I broke a 3 1/4 “ x 5” spherical globe on a light fixture. I found one displayed on lampsclinic.com, but since all the photos for globes on their website used the same photo for a multitude of different sizes, I wrote to make sure the item I wanted to order did indeed have a 3 ¼” opening. They assured me that it did, so I ordered it. When it arrived, the opening was only 3” and of course it was too small to fit securely in the 3 ¼” opening. I wrote back and they insisted that since the globe opening was smaller than the fixture, it had to fit. I was told that if I wasn’t happy with it, I could send it back for a possible refund after paying return postage and a 15-20% restocking fee. Had I ordered incorrectly, this might be a solution. But since they assured me it would fit, I don’t see why I should not get a full refund, including postage and their exorbitant shipping and handling charge. I suggested this in an email and never heard back until I wrote again. Still they refused. I decided to try one last time to speak with a customer service manager. I finally found a phone number for the company, but when I called, I was told that I was speaking to the retail store branch and since it was an online order, he could not help me. And despite being the same company, he told me there was no way to contact the online branch by phone. Extremely poor customer service.

I used to be a regular customer for about 10 years and had always had a good experience with them, up until this last time. I came to pick up the lamps in timely manner, but they had the wrong bases on them, so I needed to come back. I was out of the country for a while, so it was some time before I was able to come back. When I came to pick up the lamps, the person I dealt with was a sort of shark of a business man and charged me a $200 storage fee for the lamps. When the brothers were in charge, they were all about the relationships, but not this young man. They have always been overpriced, but I dealt with that because they did good work and nearby. Now I will not use them again, and I regret it because they used to be good.
Description of Work: I took in 2 lamps for them to repair.

Pricey but good. The shop is great. They have every bulb, finial, and replacement crystal you could ever imagine.
Description of Work: Rewired and installed new hardware on two antique lamps -- work included straightening the neck of an antique floor lamp. Also bought replacement crystals and several hard to find speciality bulbs. The work was about $100.00.

Unfriendly, overpriced. I went in to have a lamp repaired. Before he even asked what I needed, I was made to sign a form for charges if my item was left beyond 30 days, and the proprietor began grumbling about how I would be one to leave my item and incur charges. After I signed the form, he said it would cost $42.50 to repair my lamp. I took it down the street to a hardware store, and the nice man charged me $5.00 to install a new socket.
Description of Work: I went in to have services performed, but found it too overpriced.

Lamps Clinic did a fantastic job of rewiring three lamps for me. If you need a lamp or light fixture repaired, this is definitely the place to go. This store is owned and operated by two brothers who provide friendly, personalized, professional service. They also have a great selection of new lamps and shades. Greg was very helpful in helping us choose the right shades for two of our lamps. He has a great eye for proportion and style in fitting a lamp with the right shade.
Description of Work: Rewiring of small accent lamp with an in-line dimmer. Rewiring and new 3-way sockets for two table lamps. Purchase of two new lampshades.
