+ -1 moreThey were accommodating and anxious for my business. They were prompt to the appointment and honest about the work to be done. He said that what I wanted done would take longer than a full week. I offered an alternate job and he looked at it. He looked around and said he would email me a bid, but I never heard from him. I think they just became busy with the Big Deal work, but I was happy with their professionalism.

+ 0 morePanjia is amazing. We could not be happier with our new backyard! Steve and Mike came out for our consultation and brought tons of photos/examples for us to see. They offered opinions when asked, but never seemed to push in any one direction. Their personalities were just a good fit with ours and they understood and listened to our vision. The bid came back within a day or two and was competitive with the other three bids we had. We decided to go with Panjia based on other Angie's List reviews, the price, and the general feel we got from Steve and Mike. They were able to assist with obtaining our HOA approval by providing plans for us to submit and started work within about 10 days from our approval. When I was being flaky about choosing the paver color, Steve offered to meet us at the supply store to help us make a selection. Talk about patience and customer service! The approx two week project went smoothly....the guys were all polite and very hard working. Steve was great about checking in with us to make sure we were happy with the process. The initial quote was what we ended up paying for...no last minute add ons. I don't think I would change a thing!

Description of Work: Designed new landscaping for back yard; removed all existing structures, bushes, tree roots, broken sprinklers, etc in yard; brought in top soil and replacement sprinkler parts; planted entire new lawn and various new plants throughout yard.

+ -1 moreThe job is now finished and looks great! Before, I had a grey concrete walkway and porch, but Steve and his crew did a fantasitc job to greatly increase the appearance with stone pavers. Before the start of the job, Steve came by with photos and sample stones to let me choose the stones for my area and to make sure I got what I wanted. His crew started on the job Friday morning, worked hard until the end of the day and were back at it early the next morning. They were completely done at the end of the second day. All of Panjia's workers worked very hard and were very serious and expdeditious about what they were doing. Steve followed up with me throughout the process to make sure I was happy. And I could not be happier with the outcome. It looks fantastic! Toward the end of the second day, Steve made sure everyone spent the time to go the extra mile to clean up everything from the job. This included cleaning the public street. I could not be happier and would reommend Panjia, Inc. to anyone who is interested in getting a good job! In fact, I am considering increasing my front porch area by eliminating a larger planter area adjacent to the work just completed.

The owner is good with emailing, and communications and worked with me to schedule my jobs as I live in NY, but the rental house is in San Diego. I require good communications so I was very pleased with them. In addition, they were neat, tidy, and helpful in a number of small but important ways. They checked back on their job to make sure the lawn was taking, and they helped with another unrelated irrigation problem that I had. So all in all, I was very pleased.
Description of Work: Panjia provided assistance with the design elements for a backyard project, giving me options, ideas, and advice. Once I had a better perspective, then we went ahead putting in a sprinkler system, prepping the area, and laying down a lawn. In addition, Panjia helped to demo a pre-existing concrete yard, and preparing the area for plantings. Later this summer I will hire them again to do the plantings.

Description of Work: Mr. Young did an outstanding job in my yard. He was easy to work with around my schedule, which was not an easy task. + -1 moreI cantacted the company in November with not a great idea of what I wanted accomplished. They came out and gave me some ideas. I decided on having them put a parking place in the front of the house where there is a small rise and a prblem with keeping ground cover growing and cleaned out. Since I was in no rush, they said they would contact me later on. When I didn't hear from them for quite a while, I called them and they got the job done in only a couple of days. Apparently, they had e-mailed me, but I either did not get the e-mail or it was lost amongst all the other e-mail. That was the only negative in the experience. I felt they should have tried to contact me again when they had not had a reply from the e-mail. e-mail is not always reliable. The work they did was great!
Description of Work: Excavated an area for a paeking spot and put in a retaining wall around it.

Steve gave me an estimate and made multiple visits to my home to discuss job, along with emails and telephone calls, all in an effort to ensure everything went smoothly and I was satisfied in end. Description of Work: Steve and Mike provided us a flexible, drought tolerant landscape design for our backyard. They turned a weed infested dirt lot into paradise. We now have a huge paver patio and walkway, dry river rock bed, trees, grasses, and plantings. In little more than 10 days their crew completely overhauled and graded the yard, put in irrigation, and ran drainage. Their work exceeded our expectations. We will be using them again soon.

He gave us some advice on some things we wanted to have done. He is extremely talented and we are in the process of doing the landscape work. I cannot speak highly enough of the owner and his brother.

+ -1 moreWe could not be more pleased with the way our backyard has turned out. It looks like it could be in a magazine it is so beautiful. Steve, his brother Mike and Pepe and the crew are amazing. On time, hard working and very professional. From start to finish I have no complaints - not one - and I am very picky. A+++++ is what my husband had to say and my Dad is in construction and a perfectionist and thought very highly of Steve and Mike and Pepe and the wonderful crew. We had trouble with our air conditioners and Steve knew HVAC people and sure enough it was taken care of. Our builder couldn't even get that done in a timely manner. The pavers are set perfectly and everything was done so precisely. If you need some landscaping done CALL PANJIA - that's all I can say. You will not be disappointed.
Description of Work: New construction - our yard was just dirt and weeds. Steve came out for the initial meeting very well prepared. He had photos of previous jobs he had done on his iPad and they were amazing. He had brochures for all the pavers and stone for the retaining wall. Along with some recommendations and some really great ideas. (which that alone was better that I had with previous landscapers). I so wanted a waterfall and he knew exactly what I was talking about. The pergola turned out beautifully and he blended it in with the rest of the landscape seamlessly. The drawings he did before they even started the job were the best we had seen and we had interviewed 6 other companies. He had delays because of the rain but they caught up each time even if they had to work on Saturdays and completed the job before deadline. I wish I could put photos up of my backyard. It turned out better than I could ever have dreamed of and all my neighbors are soooo jealous. The plants and trees he put in are beautiful. Steve is very knowledgable about what plants do well in this area since he grew up here. Fixed the sprinklers and cleaned up everyday after work. Put our front yard back just the way he found it. Which was great since other companies wanted to charge $1000.00 for that service. Steve is very creative and has a good eye for what he does. Many of the other companies we met with kept asking "What do you want to do back here?" they had no ideas. Also all the other companies were heavy into cement and we did not want cement and Steve "GOT IT". If I ever have any other landscaping jobs I would call Steve immediately. Several neighbors have already asked for his number. JOB WELL DONE!!! Could not be HAPPIER!!!

It was during our meeting that I realized that I had not accurately budgeted the costs that would be in addition to the Big Deal offer. I am not prepared for a large exterior building project at this time until other larger prerequisite projects are completed. When the time comes that I am ready to move ahead with the pavers, I will be reaching out to Panjia.

Don't believe the coupon was a "deal". Steve's work was good and he was on the job when he said he would be there and completed the job on time. Our tenants are happy which makes us happy.

It was very labor intensive work and they were very detailed oriented and you could see they took pride in their work by the finished product. Great work guys!

+ -1 moreSteve Young from Panjia was excellent to work with and easy to contact. He was very responsive. He was professional and helped to make the choices and decision making easier for me. His crew was polite and cleaned up after themselves. I saw the area before they installed the pavers and it was 100% level which is critical to the quality of the completed job. They also thought to slope the pavers for correct water run-off which I will appreciate for years to come. One part of the area was not square and ran diagonally into a fence. The installers worked really hard to cut the pavers to perfectly fit and finish this unusually shaped part of the job. They clearly are detail-oriented. My perfectionist father would approved of the completed project......this is a compliment of the highest order! I look forward to working with this most excellent company again.

+ -1 moreI had been wanting to do something nice to the courtyard outside our master bedroom when we purchased our house last year but couldn't justify putting it on the "renovate immediately" list; too many other things had to be done first. It was so pitiful looking and it really bothered me just to walk past it on the way to the garage. Panjia's Big Deal offered on Angie's List caught my eye. I was impressed with their customer reviews and the discount offered made it possible to get it done right away. Steve Young, who provided the estimate, helped us choose the design, scheduled the installation and closely followed the job to completion, is truly a dedicated and tireless professional. Day one of the installation, the crew showed up right on time. The three man crew worked a long day, excavating the space; leveling the area; laying the base material; and laying a large percentage of the pavers. Day two, the crew was back bright and early, finishing at approx. 3pm. The attention to detail showed their pride of workmanship. My husband and I are very pleased with the result and most highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: Panjia installed approx. 160 sq. ft. of pavers in the courtyard outside our master bedroom. This included labor, materials, excavation and dump fees.
