The city identified my new property as having an inactive well. So, I called Dan Lynch the owner of Ash and Son. Dan is a rural soul. His foray into the city was quick and easy. After communicating with Dan and sending pictures of the job site, he was able to start permits with the city and begin work as if he had a direct line into the county water district office. The job was pricey, but done with quality and commitment to my needs; as I am planning ahead for a large landscaping project and needed the well to be clean and to code. I still have not heard from the city on the inspection and promise that there is no other required work to be done. It seems to me, due to the importance of keeping ground water safe and Federal laws in play; that the world of urban wells is precoscious. Dan completed the job in two days and the well is up and running.
Description of Work: Large truck was used to pull old pump. Electrical was run through conduit and layed below ground to a box near well site. Necessary pipe and pump were installed and connected to electrical. The final doozy was a large tank standing on a fiberglass base next to well. The well was sealed to code with a four foot concrete pad that sloped for water run-off. Big and ugly but does the job. Well is used for property irrigation, not for human consumption. I still need to have water quality tests run. No noticeable sediment running through pump. Water is clear.
