System Pavers

My first contact with System Pavers was at the Denver Home and Garden show this year (2016). I received a brief explanation of HOW they install the pavers. I was also told about the warranty; 25 years on the installation and lifetime on the pavers (they make them). After talking with other vendors, I knew this was a great warranty. Doug, our salesperson came to the house the next week and showed us a video and samples. He answered all our questions. Measured out the patio and some other things I wanted to do in the future. Drew up a rough layout and gave us the price. The price is a little more than I expected, but with the warranty, I know I will not need to have this redone anytime soon. I scheduled the project and was lucky to get it started the next week. The workers were very nice and professional. Doug and our foreperson Matt were always readily available and stopped by the project several times to see how it was progressing. I was able to watch some of the installation and was impressed with the procedure. In a week my 15 x 30 patio was finished! They moved two sprinklers and cleaned everything up completely! I absolutely love the finished patio and would absolutely recommend them to anyone!

Gio, the rep came out and measured our yard and drew up a sketch which took about a half hour and then went over the process of removing our old yard laying down a screen, pavers and sand and showed us pictures in a catalog of the stones and style he was envisioning in our yard. Then came the sell, today only special, in our case veterans day, I've read it is a common pitch with System Pavers, but it is real. We bit and signed the contract that night. We then decide to extend it another 20 feet more than originally planned, so that up charge was on us. But on the crew leader came out to inspect the yard before beginning and he discovered our retaining wall was not deep enough so they would have to add a sitting wall in front of the retaining wall, , a couple grand more, but there was no going back at this point, so we gulped hard and signed the change order, onward we went. The crew leader came out the first day but was hardly seen again until it was done, I did speak to him on the phone a couple times. It worked out fine the crew was great, showed up early, worked hard all day then cleaned up our yard, and got it done fairly quickly, plus they did a great job. The yard is so much bigger now, so it seems but not having three uneven surfaces but rather just one... one really nice one just makes it seem so much bigger, it is more usable space. All in all System Pavers is not the inexpensive route, but they have a 20 year guarantee which is nice piece of mind, they do top notch work and they come when say they are and get it done quickly. I believe you get what you pay for, and System Pavers delivers.

The young man who gave us the estimate and the final deal was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. They gave us a firm date to start the work. They called us about one week before to ask permission to slightly delay the start and we had no problem with that. On the agreed upon date, a crew showed up on time on the day they said. Working together the crew removed all the grass in about an hour. There was a full time Supervisor and the Project Manager stopped by several times during the day. They finished the complete job in two days, cleaned up well after everything was done. We had one small problem which they addressed immediately. A mix of different shades of brick were used and the patterns they made are great. They offered to "seal" the bricks with a material that would make it "shinier". We turned this down. Our only disappointment is perhaps related to this. The coloring of the bricks fade in the bright sunlight. I am not sure if the sealant would have prevented this or not. Obviously the color does not completely fade, but it is noticeable.

We started off with a consultation that was very thorough. No rendering was provided. This might have been helpful to envision the overall finished product. After our consultation, we were provided a general manager/contractor. Work started shortly thereafter, and the initial demolition and installation was extraordinarily fast! The quality of work and install was first rate! They do a phenomenal job. It is absolutely a pleasure to show our yard to neighbors and friends. The functionality and transformation from what used to be a largely unusable dirt yard is a welcome relief. The artificial turf is a nice alternative and change from the yard that is primarily hard-scaped. 80-90% of the job was completed within the first week and a half. It was the minor details and finishing touches that took over a month to complete. We were needing to have the pavers sealed, the steps to the second level completed, and patchwork completed on the retaining wall. There were multiple appointments made that were never kept, there were times that were missed, and there were days we were expecting the work to be completed and no one would show up. Calls were made and texts were left to no avail. Eventually calls were made to management to intervene and finally the last items were addressed. Aside from these inconveniences and missed opportunities for transparent and prompt communication, we are very pleased with the work and the overall cost. Their expertise and experience are very evident in the quality of the work. It seems like the paver system was always part of the original design of our home. They know exactly what you are looking for and then they improve upon what you have described. I would be happy to use System Pavers again in the near future and would recommend them for you to use them for your landscaping, paving, artificial turf, and outdoor design. I am certain, in the end, you will be happy with the work and the investment.

Very professional and fixed the cracks after 1 year on one call

Wonderful to work with Ronnie and his team. The paver driveway and pathways turned out far better than I ever imagined. All the men who worked on the project were here very promptly in the morning. Ronnie replied very quickly to any concerns I had and was always willing to accommodate my schedule. They finished the work in less time than anticipated. Ronnie has a wonderful eye for design and was able to convert my ideas to exactly what I had in mind. I am VERY happy with the outcome of their work and would (and have) recommended them to everyone who has asked me. I have received numerous compliments on the hardscape at my home from my family, guests and the neighbors. Strongly recommend North County Pavers to anyone!

The paving and artificial turf look great and were done very well. Rafael and his crew are the hardest working guy you could want. Overall the finished project looks great! I would definatly recommend them to anyone. We are very satisfied with the finished job, Our new front yard looks great!

The original interaction exceeded our expectations with the sales representative. We were assured we were to be taken care of as we have worked with previous contractors that were not above board. We were quoted a price which was very expensive, but interest free financing was available for 18 months. We did not know the contract was sub-contacted out to another company. We choose system pavers although more expensive they offered the interest free financing and a superb paver we were unable to get through other paving companies. The initial demo went very fast. The retaining wall went in very quickly as well, however the grout between the caps has already stared to deteriorate and chip just over a two years. There were many shortcuts preformed we asked them to burry a low voltage line under the pavers and retaining wall, which was not done. We needed up having our gardener dig under the foundation and pavers, which was very labor intensive and costly after the installation. The design that was originally provided was not the one that was given to the sub. We asked for a circle of pavers to go around palms we had on each side of the drive way. Only one was done properly. The project manager acted very irritated about this. They also paved our current entry way to our front door, which made the front step extremely odd taller than the other steps, but we were told nothing could be done about this, as the pavers were already installed. The everescence that was supposed to naturally occurs was really bad and continues to be a concern. We were told that it was due to a tile project that we were concurrently doing, which was not possible as the water did not run on the pavers. The pavers also were very uneven creating many catch points, although tampered down. We were told that if they ran a pressure shaker over pavers we would end up possible cracking them. This is usually the cause of uneven preparation. The SP team became almost unreachable during the end of the project and were frustrated because we noted many areas of patchy work that needed to be pulled up and redone. The delivery of the pavers were also delayed over two weeks late, which further pushed there schedule out, which put more pressure on the project manager, which caused them to respond less to our concerns. After the project was done we asked for our full refund and the pavers to be taken away. They sent out there manager of the local SP office to talk about our concerns. They said that they would seal the pavers, fix the circles around the palms to our specifications, and try and fix the stairs. After trying to deal with the aftermath of this project, while my wife was pregnant with twins we just decided to just settle with them and have nothing more to do with them. I have full details of our interactions and a recording of my final conversation with there branch manager, which he was very uncomfortable about. It was not until I asked to record the conversation they decided to work with us. After 3 months post the project we found out that during the demolition they ripped up our plumbing clean out with the subcontractor bobcat, which cost us a considerable amount of money to dry out the underneath of our crawl space and have a new cleanout installed. If I would have known that the project was subbed out I could have saved a tremendous amount of money. I went with SP due to there repartition and quick talking salesman. I would not recommend anyone to go through what my family had to go through. If additional information was needed aside from these highlights of the project I can provide them if a rebuttal from the company states otherwise. Ensure you have multiple bids from other companies that are not as corporate as SP. For $17000 we were very disappointed with the end result and all the headaches we still have to deal with the project. Interim review pending resolution: After posting this review I immediately received a call from the local System Pavers Manger Robert to address my concerns. I brought up my concerns from this review as well as additional concerns I had no mentioned.Robert came out to my house on 4/22/2015 and I walked him through my issues with the original project managers and installation. He was very kind and seemed empathetic. He stated he would go back to the office and review my file and organize the repairs immediately, with a follow up on 4/24/2015. I will write a final review pending the final resolution.

We are very satisfied with the work System Pavers has done for us. We changed our mind a couple of times in the beginning and right after every time we were offered a solution that matched our wish. The work was initiated on time and finished on time and as promised. This was despite an unexpected issue with our plumbing system during the course of the work which System Pavers crew resolved professionally! The whole crew were very professional and courteous. We have another landscaping project down the line for which we sure will use System Pavers again.

System Pavers confirmed my appointment with their salesperson Senaz four times. They wanted to make sure I would be home and would give them the full time needed for determining the choice of stone and estimated price. When Senaz came she was not prepared, and it took much longer to determine the scope of the project then originally promised. She did not know how to use the laptop computer to spec out the job like described in other reviews and she told me she needed to have an engineer come out to determine the structural approach for the 12' X 15" patio. It has been 8 weeks, I have called twice and emailed and have heard nothing. I suspect the project was too small for their company, but will never know. Considering how much they wanted me to value their time originally, you would have thought they would have valued my time for this project as well.

We got as far as the evaluation process and measuring. Steve ( there are two in this company) came to the house and was personable and friendly. He knows his product and had good ideas. Steve measured our areas of need and then we talked about what hard scape was available. I was able to look at a computer program of products and services offered through their company and that was interesting with good ideas. The time came for the "sale", In order to be given the price quoted, I needed to give a down payment. I was willing to give the down payment, but I was very clear that I was approved for the HERO loan and wanted to make sure that they were a HERO provider. Phone calls were made and their sister company is a part of the HERO program and therefore, it was thought that it would be no problem for the Carlsbad store to be HERO approved. On my contract and on my deposit check I wrote that this could only move forward contingent on them becoming HERO approved. Signatures were made by Steve and myself regarding this detail. I was assured that I had 3 business days to decline the "deal". On the third business day, I called the HERO program and was told system pavers (SP) carlsbad were not an approved provider yet, so, I called SP company and left a message that it was the third day and if I didn't hear that they were HERO approved, that we could not move forward with the project until they were approved. I also called Steve and left him the same message. There had been emails between us and the company during the three day period defining details etc and all was moving along but on that third day, I couldn't seem to get a hold of anyone. Lo and behold my deposit check was cashed 2 days later while I was on vacation. Kevin was very frustrated with this and did email with this emotion expressed with capital letters and some exclamation points. When I got home, I called the company and left a message that we would need to be reimbursed as the contingency that was written on the check and the contract was not met. I was called by SP the next day and was told it would take 24 hours for $$ to come to us in check form. We were reimbursed in full. I did explain that we would be happy to work with them if they could keep us informed of HERO status, I have not heard from them since then. I realize it was a timing issue but it would have been better to have had a conversation of HERO progress, and an expected time frame. I believe they have a great product and would have used them but with out conversation, agreement can not be reached. We continue to interview for HERO providers from the HERO website now.

Update:- Updating my old review. Their Regional Manager(forgot her name) , personally called me and got things resolved. She sent the branch manager(Steve) to my home , who took the measurement and entertained the old price which was offered to me first day. In terms of job and work , i think they are the best. Really impressed with the work they have done.One side had some issues where they cut pavers , which didnt look good after they put. But they fixed that next day without any issues.Really Professional and good at their job and really happy with the quality of work Moreover they provided 25 years warranty. Strongly recommend them. Old:- would stay away from System Pavers. They are full of attitude and its just a sales pitch. started from doubled the price and came to half(which is market price) to create a hype.They offer the price and want you to make decision on the spot. Otherwise they dont entertain that price. we call them later and they are not ready to give price.we are texting them and they are not replying for 24 hours + .everytime different terms and conditions

Installation crew was not too bright and needed oversight to make sure installation was done correctly. crew caused damage to redwood deck that they eventually repaired. Crew had to come back to repair sprinkler system that was not properly capped. Supervision of the crew poor.

I didn't want pavers at all, but my husband did and I was tired of arguing about the back and side yard and just wanted it done! It all worked out great! We didn't feel overly pressured by Steve when he came for the initial visit. His understanding of what could be done on our particular property was a bit different than what the installers were actually capable of and there were some miss communications between the two about design. BUT... everyone was SUPER responsive, available by text, phone, etc. Our project manager, Matt, really seemed to care about the project and our satisfaction. The laborers were excellent. They were prompt, very efficient, and always left a clean area. There were a few unexpected costs, but I am so happy with the quality of work and level of care demonstrated by the whole team that it was well worth it. Thanks guys!!!

My neighbors and everyone else always tell me how great it looks. They hit a sprinkler line while they were doing the work but repaired it. They fixed any damage that occurred. Very clean. They asked me what I wanted to do with the old brick and they offered to move it to the back yard so I could use it for another project. Very honest people to work with.

The installation team is extremely good. They do have paperwork issues like any company but the actual work performed was phenomenal. It is an incredible and is phenomenal for curb appeal. It is like art.

Smooth sales process. We got a clear understanding of the job and had a visit prior to the job from the salesman (Dan?) and the project manager. On the whole the job went very well - they do really good work and we love the results. The job took a little longer than planned I think - 1 extra day when they aimed to be done in 2, but that wasn't an issue. They work to ensure that the customer is very happy with the end result and this caused them some extra work on two things - one minor and one major: The minor: the guys were disposing of some earth (they'd removed to lay pavers) at the back of our yard. Along with the earth they left some cut pavers and some concrete in the piles. Not very professional and I had to ask to get that cleaned up. The major: One area was the continuation of an existing two-tone "pattern." The guys laid the pavers the first time and to me it looked nothing like the existing "pattern" and I asked them to replace the pavers to better match what was there. They did some and it WAS better. However they finished the job - edged the area and set the pavers in tight - before I had a chance to inspect. It was still not good enough for me. Though to this day the project manager insists the layout is random (in terms of the color mix of the stones) I'm convinced it's not totally random, because there are clear loop patterns, although it's impossible to figure out what the repeating unit of the pattern is! Anyway I had to insist that they come back and replace several of the pavers of one color for the other. The project manager did (really good, nice guy - sorry forget his name - it was last September), though he had to drill and hammer the pavers out - not easy - to replace the ones I identified. This process was a hassle for me and especially him, but the end result is really good. Also they forgot to remind us to clear away everything (furniture, plants, BBQ etc.) near the house where they were laying one area. When they cut the edge pavers to fit, the fine dust covered EVERYTHING. I should really have thought about it, but they should know to tell people on the day. I had to hose everything down to clean it. But overall - looking back - we do love the results!!

It looks like it’s always been there; it’s just beautiful. Their work is nothing but outstanding but they did order too many paving bricks and we have 300-400 bricks left over.

It was an excellent experience. I was very pleased and found their prices to be reasonable.

Great! They were very easy to work with. Very responsive and quick. We were shocked that they were able to complete the entire job in only 2.5 days.

Everything was done on time and the quality was excellent.
