Communication before the job was excellent. They showed up on time for the estimate. The only plumber of three who included everything in their estimate. Showed up on time for the job. Communications was excellent. Discussed all issues before proceeding. Did an excellent professional job. Were extremely careful to not make a mess. Wore foot protectors. Put out protective drop cloths everywhere. Cleaned up every spot of dust. The office staff who we talked to were very friendly and helpful.

The quality of the work seems to be fine so far, and the man who came to do it was very professional and did the work without making a mess. He showed up about 1 1/2 hours late, but I realize the schedule for a plumber can be tough to keep in the face of unknowns and the office at least gave me one call to let me know he was running late. Having used Caccia Plumbing 2x now, I have two main gripes - they are significantly more expensive than other plumbers, and they always seem to be upselling you. Regarding price. I had a couple estimates for this work. One from another plumber was for approximately $625, including all the parts. The initial estimate from Caccia was $1300! When I pressed the estimator on this he told me how great their employees are, etc. and also that there is a markup on the pump itself. I then asked if I could just buy the pump from Amazon, since I knew it is sold there, and have them install it, to which he answered yes. Fine, but this also let me know just how much they markup the parts. The quote for an install only, without parts, was $550. I was able to purchase the pump at Amazon for about $220, so in the worst case they were effectively charging me $750 for a $220 part, a markup of over %200. Even if I give them the benefit of doubt and assume that they could have only gotten the part for list price, which is $512 according to Amazon, they were still trying to charge me a nearly 50% markup on the part. I ended up going with Caccia in spite of the higher price because I had used them before and knew that the quality of their work was good. When he came today to do the work I saw the upselling in action. First thing the plumber did was to suggest that we should also get a bypass value installed on the hot-water line above the pump so that if we needed to get it serviced in the future, as he claimed we would, it would be much easier and not require emptying all the water from the plumbing. The suggested cost was $270! First of all, that seems awfully high to install a simple valve in a piece of pipe, and also if it was so important why didn't the guy who came out to do the estimate suggest it then so that I'd have a clearer picture of possible charges. While I could have told him "no, I don't want it" his argument seemed to make sense and I was at an informational disadvantage relative to him, so I assumed his recommendation was sound and had him go ahead. Then, after he finished up he made mention of the big whirlpool tub we have in our master bath and expressed his doubts that our HW heater had the capacity to completely fill it, at least not without using up all the hot water for the rest of the household. He then started offering suggestions for how to address the issue - tankless HW heater, new and larger HW heater, etc. What the h***? I only had him here for a simple job, not to try to sell me on additional future work. I can't help but feel that it's kind of a slimy practice, like something you'd expect to experience at a car dealership - "hey, you should really get that undercoating applied before you leave the showroom". In the end, these two factors (price and the upselling) will likely lead me to not use Caccia again, despite the fact that I think the quality of their work is high. The upselling is also why I gave a "C" for professionalism even though the employee who came today was otherwise quite professional.

The technician arrived promptly and was very courteous. He inspected my water line and found that there was no leak. He then explained to me what he had done and how he arrived at his conclusion. He also explained under what circumstances my insurance would cover expenses for both my water and sewer in case I had future issues.

Angelo from Caccia repaired a gas line leak under our house today. He was very knowledgeable, personable and took the time to explain our plumbing needs as well as other observations about our home. I also appreciated that he explained the entire process of this repair from beginning to end, shared how and why he was conducting pressure tests and provided the results of the pressure test to me. I was surprised to learn we were losing 4 lbs of pressure per minute! Caccia's price was a little higher than another quote I got, but the work was thorough, honest and I can sleep well tonight knowing the leak was repaired same day. Angelo basically treated our home like his own.

Things went very smoothly. We would use them again. Appreciated the fact that they showed up on time and acted very professionally.
Description of Work: We experienced several episodes of clogged toilets which caused us to believe the drain line from our house to the street sewer may be blocked. Called Caccia Plumbing. They were able to give us a next-day appointment. Arrived on time. Very professional. They thoroughly inspected our drainage system including a trap outside our house. They determined that there was no problem other than we needed to hold down the flush lever on our toilets for a longer period of time, given the model of our toilets.

When they started the work, they ran a camera through my broken lines and determined were able to do a spot repair where the clay pipes were broken, vs. repairing the entire line out to the street...It was a much different story than the quote from In & Out Plumbing who insisted I didn't need to run a camera and that I needed to replace the whole line to the street... Anyway, they came on schedule and everything worked perfectly with the exception of the concrete repair - when they no-showed on the Monday it was supposed to happen. I called the office and they were helpful and someone came out two days later to repair the concrete that had been removed. They took care of all the permit work and cleaned up afterward. I was very satisfied with the experience. I couldn't believe the damage to my pipes - they let me see the clog. I was shocked any water drained in my house at all.
Description of Work: My lateral sewer line was broken and shooting water out of the ground on the side of the house. Anthony Caccia came over the day I called and assessed the situation and followed up with a detailed estimate to run a camera through the pipes, remove the concrete, repair the damaged area, and replace the concrete. He also knew about the city program for lateral sewer line replacement, but unfortunately it was put on hold starting January 31...of course my pipes broke on February 3.

I was beginning a remodel of our downstairs bathroom and needed to make sure the upstairs bathroom worked properly. I installed a temporary shower but the drain was extremely slow. Made a few attempts to clear it myself without sucess. I feared that the 70 year old drain plumbing would need to be replaced or repaired. I called Caccia because of a referral from a contractor friend of mine. The fellow who showed up, on time Imight add, was Vito. He assesed the situation and brought out his drain machine and after a few attempts, cleared the drain. He told me that sometimes when the P trap dries out, the debris left there hardens and then when wet again may move an cause a plug in the line. Very professional, polite and knowledgeable. They are not cheap, but you get what you pay for! I'd use them again.

The Caccia staff who came to our house were professional, courteous and informative. Their pricing is higher than others but we appreciate their knowledge and performance.
Description of Work: We were very pleased to work with James Caccia Plumbing. They were thorough, knowledgeable and professional. They helped us with issues that other plumbers wrote off to other alleged issues. The hot water was not working well in our shower and the water pressure had grown weak over time. The previous plumber diagnosed the problem as sediment in our system. Caccia Plumbing knew what it was upon inspection -- and there was no sediment issue. It turned out to be be a cartridge that needed to be replaced. Caccia not only cleared up the issues but had an actual informed opinion about what the true issue was. What a relief to be working with professionals who get it right the first time and not waste our time or money. We had Caccia come out again to replace an indoor sump pump and diagnose water output/intake issues. Again, they knew exactly what to do and corrected the issue right then.

I was unable to remove one old faucet set due to a frozen nut, so I called James Caccia based on Angie's List rating. Plumber arrived, inspected, and gave me an estimate for the frozen faucet set replacement. He successfully removed the first and installed the new one. Fearing I would have the same problem on the dual vanity sink with the other set, I had him do that, at the same price. The price seemed very high for the amount of work, but I was selling the house and didn't want to try another service provider who might take several days to come over.

Plumber was on time and performed a fine job. Prices are quoted by the job, so it is theoretically good to know what one will pay ahead of time. However, in this case, there was a hard upsell: "we _strongly_ recommend that you also replace the P trap at the same time" - why? - "it looks old and it is probably going to leak if you don't replace it". Well, how much does that cost? "oh, another xxx" (...don't remember exactly, something like $60, for a $10 part and un- and re-screwing one more nut). One would think that if they "strongly recommend this" every time for a garbage disposal replacement, it should perhaps be mentioned and/ or included in the flat rate quote. We chose not to replace the P trap - it looked fine, and there has not been a problem with it in 11 months.

Technician explained the problem and the diffferent types of faucets available. He then was able to remove the old faucet and install a new one and was out of the house within 45 minutes. Technician respected our household and wore booties when entering the house. He cleaned the work area and left it better then when he arrived. Defintely will use them again for future plumbing problems.
Description of Work: Kitchen faucet was not working properly and had become loose from the counter top. Technician explained that calcium from the water had runied the seals. This caused the faucet to loosen the nut attaching the faucet. Caccia was originally scheduled for an afternoon appointment, but had a cancillation and were able to reschudeule the appointment for an earlier time.

I had Caccia install a new kitchen faucet last year. I should have listened better from the start because I bought my own from a hardware depot, thinking I would have better selection. They told me it was cheap and they could not offer a warranty. Sure enough it broke down in a few months. They showed me the line they carry and the difference was clear; it was nice design and clearly higher quality metal parts. They installed it and it worked fine for a year. But then stated to spin a little. I called Caccia and they sent Ross out quickly. He spent about 2 hours of heavy effort reinstalling the faucet and adding a new attachment that would secure it better. He explained his challenges, what he was doing, and how he had fixed it. Caccia covered it under warranty. Even if they are on the high end of pricing, they offer quality, have great people, and stand by their work.

I called Caccia Plumbing on Monday afternoon and they scheduled me for the next day. They gave me a one hour window of when the plumber would arrive. Which i love, because most service companies give me a 3 hour window, which kills 1/2 of my day. A clean (emphasis on the word clean) plumber (Joseph) arrived, punctual and prepared. I took him into my kitchen and bathroom- pointed out the broken garbage disposal and clogged bathroom sink. Joseph inspected the garbage disposal and diagnosed the problem. He suggested that I replace it with a new one- I agreed since I hadn't replaced it for over 9 years. Joseph installed the new one, did a few quality control steps and made sure I was happy with my new disposal before he went into my bathroom to work on the sink. In the bathroom, he unclogged the sink within 20 minutes and asked me to turn the sink on and off- to make sure I was satisfied with his workmanship. Joseph said he had over 30 mins before his next appointment and asked if he could conduct an overall home inspection of my plumbing. During his inspection, he pointed out 3 things:1. my water heater was over 16 years old and that the average water heater lasts less than 12. He just told me to be aware of that fact and suggested that I research the benefits of tankless water heaters. He explained how it conserves energy, and that you never run out of hot water with a tankless.2. There was a steady drip coming from a hose bib- in my backyard. He fixed it for me- thank you!3. He checked the water pressure on the house- said it was high. suggested I install a pressure reducing valve. it would help preserve the plumbing in the house. Since Caccia Plumbing was here- I have researched tankless water heaters and when this one goes, I will probably invest in a tankless. Moreover, I had a great experience with Caccia Plumbing. They have been my family's plumber for over 20 years. They're local, honest, reasonably priced and always perform excellent- high quality service.
Description of Work: Caccia Plumbing came to the rescue, as they always do, for all my plumbing needs. They performed 4 tasks1. Installed new garbage disposal2. Unclogged bathroom sink3. Performed 50 point (or more) inspection around my house4. Gave me recommendations on what to look out for and suggestions for maintaining a healthy home Garbage disposal- broken. they tried to fix without replacing to save me on costs, but wasn't able to salvage it. it was over 9 years old... so it was due time for a replacement. I went with an in-sinkerator, professional grade. that is warrantied because i bought it from a licensed plumber Bathroom sink- they have unclogged this same drain a couple years back. it's an inevitable problem because there are three people living here and only one bathroom sink... (sigh) 50+ point inspection- they always do this when they visit my home, so they can give me a heads up on what problems I may run into. what is looking worn down... etc. Joseph, the plumber that came to my house did a great job.

I had used Caccia plumbing for my father's house in Woodside before and was ok with them so called them for an estimate regarding a broken sewer line at my house in Woodside. I already had 2 bids and wanted a third since the job would be expensive. When I spoke to the receptionist I was very clear that I already knew the problem, the first company after trying to flush the blockage, performed a video and saw that roots had broken through the pipe. Since the flush wasn't successful and indicated another problem, they did not charge me for the camera work and left me with a CD showing the blockage and the number of feet it was from the clean out. The next company I called came and videoed the problem so they could give an accurate estimate at no charge so when I called Caccia I was very clear that I didn't want to pay for the video since I knew what the problem was but that I thought they would most likely need to take a video so they could give an accurate estimate. I was told that their expert Moe wasn't available for about a week so agreed to wait and scheduled the appointment. On the day of the appointment, Moe didn't come, they sent someone else instead and also wanted to charge for the video. I declined. Why would I want to pay $295 (which, by the way, was $100.00 more than another company said they charge for a video) when I already knew what the problem was? And of course they can't give an estimate without doing their own video so Caccia just lost a several thousand dollar job and a client. I will not use them again, for my father's house or mine.
