got it back solid in a matter of days. Shout out to Adam who is a cheerful guy and is truly a master carpenter. The sub-contractors that work with Dan are equally skilled and friendly. Dan is easy to reach and we used email, text and phone where appropriate. Just tell Dan exactly what you need and it will be done properly and smoothly pass all city inspections.
Description of Work: Removed an overhanging wooden deck. New construction for a large window to replace the sliding door that previously exited to the deck. New construction to replace two large windows on either side of the sliding door. External - Break down stucco around the windows and deck joists to tie in new stucco and match existing tinted stucco. Uncovered the need for structural re-framing of rotten wooden frame. Reattach affected spotlight, new house numbers and new porch light. Internal - Custom carpentry work to install casing around the 3 new windows; wood staining. Fix affected drywall, texture and paint to match existing wall color. Separate project done in succession was to rebuild a wooden landing on the outside front door porch. Re-attach metal banister. Wood staining and some painting to match. Reattach phone and cable boxes.
Excellent. Very professional. Efforts always made to communicate and anticipate. Subs were professional, helpful, on time. I actually found Morgan Construction on Angies List.

Dan, the owner, oversaw every step of the project. The end result was excellent. Dan was very responsive to my email and text messages throughout the process. He laid out the timeline before the beginning of the project and kept to it. Dan Morgan holds himself and his employees to a high ethical standard. I cannot recommend Morgan Construction highly enough. Hire with confidence.
Description of Work: Morgan Construction resurfaced my ceiling following asbestos removal by another contractor.
The final result was excellent. Dan set our expectations correctly on the duration of the job since it took place around the Christmas and New Years holidays. He was very flexible with us and responded to any questions or concerns promptly. His crew were extremely courteous and careful. Cleanup was outstanding and our home was treated with the utmost respect and care. We were very impressed with the work done by Morgan Construction and Dan's management of the whole job. The result exceeded our expectations and came in slightly under budget. We already have other projects that we are planning (Kitchen remodel, attic insulation, etc.) and we plan to use Morgan Construction. We recommend Dan and his team without hesitation. Thank you for the great work Dan!
Description of Work: Dan's team put up a wall to enclose a room and create a bedroom. They did the framing, electrical (installed outlet, moved a wall switch, installed a hard-wired smoke alarm), drywall, texturing and painting. They installed a new door matching it perfectly to the the adjacent door to a bathroom. The door frame and all baseboards were matched and painted. Dan obtained a permit and arranged for all inspections. There was a challenging requirement for the electrical inspection but Dan was able to work with the inspector to find a solution that prevented him from having to open up additional walls to run new wiring to the electrical panel. In addition to the above, we also had a leak in one of our bathrooms and Dan opened up the wall to located the cause and replaced the baseboard and drywall that had been damaged by the water. He was also able to confirm that no further damage had been done.

Thank you again for considering and hiring me as you contractor. I am really glad I got the opportunity to meet and work for such a great family! I really enjoyed my time working at your home especially discussing things that weren't even work related ( like our kids). I am very, very happy that you are satisfied with the final outcome and I look forward to any upcoming projects that I may be considered for. I couldn't have asked for a better client to work for…….. Thanks again for the work!
I contacted Daniel Morgan through Angie's List and he responded right away. He came out to look at the garage and we went through everything and talked about different options, We minimally wanted the concrete floor repaired or redone and the dilapidated built in cabinets removed and walls finished with drywall., and we wanted to know what the options were for a tankless water heater and adding a sink. I had another contractor out to look and his recommendation was more involved, and would result in complete tear down and rebuild. Though I am sure he was right about some issues if we really wanted to make things perfect and up to today's code it was more than what we needed to make the very old garage functional so we decided not to go that route. I also previously had a friend who is a retired contractor have a look and his recommendations for repairing the concrete were in line with what Morgan recommended. Once we decided to go with Morgan and went back and forth by e-mail about a few of our options and concerns, he sent us a contract with a couple add on options with prices for those so that we could consider them when the time came. Once they started the work Dan was there working or came by to check on the subs every day. The worked very fast and all of the subs were great and very nice and communicative and definitely experts and many seemed to have worked with Morgan for years, it was also nice that they all seemed to be from close by in and around Redwood City. The plumbing for the tankless water heater (installed on the outside wall of the garage- great space saver) was first and they ran into a couple glitches just because of the way the house and garage were structured underneath but they figured out a solution quickly and, though it added some cost because they had to drill through the concrete foundation, they actually still completed it that day. Everything else was very smooth and again I was impressed with all of the sub contractors, all were super nice and hard working. There was a plumber, electrician, concrete, framing, drywall and texture, and painters. We had a couple of change orders because as things got going and looking really nice we decided to really finish the walls and ceiling with texture and paint rather than just leave it at taped drywall. The whole process was very smooth, Dan was easy to work with and we were happy with the final product. We will definitely be contacting Morgan Construction again when we start to plan our next house project.
Description of Work: Garage fix-up and finishing: Demo cabinets, add support framing, replace water heater with tankless water heater outside, add sink, demo and re-pour concrete floor, insulate, drywall and paint ceiling and walls.

[Member Name Removed]- Thanks for sharing your detailed experience working with me. You couldn't have described it any better. You really made this project stress free for both of us as it couldn't have gone any smoother. Any unforeseen issues that did come up were quickly put to ease by you. You really, really helped out in making this project run smoothly. I look forward to working with you again in the near future. Hope you are enjoying your new garage!!!
We spoke with many contractors for estimates before beginning our remodel. Daniel was the most professional and friendly and seemed to understand our needs. He came out to our house several times over the course of a few weeks in order to go through all the details of our remodel and make suggestions for dealing with a few tough situations before any paperwork was even signed. He rewrote our contract at least a half dozen times as we worked out the details, adding a few things to the list, removing others. He also had no problems at all when we decided that we wanted to do the finishing work (carpentry, painting, tiling) ourselves and even offered to build that time window into his work schedule (for instance, after he finished building out the new laundry room, we told him it would take us two weeks to tile, paint it, and finish the trim work, after which he would come back to finish installing the machines). Once work started, he was fast, efficient, and detail-oriented. His workers were here on time every morning and worked through the day. Daniel was available by phone or text message at all times in case any problems arose and the few times we had issues with the work being done he immediately handled the problem without us having to ask twice (for instance, we were unhappy with the finished texture of the drywall in one room. It was fixed by the next day. Overall the work was done over a month ahead of schedule and we paid exactly what was estimated on our initial contract. The work was top notch, and we couldn't be happier with it. No hidden fees, no problems that suddenly arose, nothing to worry about at all, really. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: Extensive remodel. We started by vaulting two bedroom ceilings which involved structural work in the attic as well as cutting the floor to pour new concrete footers to support the new ceiling structure. Electrical work was done to install new can lights and a central hanging lamp in the rooms. Three new skylights were installed. Walls in the living room, bedroom, and hallway were moved to make new closet spaces. We also had our laundry room completely gutted and rebuilt with a new tankless water heater, new plumbing, a new vent for the dryer, and new electrical for the laundry machines.

Thanks for the great review! I am glad to have met such great people and are very pleased to know you choose me over the other contractors you spoke with. I really enjoyed my time working at your home and are happy to know that you truly appreciate the work that was put into your remodel and the effort to keep things running smoothly and moving forward at all times. You guys really were a great help by allowing us to get in there and demolish pretty much half of the house while only leaving you your kitchen and dining room areas. This really allowed us to tackle the entire project at once and gave us the opportunity to finish ahead of schedule. A lot goes into scheduling and keeping the project moving forward and you were a big part of that. All throughout the project you both were very appreciative of how things were looking and moving along. And best of all you are very happy with the finished product!!!! Thanks again for the work and I look forward to working with you again on any upcoming projects.
