Shadowcrest Roofing, Inc.

Roofing, Gutters, Skylights,

About us

With over 40 years of experience, we are often the roofing contractor of choice for home owners and business owners throughout southern California. Your roof is one of the most important components of your home. When the roof has a problem, it must be dealt with as soon as possible. Any delay can mean a bigger problem over time, and may turn what would have been a relatively low-cost repair into a much larger expense. When you hire a roofing contractor, whether it is for your home or for your business, you want to be sure you are working with a professional. Unfortunately, it is too common for someone with a pickup truck and a ladder to announce that he is now in the roofing business. The price quoted may seem attractive, but the headaches from shoddy workmanship and poor business practices will usually cost you more in the long run. We are at the other end of the spectrum. We offer the absolute best quality craftsmanship, and we get your roofing project done right the first time. We want the finished result to be something that you – and we – can be proud of. Excellent quotation process - provided extra quality features for less cost. They suggested the local skylight manufacturer and I purchased the best possible material directly, and got a 'crank-openand quot; skylight in the process. Very professional company and staff providing excellent communications ! Time ran over by a couple of days - due to extra improvements added ( I was consulted and well informed) Our roof is exposed to multiple golf-ball strikes, which caused the original roof to deteriorate prematurely. Shadowcrest recommended many improvements that created a finished tile installation impervious to future impingement damage. We virtually built a standard asphalt roof under the tile layment - they also suggested and provided 100 extra square feet of tile for future repairs. Their foreman inspects the installation yearly and has replaced a few pieces. Their on-site crew coordinated sheeting R and R to facilitate blowing in insulation (by Banker Insulation - not recommended). During the job some minor water ingress was uncovered and those areas rebuilt, reinforced and treated with newly introduced chemical protectants ... Overall we have a 100-year, bullet-proof, tile roof with everything done properly. I have and will recommend Shadowcrest Roofing to all my friends and neighbors. My next door neighbor originally gave me the phone to contact Shadowcrest - he contracted them prior to my new roofing job.
Description of Work: R & R roof sheeting and fascia boards for 2400 sq ft house. Installed all new extra durable sub-roof and energy efficient tile over. Rebuilt 3 skylight boxes and installed all-new state-of-art Lexan skylights. Coordinated new "blown-in" insulation throughout. Rebuilt and sealed 2nd story flat roof section and other horizontal stucco areas for water proofing.

Went with a different company.
Description of Work: Estimate only, It was a thorough, nicely prepared written estimate, but it was by far the highest, 70-80% above others. And a strong push for doing a complete re-roof vs. just repairs, which would have added over $6K to the cost. No thanks!

Response from Shadowcrest Roofing, Inc.
This gentleman did not want to here that the roof should be replaced. I think others were telling him what he wanted to hear to get the sale. We see so many of these that are not handled properly and they have recurring problems.

bent over backwards to protect our investment. The crew was fantastic, led by Bryan. Mike Brito made many trips daily to check on the progress and ensure all work was done properly. Mike noticed that we had wires and cables running under the eaves all around the house. He told us that he knew of a company that could bring all the wires/cables brought inside, using a single media panel. Now each room is wired for phone, cable, directv and computer (cat6). Bennie and Devon were also very responsive to our needs. We couldn't be happier with the final product. It may sound like a lot of money for a roof, but one should keep in mind that we had new plywood installed, and gutters that are of the highest quality. Our roof also has a lot of valleys to deal with. Now our attic is well ventilated too. I would highly recommend Shadowcrest Roofing to all.
Description of Work: I first met the owner, Mike Brito, at a home show at the San Diego Convention Center two years ago. He really impressed my wife and I with his thourough knowledge of roofing. We had certain criteria that needed to be met before we considered a roofing company. The company must use its' own employees (rather than independent contractors), must carry sufficient insurance (bonded) and also carry workmen's comp for its' employees. I was aware that Shadowcrest had a significant amount of customers in Rancho Santa Fe and Coronado. Because of this, we assumed that Shadowcrest would come in very high among all the bids which we solicited. Everyone who bid met our required criteria. The others who bid were also top notch. Mike Brito (Shadowcrest) came in as the lowest bidder. The next closest bid was $5,000 higher. We were very specific with those who bid, in that we made sure that each were bidding on the same materials. We recently had our heating/AC duct work and insulation done several months earlier. The roof that we were replacing actually consisted of asphalt shingles over shake (wooden) shingles. There was no sheeting underneath., Our home was completely open to the elements briefly. We expressed our concern about protecting our new insulation and duct work from falling debris. The crew
